Congratulations on the purchase of your

new Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

Hair Removal System! The Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body Hair Removal

System is a new breakthrough product

that uses Intense Pulsed Light ("IPL")

to remove unwanted hair at-home. The

device utilizes the same clinically-proven

technology that professional dermatolo-

gists and salons use, but optimized for

personal treatment of smaller areas in the

privacy and comfort of your own home.

Unlike most at-home hair removal

methods, the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body Hair Removal System

doesn’t cut or pull out hair; it actually

uses light energy to work below the

skin’s surface to disable active hairs

at the root. You should gradually notice

fewer hairs in the treatment area within a

few weeks, with results generally improv-

ing over time.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body Hair Removal System is intended

for use on:

• Female Facial Hair (cheeks, sideburns,

chin, neck areas, and above the lips);

with the Facial Cap.

• Male and Female Body Hair (under-

arms, bikini line, and on legs, arms,

stomach and chest) with the Body Cap.

NOTE: The Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body device isn’t for every-

one. Please review the Contradictions,

Warnings and Precautions to determine if

the device is OK for you to use. See Table

of Contents.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face

& Body Hair Removal System is an

over-the-counter device indicated for

the removal of unwanted body and/

or facial hair in adults with Fitzpatrick

skin types I – IV. The device is also

intended for permanent reduction

in unwanted hair. Permanent hair

reduction is defined as the long-term

stable reduction in the number of hairs

regrowing when measured at 6, 9, and

12 months after the completion of a

treatment regimen.

Skin Tone

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

Hair Removal System is intended for

use only on light to medium skin tones.

To determine if your skin tone is suitable

to use with the device, compare your

skin in the intended treatment areas

with the Skin Tone Chart. See Figure 1.

If it matches the Light to Medium skin

tones below, you can use Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device. If your

skin tone in the intended treatment area

matches the dark skin tones below, DO

NOT use the device.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body device also has a built-in SKIN

TONE SENSOR that is designed to

help prevent flashing on skin that is

too dark for treatment. See Step 2 of

"Using the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body Hair Removal System for

Treatment" in the Table of Contents for

details. Test each different area you

wish to treat with the Skin Tone Chart

and SKIN TONE TESTER before treating.

Some areas are darker than others.

If you have tanned skin in the intended

treatment area, DO NOT use the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device in those areas as your skin may

be too dark for treatment. You should

wait until your tan has completely faded

from any intended treatment area before

using the device.

What is the Remington

Hair Color

The light energy targets dark coloring

in hair, and therefore works best on

DARKER HAIR (black, dark brown,

brown or dark blond). DO NOT use

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body on gray or

white hairs or 'peach fuzz,' as it will

not work. The device is less effective

on LIGHT HAIR such as blond or red.

Body Hair Removal System is intended

for use on Male and Female Body

hair on underarms, bikini line, legs,

arms, chest and stomach. If you have

unwanted DARKER HAIR in any of

these areas, the illustration below lists

the typical number of flashes needed

to cover a 1.5” x 3” treatment area.

Treat in a GRID-LIKE PATTERN – slight

overlaps are OK, but DO NOT flash the

same EXACT spot multiple times during

one treatment session. Record treat-

ments with the iLIGHT App, available at

the iTunes store or on Google Play, or

with the TREATMENT CARDS. See TOC.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body Hair Removal System is intended for use

on female facial hair on the cheeks, sideburns, chin, neck areas, and above the

lips (see illustration). If you have unwanted DARKER HAIR in any of these areas, the

illustration below lists the typical number of flashes to treat the entire site (NOTE: for

spot treatments of unwanted hair, fewer flashes may be needed.) Record treatments

with the iLIGHT App, available at the iTunes store or on Google Play, or with the

TREATMENT CARDS. See TOC.

DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device on EYES, EYELASHES

or EYEBROWS. Doing so can cause serious and permanent eye injury.

Read Before Use!

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face

& Body Hair Removal System is not

designed for everyone. Please read and

consider the information in the following

section before use.

• DO NOT USE the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device if you have

DARK SKIN. Darker skin may absorb

too much light energy which could

cause skin swelling, temporary blisters,

or could change the color of your skin.

Refer to the Skin Tone Chart to deter-

mine if your skin tone is suitable for

use with the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body device. See Figure 1.

You should test each different area of

skin you want to treat. Some areas are

darker than others.

• DO NOT USE the Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device

on TATTOOS, DARK BROWN or

BLACK SPOTS (such as dark freckles,

birthmarks, moles, or warts), LIPS,

NIPPLES, GENITALS or AROUND THE

ANUS. These areas have darker skin

and may absorb too much light energy

which could cause skin swelling, tem-

porary blisters, or could change the

color of your skin.

• DO NOT USE the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device ON EYES,

EYEBROWS or EYELASHES. Doing so

can cause serious and permanent eye

injury.

• DO NOT USE the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device anywhere

on the MALE FACE, HEAD OR NECK.

Warnings

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body Hair Removal System is a power-

ful device. As such it should be used

with special attention to safety. Please

read all warnings and safety precau-

tions before use and follow them

strictly when using the device.

