to cycle; the memory number is displayed first followed
by the measurement.

. To proceed with a new measurement, press the START Button; otherwise, press and hold the ON/OFF
button for three seconds to shut the thermometer off.
6. Care and Maintenance
P
rotective Covers are intended for a single use only. Discard after each use.
T
he sensor is the most sensitive part of the thermometer. Work carefully when clean-
ing the sensor to avoid product damage. Use a clean cloth or cotton swab moistened
with disinfectant, alcohol, or warm water.
T
o clean the outer surface of the thermometer, use a soft cloth slightly moistened
with a mild soapy solution.

o not use any harsh cleaning products.
B
efore prolonged storage, remove the batteries.
D
o not use or store the device in excessively high or low temperature or humidity (see technical data), in
direct sunlight, near an electrical current or in dusty locations.
C
lean the sensor tip after every use. Use a clean cloth or cotton swab that can be moistened with rubbing
alcohol or warm water.

o clean the device, use a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Ensure water does not get into the
device. If the device does get wet, remove the battery immediately and let dry completely before reuse.
N
ever immerse the device in water.
T
o protect the sensor tip, always replace protective cap after use.
W
hen storing the device for an extended period, remove the battery.
7. Troubleshooting Guide
Error message Problem Solution
Autotest in progress, device not ready.
Retry measurement. Take measurements
only once body ( ) or object temperature

Ambient temperature is not within mea-
surement range.
Place the thermometer in an ambient
temperature between 50° F and 104° F
(10° C - 40° C) for at least 30 minutes.
Thermometer not placed in ear cor-
rectly.
Please observe the notes in the chapter
“Measuring”. Perform the measurement
again.

Large fluctuation in ambient tempera-
ture.
Store the device for at least 30 minutes
in the room where the measurement will
be taken.
Place the ear thermometer in a room with
an ambient temperature between 10 °C
and 40 °C (50 °F and 104 °F) for at least
30 minutes.