DO NOT flash in an environment

where the emission of light could

cause an explosion, such as in the

presence of gas.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF

CHILDREN! DO NOT leave the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device unattended around children as

the cords represent a choking hazard.

Children should be supervised to

ensure that they do not play with the

appliance.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face

& Body device SHOULD NOT be used

by anyone under the age of 18.

DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device if you have

a known sensitivity to light (photo-

sensitivity) or are taking medications

that make your skin more sensitive

to light, as the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device may injure

your skin or make existing conditions

worse.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body Hair Removal System is a power-

ful device. As such it should be used with

special attention to safety. Please read all

warnings and safety precautions before

use and follow them strictly when using

the device.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device if you have

TANNED SKIN in the intended treat-

ment area, as your skin may be too

dark and treatment in tanned areas

could temporarily cause skin swelling,

blisters, or could change the color

of your skin. Wait until your tan has

faded in the treatment area before

treating.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device on skin

with MAKEUP applied, as treating in

those areas could temporarily cause

skin swelling, blisters or could change

the color of your skin. Make sure to

thoroughly clean the intended treatment

area before using the device.

• DO NOT flash the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device on the

identical treatment spot multiple times

during the same session, as this could

temporarily cause skin swelling, blis-

ters, or could change the color of your

skin. See instructions under 'Using the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

Hair Removal System for treatment' in

the TOC for more information on how to

properly administer treatment.

• DO NOT treat any area more than once

every other week, as this will not speed

up results, but could increase likelihood

of skin swelling, blistering or changing

the color of your skin.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device on dam-

aged skin, including open wounds,

cold sores, sunburns, or areas where

you have had a skin peel or other skin

resurfacing procedure within the last

6-8 weeks.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device on irritated

skin, including rashes or swollen skin.

These conditions can make the skin

more sensitive to the light treatment.

Wait for the affected area to heal

before using the device.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device if your

skin is sensitive to light. In order to

determine if you can use the device,

perform a test on a small patch of skin

and wait 24 hours to determine if there

are any adverse reactions before using

the device more broadly. See steps

for testing on a patch of skin in Table

2. Contact Customer Service for more

information or assistance. See page 48.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device if you are

or may be pregnant or are breast-

feeding. Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body has not been tested on pregnant

women. Hormonal changes are com-

mon during pregnancy or breast-feed-

ing and could increase skin sensitivity

and the risk of skin injury.

• DO NOT flash the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device against any

material other than skin.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device for any pur-

pose other than hair removal.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device on any area

where you may someday want your

hair to grow back. The results may be

permanent and irreversible.

• DO NOT cover any part of the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

ventilation slots during use, as they help

to keep the device cool during opera-

tion. Covering the ventilation slots could

result in the device overheating.

• DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device if the box

packaging or the device appears dam-

aged or if any part of the device body

is cracked or broken. Doing so could

increase the risk of skin or eye injury

from the flash lamp. Contact Customer

Service for assistance. See page 48.

Precautions

• DO NOT allow the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device to become

damp or wet.

• DO NOT use the device near bathtubs,

showers, basins, or other vessels con-

taining water. Failure to follow these

precautions can cause electrocution

or electric shock. Contact Customer

Service for assistance. See page 48.

• DO NOT operate the Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device with

an unapproved power cord, or if it has

a damaged plug or cord. Keep the

device cord away from heated surfaces

(such as stoves, fireplaces, radiators

or furnaces). Failure to follow these

precautions can cause electrocution

or electric shock. Contact Customer

Service for assistance. See page 48.

• DO NOT open the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device (except to

replace the removable TREATMENT

CAP and/or REPLACEMENT

CARTRIDGE) or attempt to repair the

device as it contains no user-service-

able parts. Trying to open the device

may also damage the device and will

void your warranty. Please contact

Customer Service if you have a broken

or damaged device. See page 48.

Failure to follow these precautions can

cause electrocution or electric shock.

• If you've had professional, clinical, or

self-administered laser, IPL or elec-

trolysis hair removal treatments, wait

at least 6 months before using the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device. If you’ve waxed, plucked or epi-

lated hair in the treatment area, wait at

least 6 weeks before using the device.

The device uses the hair under your

skin to disable your hair at the root, so

it is not effective if the hair has been

pulled out.

• DO NOT USE on areas of the skin

with active bacterial, fungal, or viral

infections, as such use could spread

infections to other areas of the skin

(or others users of the device).

It is important to use the Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body Hair Removal

System properly. Make sure that you fol-

low all the Warnings, and that you do not

use the device if it is not right for you. See

TOC. If you do not understand any of the

Warnings, or have any questions, please

contact Customer Service. See page 48.

If you use the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body device as directed, the

risks are low:

• Your skin may become red within 24

hours after treatment. This redness

generally clears up within a few hours.

If the redness does not go away within

2–3 days, contact Customer Service.

See page 48.

• You may develop temporary blisters,

although these are unlikely for people

with lighter skin tones. If you do develop

a blister, stop using the Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body Hair

Removal System, clean the blister and

cover it with a bandage and change

daily to help prevent the blister from

becoming infected. If you need more

information, contact Customer Service.

See page 48.

• In rare cases, an outbreak of cold

sores may develop in the area(s)

treated that have a history of cold

sores. If the cold sores do not heal

after 7 days, contact Customer

Service. See page 48.

Risks

• In rare cases, some users might see

an increase in the number of hairs

growing. This increase is usually

temporary and due to hair growth

cycles. However, if after beginning

use of the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body device you believe

that the number of hairs regrowing

in the treated area has increased

since you started treatment, stop

using the device and contact

Customer Service. See page 48.

• Skin swelling, especially around the

hair follicle where you may notice

the skin is slightly higher than

surrounding areas. If the swelling

doesn’t go away within 2–3 days,

stop using the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body Hair Removal

System and contact Customer

Service. See page 48.

• Skin discoloration. If you notice that

your skin tone in the treatment area

has changed, stop using the device

and contact Customer Service. See

page 48.

• Eye Injury. When treating near or

around the eyes, use proper safety

eyewear. Proper safety eyewear

includes eye shields used for tanning

beds and Intense Pulsed Light lenses

for full shield glasses. Both are read-

ily available through the internet.

How Does the Remington

iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body Hair Removal System Work?

Light-based hair removal is a well-

established technology that has been

in use worldwide for over 15 years.

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body device uses this technology to

flash your skin with an intense pulse

of light. The energy in the pulse works

under the surface of your skin to target

hairs at the root, helping to stop their

growth. Because the energy in the

pulse of light targets dark coloring, it

works best on darker hair. To avoid

targeting (and possibly damaging) dark

skin, you should use the device only on

light-to-medium skin tones.

How Many Treatments are Needed?

Individual hairs go through a continu-

ous growth cycle with phases of active

growth and phases of rest. Like other

laser or light-based treatments, the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device affects only hairs that are in

the active growth phase. Your initial

regimen should be spread out over 1

month to ensure that you target the

most number of active hairs (includ-

ing those that recently cycled from the

resting phase).

We recommend that you use the

device once every two weeks over the

span of a month, for a total of 3 treat-

ments on each area.

If you have redness, blistering or other

skin irritation in the treatment area, DO

NOT perform treatment. Wait until the

skin returns to normal before using

the Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body device again. If the irritation does

not go away within 3 days, contact

Customer Service. See page 48.

Use the iLIGHT App, or TREATMENT

CARDS to help keep track of your

treatments. See TOC.

Results aren’t immediate, but you

should have noticeably fewer hairs

within 1 to 2 weeks after you start

treatment. During this time, it may look

like the hair is still growing, but it is

actually being “pushed out.” You may

or may not see these hairs fall out.

Inside your Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body box, you will find the

BASE UNIT, POWER CORD, CLEANING

CLOTH, and this USER’S MANUAL. The

device comes with the TREATMENT

CAP and a REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE

pre-assembled to the HAND PIECE. Each

lamp cartridge provides 65,000 flashes

before it needs to be replaced.

On the BASE UNIT, the control panel

includes a SKIN TONE SENSOR to test

for appropriate Skin Tone before usage,

and allows you to control the energy

level that's effective and comfortable for

you. See instructions in Figure 5. The

Getting to Know Your iLIGHT

Ultra Face and Body Hair Removal System

Use to treat facial area(s) with the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device (female use only).

IMPORTANT: The Facial Cap has been

specially designed to treat female facial

hair. DO NOT use the body cap on the

face. See section ‘Changing Treatment

Caps’ for instructions on how to

exchange caps.

Where you can use the Facial Cap

The Facial Cap is intended for use on

female facial hair on the cheeks, side-

burns, chin, neck areas and above the lips as shown in the figure below.

DO NOT use on male beards. See Contraindications in TOC.

What to Expect During and After a Remington

During Treatment

For many people, using the Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body Hair Removal

System is their first experience with a

light-based device. Here are some things

to expect during treatment:

• A Flash of Light: The flash of light that

you see is only part of the light pro-

duced by the device. The Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body Contact

Sensors help ensure that most of

the light is directed into the skin. The

remaining visible light should not be

harmful to the eyes, and special eye

protection is not needed as long as

you follow the directions for using the

device in this manual. The Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device

should NOT be used on the eyes, eye-

lashes or eyebrows.

• A Sensation of Warmth and Tingling:

It is normal to feel a warm and tin-

gling sensation with each flash. Many

people describe this sensation to be

like a rubber band lightly snapped

against the skin. However, sensations

vary by person and treatment area. If

the sensation is too intense or pain-

ful, stop using the device and contact

Customer Service before using again.

Immediately After the First Treatment

• Visible changes to the hair are unlikely

at this point. During and just after your

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

session, it is not uncommon to see

some very mild redness, mostly around

the hairs themselves. This is normal and

typically clears up within a few hours.

If the redness does not go away within

3 days, contact Customer Service. See

page 48.

• If you have redness, blistering or other

skin irritation in the treatment area, DO

NOT perform treatment. Wait until the

skin returns to normal before using the

device again. If the irritation does not

go away with 3 days, contact Customer

Service. See page 48.

What to Expect During and After a Remington

iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body Treatment

One to Two Weeks after the First

Treatment

• Hairs in the treated area will begin to

fall out gradually, but it is unlikely you

will notice significant reduction in hair

at this stage.

• Make sure to complete the full treat-

ment schedule to ensure you hit all

hairs in the growth phase in the tar-

geted area.

Two Weeks after the Last Treatment

• You should see a noticeable reduction in

hairs in the treated area. Also, any new

hair growth should be lighter and finer.

• At this point, additional treatments on

the same area should only be done

as needed to target hairs that have

recently entered the active cycle. You

only need to use the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device for occa-

sional touch-ups, where necessary, or

to treat another area.

Once you’ve become familiar with the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device and read all the information

on the preceding pages, including the

Warnings and Precautions, you’re ready

to use the device.

This section explains step-by-step how

to operate the device. Read this entire

section carefully before you start treat-

ment. Then refer back to it later as you

follow the steps.

The first time you use the device, you

should test it on a small patch of skin.

See Table 2.

In addition, we recommend that you use

the device in a cooler area where the

temperature is less than 80° F (27° C) to

help prevent the device from overheating

STEP 1: PREPARE SKIN

Before using the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device, prepare

the treatment area by thoroughly

Cleaning, Shaving, and Drying the

intended treatment area. It is impor-

tant that you remove any makeup

from the treatment area.

Removing surface hair and cleaning the

skin helps to minimize the sensation

felt from the device flashes and allows

the energy to penetrate to the hair root.

Because the device works below the

skin, the device is still effective even if

hairs are not clearly visible.

Using the Remington

iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body Device for Treatment

STEP 2: TURN ON AND UNLOCK the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

Hair Removal System.

Flip the POWER SWITCH on near the

power inlet.

Each time you turn the Remington

iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device on,

you will be prompted to test your skin

tone with the SKIN TONE SENSOR. The

device will play a melody to remind you

to test. See Figure 5.

NOTE: Using the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body device on darker

skin tones can result in damage to the

skin (such as burns, blisters or skin

discoloration). To help protect against

such damage, the device requires that

you test your skin tone before every use.

Since some skin areas are darker than

others, test each different area you want

to treat.

DO NOT use the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body device on tanned skin.

Even if your natural skin tone is light,

tanning makes it darker—potentially

too dark for treatment. With tanned skin,

wait until the tan has completely faded

before using the device on that area.

Always use the SKIN TONE SENSOR to

determine if your skin is too dark to treat

with the Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face &

Body device by placing the SKIN TONE

SENSOR on the area to be treated. Make

sure your skin in this area is clean and

dry, and shave it if necessary to be sure

it is free of hair.

2b. Always place the SKIN TONE SENSOR

window directly on the area of skin

you plan to treat. The reading will take

place automatically.

Note: You must use the SKIN TONE

SENSOR to test color on each body part

you plan to treat.

2a. Turn the POWER SWITCH on. The

SKIN TONE SENSOR will flash

YELLOW. You will hear a series of

audible “BEEPS” every 5 seconds to

remind you to take the test. For safety

reasons, after 30 seconds of inactivity,

the audible “BEEPS” will increase in

frequency until the test is taken or the

machine is turned off.

STEP 3: SELECT ENERGY LEVEL

ENERGY LEVEL SELECTION DISPLAY

illuminates the energy level that the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device will deliver to your skin, from the

lowest level ( ) to the highest

level ( ). Higher levels improve

hair removal results, but may be less

comfortable. To get the best results, you

should use the highest setting that’s

comfortable.

There are 5 energy level settings on the

device. Whenever the device is turned

on, it is automatically set to the lowest

energy level and the light will be illumi-

nated on the ENERGY LEVEL SELECTION

DISPLAY. See Table 1. To modify the

energy level, press the ENERGY LEVEL

SELECTION BUTTON to increase the

energy level. Once the energy level has

reached level 5, pressing the ENERGY

LEVEL SELECTION BUTTON will return

the device to energy level 1. The num-

ber of lights on the ENERGY LEVEL

SELECTION DISPLAY will coincide with

the change in energy level. See Table 1.

As with any new skin care product, we

recommend testing the device on a patch

of skin before your first full treatment or

before treating a new area.

STEP 4: SKIN PATCH TEST

Before treating an area for each time, test

a patch of skin to determine the appro-

STEP 5: TREAT YOUR SKIN

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device can flash approximately every

3 seconds and is ideal for treating both

larger and smaller areas.

Periodically, if either the hand piece or

base unit gets too hot, the ‘Hourglass’

icon will flash and the unit will beep.

Wait for a few minutes to allow the

device to cool down. There is no need

to shut the unit down, as the hour-

glass and beeps will turn off when

the device is ready to use again. The

number of flashes delivered before

the cool down state depends on sev-

eral factors, including how fast you

apply the treatments, and the room

temperature. See Figure 6.

5a. Ensure that the energy level is on

the correct setting. See Table 2 for

details about the different settings.

5b. Apply the TREATMENT CAP to

the skin, making sure the skin is

spread evenly and smoothly. Make

sure the SKIN CONTACT SENSORS

on the TREATMENT CAP are in full

contact with the skin.

5c. If the SKIN CONTACT SENSORS are

NOT in full contact with the skin,

the device will not operate if you

press the FLASH BUTTON and it

will “BUZZ”. Double check that the

SKIN CONTACT SENSORS are in full

contact with the skin.

5d. If the SKIN CONTACT SENSORS

on the TREATMENT CAP are in full

contact with the skin, a series of

high-pitched “BEEPS” will sound

indicating the device is OK to flash.

5e. Press the FLASH BUTTON. The

device will flash a pulse of light

onto your skin. You will see a flash

of light and simultaneously hear

a sound, which is normal for the

device. You may feel a mild sen-

sation of warmth and tingling.

5f. Immediately after a flash is deliv-

ered, move the HAND PIECE to

a new treatment location while

keeping the FLASH BUTTON

pressed down. After 3 seconds the

CARTRIDGE STATUS INDICATOR

DISPLAY will turn on again

and the device will beep. If the

TREATMENT CAP is in full con-

tact with the skin and the FLASH

BUTTON is pressed down, another

flash will be delivered.

After a flash is delivered, lift the HAND

PIECE to the next area in a grid-format.

NOTE: If the button is kept depressed, the

HAND PIECE can be slid between spots.

Three seconds later, (assuming SKIN

CONTACT SENSORS are in contact

with skin), the device will once again

emit a "BEEP" to confirm that it is

ready to flash.

The device will operate if FLASH

BUTTON is pressed.

5g. Try to treat in an organized, grid-

like pattern to ensure you cover

all hairs in the intended treatment

area. WARNING: DO NOT flash

the Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face

& Body device on the same treat-

ment spot multiple times during

the same session, as this could

cause skin swelling, temporary

blisters, or could change the color

of your skin.

Repeat step 5 until the desired treat-

ment area is fully covered. Depending

on the area, the treatment time will vary.

NOTE: For faster coverage you may

hold down the FLASH BUTTON while

you lift the HAND PIECE and place it

back in contact with a new area to

be treated. This will cause the unit to

deliver a flash to the skin as soon as

full contact between the skin and the

treatment cap is established.

Recommended Treatment Schedule

Your initial regimen should be spread

out over 1 month to ensure that you

target the most number of active hairs

(including those that recently cycled

from the resting phase).

We recommend that you use the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device once every two weeks over the

span of a month, for a total of 3 treat-

ments on each area.

If you have redness, blistering or other

skin irritation in the treatment area, DO

NOT perform the treatment. Wait until

the skin returns to normal before using

the device again. If the irritation does

not go away within 3 days, contact

Customer Service. See page 48.

OTHER TREATMENT TIPS

• Perform your treatments at night

before going to bed, so that any lin-

gering redness will most likely disap-

pear by the morning.

• If you’ve waxed hair in the treatment

area, wait 6 weeks before using the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device . The device uses the hair

under your skin to disable your hair

at the root, so it is not effective if the

hair has been pulled out.

• Shave immediately before treating

the area. This will allow you to use

a higher energy level as there's no

surface hair to absorb the light ener-

gy. How well you shave will make a

big difference in how the treatment

feels. See Step 1 under "Using the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

Hair Removal System for Treatment"

in the TOC.

• Periodically, if the device gets too

hot, the ‘Hourglass’ icon will flash

and the unit will beep. Wait for a few

minutes to allow the device to cool

down. There is no need to shut the

Changing Treatment Caps

The Facial Cap is specially designed to

treat female facial hair, as it minimizes

light leakage, and can flash every 4 sec-

onds. The Facial Cap is marked with the

icon below:

To change treatment caps, please follow

the instructions provided.

1. Turn the POWER SWITCH off and

unplug the POWER CORD from the elec-

trical outlet.

Allow the system to cool down for 5

minutes before attempting to change

TREATMENT CAP.

2. Hold the TREATMENT CAP with one

hand while pressing both TREATMENT

CAP RELEASE BUTTONS with the

other hand and pull gently. Store the

unused TREATMENT CAP in a safe

location (such as in the packaging)

taking care not to damage the FLASH

WINDOW and other components.

3. Gently push the other TREATMENT CAP

back into the HAND PIECE making sure

both side tabs click into place. NOTE: the

longer tab (with gold circuits) must be on

top to properly fit.

Helpful tips for treating facial hair

• Test on a patch of skin. See Table 2.

• Use a mirror to guide your Treatments

– using a mirror for a good view of

the area to be treated and to help

ensure you avoid treating the lips or

any other dark spots. If the reflected

light is unpleasant, you may want to

close your eyes before each flash.

• Stretch skin for better skin contact –

the contours of the skin may make

it difficult for the SKIN CONTACT

SENSORS to be fully depressed in

certain areas. You may find it easier to

try and wrap your upper lip over your

teeth or use your tongue to stretch

your cheeks for better skin contact.

When your Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body session is over, we sug-

gest the following:

• Be sure to record your treat-

ment using the iLIGHT App or the

TREATMENT CARDS. See TOC.

• Turn the device off by pressing the

POWER SWITCH.

• After each hair removal session, clean

the device, especially the TREATMENT

CAP and FLASH WINDOW (See

“Cleaning Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body Device” below.)

• After cleaning, store the device in

its original box and keep it away

from water.

CLEANING the Remington iLIGHT

Ultra Face & Body Device

Before and after each session, clean

your device, especially the FLASH

WINDOW, the SKIN CONTACT SENSORS,

and the SKIN TONE SENSOR window.

DO NOT place any part of the

Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body

device in water or other liquids. If any

part of the device gets wet, DO NOT

USE. Contact Customer Service for

help. See Page 48. As with any electrical

device, a wet Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face

& Body device could cause electrocution

or electric shock.

• Make sure the device is turned off.

Remove the POWER CORD from the

device and wall socket before cleaning.

• Use a clean, lint-free cloth (one is pro-

vided with the unit) or a cotton swab to

gently wipe the Remington iLIGHT Ultra

Face & Body surface and especially

the TREATMENT CAP, FLASH WINDOW,

SKIN CONTACT SENSORS AND THE

SKIN TONE SENSOR window. If needed,

you can dampen the cloth or cotton

swab with water and mild soap. Allow

the device to dry completely before

using again.

• If you still need to remove dirt or debris,

you can use your fingernail or a firm piece

of plastic like a credit card. Be careful not

to damage the FLASH WINDOW.

DO NOT attempt to open or repair your Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body device.

Only authorized Remington repair centers are permitted to perform repairs.

REPLACING THE REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE

The Remington iLIGHT Ultra Face & Body REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE can deliver

65,000 light flashes regardless of the energy level setting. Flash intensity is deter-

mined only according to the energy level setting of the device. There is no significant

decrease of energy during the usable lifetime of the REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE.

When a REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE has reached 90% of its possible lifetime the

CARTRIDGE STATUS INDICATOR DISPLAY on the control panel will turn yellow

indicating that the REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE should soon be replaced. Once all

65,000 flashes in a REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE have been used, the CARTRIDGE

STATUS INDICATOR DISPLAY will flash yellow indicating that further flashes can-

not be delivered. In order to continue the hair removal session, it will now be nec-

essary to replace the REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE.

y cuerpo Remington! El sistema de depilación

iLIGHT Utra para cara y cuerpo Remington es

un producto revolucionario nuevo que utiliza la

Luz Pulsada Intensa (IPL), diseñado para una

depilación en casa del vello no deseado. Este

dispositivo utiliza la misma tecnología de Luz

Pulsada Intensa (IPL) clínicamente probada

que utilizan los salones de belleza y derma-

tólogos profesionales, pero ha sido optimizada

para su uso personal en la privacidad y como-

didad de su propio hogar.

A diferencia de la mayoría de los métodos de

depilación caseros, el sistema de depilación

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo no corta o tira

el vello, lo que hace es utilizar la intensidad

lumínica para trabajar bajo la superficie de la

piel para desactivar los vellos en la raíz. Ya que

éste es un proceso gradual, deberá ver los

resultados en unas pocas semanas de iniciado

El sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington es un dispositivo

de venta libre, indicado para la depilación

del vello corporal y/o facial no deseado en

adultos con tipos de piel I a IV de la escala

Fitzpatrick. Este dispositivo también está

diseñado para la reducción permanente en

el vello no deseado. La reducción del vello

permanente es definida como una reduc-

ción a largo plazo, estable en el número

de vellos que vuelven a crecer cuando es

medida en períodos de 6, 9 y 12 meses

después de que se ha completado un régi-

men de tratamiento.

Tono de piel

El sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington está diseñado

para utilizarse sólo en pieles de tono claro a

medio. Para determinar si su tono de piel es

adecuado para utilizar con este dispositivo,

compare una porción de piel del área a

tratar con la Tabla de Tonos de Piel. Ver la

Figura 1. Si su tono de piel coincide con los

tonos de piel indicados más abajo, puede

utilizar el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara

y cuerpo Remington. Si su tono de piel coin-

cide con los tonos de piel oscuros, NO utilice

el dispositivo.

El dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington también está equipado con un

SENSOR DE TONO DE PIEL incorporado, dis-

eñado para evitar tratar pieles muy oscuras

o bronceadas. Ver el paso 2 en la sección de

“Uso del sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington para trata-

miento” en el Índice para más detalles. Haga

una prueba de cada una de las dis¬tintas

Color del vello

La intensidad de la luz se enfoca en el vello

de colores oscuros y por lo tanto trabaja mejor

en VELLOS MÁS OSCUROS (negro, castaño

oscuro o rubio oscuro). NO utilice el sistema

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo en vellos

grises, blancos ni tipo “pelusa” (pelo muy

suave y fino) porque no funcionará. El disposi-

tivo es menos efectivo en vellos claros, como

los rubios o pelirrojos.

Zonas de Tratamiento

Áreas del Cuerpo Masculino y Femenino

El sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington está diseñado

para ser utilizado en el vello corporal mas-

culino y femenino que se encuentra en

las axilas, línea del bikini, piernas, brazos,

pecho y el estómago. Si tiene VELLOS MÁS

OSCUROS no deseados en cualquiera de

estas áreas, la ilustración más abajo indica

el número típico de disparos de luz nece-

sarios para cubrir un área de tratamiento

de 1.5” x 3”. Trate el área utilizando un

PATRÓN CUADRICULADO – es acceptable

que las líneas se superpongan un poco,

pero NO utilice disparos de luz en el mismo

punto múltiples veces durante una sesión

El sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington no está diseñado

para todos. Por favor lea y considere la

información en la siguiente sección antes

de utilizarlo.

• NO UTILICE el dispositivo i-LIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington si tiene

un TONO DE PIEL OSCURO. La piel

más oscura puede absorber demasiada

energía lumínica, lo que podría causar

inflamación de la piel, ampollas tem-

porales o cambiar el color de la piel.

Consulte la Tabla de Tonos de Piel para

determinar si su Tono de Piel en área

a tratar es el adecuado para tratar con

el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara

y cuerpo Remington. Ver la Figura 1.

Deberá efectuar pruebas en cada una

tratar. Algunas áreas son más oscuras

TATUAJES, PIELES COLOR CASTAÑO

OSCURO O MANCHAS NEGRAS (como

pecas, marcas de nacimiento, lunares

o verrugas), LABIOS, PEZONES,

GENITALES O ALREDEDOR DEL ANO.

Estas áreas tienen una piel más oscura

y pueden absorber demasiada intensi-

dad lumínica, lo que podría ocasionar

potente. Como tal, se deberá utilizar con

estrictamente cuando utilice el dispositivo.

NO APLIQUE disparos de luz en un

ambiente donde la luz emitida pudiera

causar una explosión, como en la presen-

cia de gas.

¡MANTENGA LEJOS DEL ALCANCE

DE LOS NIÑOS! NO deje el dispositivo

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington

desatendido cuando esté alrededor de los

niños ya que los cables representan un

peligro de estrangulamiento. Los niños

deben ser supervisados para asegurar que

no jueguen con el aparato.

El dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara

y cuerpo Remington NO DEBE ser uti-

lizado por personas menores de 18 años.

NO UTILICE el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra

• NO utilice el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington en áreas

de la piel en las que se hayan aplicado

COSMÉTICOS, el tratamiento en estas

áreas podría ocasionar temporalmente

inflamaciones, ampollas o causar cam-

bios en el color de su piel. Asegúrese de

que el área tratar esté bien limpia antes

de utilizar el dispositivo.

• NO aplique diparos de luz del dispositivo

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington

en el mismo punto de tratamiento múltiples

veces durante la misma sesión; esto podría

causar temporalmente inflamación , ampol-

las o provocar cambios en el color de su

piel. Ver las instrucciones bajo la sección

• NO trate ninguna área más de una vez

daños, como heridas abiertas, herpes

dispositivo, haga una prueba en un área

pequeña y espere 24 horas para determi-

nar si se producen reacciones adversas

antes de tratar áreas más amplias. Vea

amamantando. El sistema iLIGHT para cara

y cuerpo Remington no ha sido probado en

mujeres embarazadas. Durante el embara-

zo y el período de amamantamiento es

común experimentar cambios hormonales

que pueden aumentar la sensibilidad de la

piel y el riesgo de lesiones en la piel.

• NO dirija los disparos de luz del dispositivo

iLIGHT para cara y cuerpo Remington a

ningún otro material que no sea la piel.

• NO utilice el dispositivo iLIGHT para cara y

cuerpo Remington para otro fin que no sea

la depilación.

• NO utilice el dispositivo iLIGHT para cara

y cuerpo Remington en áreas en las que

algún día quizás quiera que el vello vuelva

a crecer. Los resultados del tratamiento

pueden ser permanentes e irreversibles.

• NO cubra ninguna de las partes de las

ranuras de ventilación del dispositivo iLIGHT

para cara y cuerpo Remington durante su

uso, ya que ayudan a mantener el disposi-

tivo frío durante su operación. Cubrir las

ranuras de ventilación podría resultar en

sobrecalentamiento del dispositivo.

• Si se ha sometido a tratamientos profesio-

nales, clínicos o administrados por usted

mismo de eliminación del vello mediante

láser, IPL o electrólisis, espere por lo menos

6 meses antes de utilizar el dispositivo

iLIGHT para cara y cuerpo Remington. Si

se ha depilado la zona que desea tratar con

cera u otros métodos, espere un mínimo de

6 semanas antes de utilizar el dispositivo. El

dispositivo utiliza el vello bajo la superficie

de la piel para desactivar el vello en su raíz,

por lo que no es efectivo si éste ya se ha

sacado de raíz.

• NO utilice en áreas de la piel que tengan

infecciones bacterianas, por hongos o

virales, ya que podría extender las infec-

ciones a otras áreas de la piel (o infectar a

otras personas que utilicen el dispositivo).

Si utiliza el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington según es indica-

do, los riesgos son bajos.

• Su piel podría enrojecerse en 24 horas

después del tratamiento. Este enrojeci-

miento general-mente desaparece en

unas horas. Si el enrojecimiento no desa-

parece en 2 a 3 días, comuníquese con

Servicio al Cliente. Ver la página 101.

• Puede aparecerle ampollas temporales,

aunque es poco probable que le apa-

rezcan a personas con tonos de piel

más claros. Si le aparece una ampolla,

deje de utilizar el sistema de depil-

ación iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington, limpie la ampolla y cúbrala

con un vendaje y cámbielo diariamente

para ayudar a prevenir que se infecte. Si

necesita más información, comuníquese

con Servicio al Cliente. Ver la página 101.

• En casos poco frecuentes, podría apa-

recer un brote de herpes labial en áreas

tratadas con antecedentes de herpes

labiales. Si los herpes labiales no se

curan depués de 7 días, comuníquese

con Servicio al Cliente. Ver la página 101.

Riesgos

• En casos poco frecuentes, algunos

usuarios podrían ver un aumento en el

número de vellos que crecen. Como los

vellos crecen en ciclos, generalmente

este aumento es temporal. Sin embargo,

si después de comenzar a utilizar el dis-

positivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington cree que el número de vellos

que están volviendo a crecer en el área

tratada es superior al número existente

antes de iniciado el tratamiento, deje de

utilizar el sistema y comuníquese con

Servicio al Cliente. Ver la página 101.

• Inflamación de la piel, especialmente

alred¬edor del folículo piloso donde

puede notar la piel un poco más elevada

que las áreas en sus alrededores. Si la

inflamación no se desaparece en 2 a 3

días, deje de utilizar el sistema de depi-

lación iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington y comuníquese con Servicio

al Cliente. Ver la página 101.

• Decoloración de la piel. Si nota que su

tono de piel ha cambiado en el área

que ha sido tratada, deje de utilizar el

dispositivo y comuníquese con Servicio

al Cliente. Ver la página 101.

• Lesión ocular. Cuando vaya a aplicar

el tratamiento cerca o alrededor de los

ojos, utilice equipo de protección adec-

uado para los ojos. Equipo apropiado

incluye protectores para los ojos utiliza-

dos para las camas solares y gafas con

lentes de protección completa para la

Luz Pulsada Intensa (IPL). Ambos están

disponibles en la internet.

El proceso de depilación basado en el

uso de luz para eliminar el vello es una

tecnología conocida que ha sido utilizada

en todo el mundo por más de 15 años. El

dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington utiliza esta tecnología aplicando

a la piel disparos de luz pulsada intensa.

La energía en la pulsación de luz actúa

bajo la superficie de la piel, dirigiéndose a

la raíz del vello ayudando así a detener su

crecimiento Debido a que la energía en la

pulsación de luz actúa sobre la coloración

oscura, se obtienen mejores resultados en

vellos más oscuros. Para evitar que la luz

pulsada actúe sobre la piel oscura (y que

pueda dañarla), solo debe utilizar el dis-

positivo en tonos de piel claros a medios.

¿Cuántos tratamientos se necesitan?

Cada vello en su cuerpo atraviesa un ciclo

continuo de crecimiento con fases activas

y fases de reposo. Al igual que otros trata-

mientos de laser o basados en el uso de la

luz, el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y

cuerpo Remington solo afecta los vellos en

la fase activa. Su régimen de tratamiento

inicial debe expanderse por un período de

1 mes para asegurar que actúe sobre el

mayor número de vellos activos (incluso

áquellos que hayan entrado recientemente

en una fase activa).

Le reco¬mendamos que utilice el dis-

positivo una vez cada dos semanas por un

período de um mes, para un total de tres

tratamientos en cada zona.

Si el área tratada está enrojecida, tiene

ampollas o cualquier otra irritación de la

piel, NO aplique el tratamiento. Deje que

la piel vuelva a su estado normal antes

de volver a utilizar el dispositivo iLIGHT

Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington. Si

la irritación no se desaparece en 3 días,

comuníquese con Servicio al Cliente. Ver la

página 101.

Utilice la aplicación iLIGHT o las TARJETAS

DE TRATAMIENTO para ayudarle a llevar

cuenta de sus tratamientos.Ver el Índice.

Los resultados no son inmediatos, pero

después del tratamiento inicial deberá

notar menos cantidad de vellos en 1 a

2 semanas. Durante este tiempo, puede

parecer que el vello sigue creciendo, pero

en realidad está siendo ‘empujado hacia

afuera”. Usted verá o no los vellos caerse.

necesario reemplazarlo.

En la UNIDAD BASE, el panel de control

Durante el tratamiento

Para muchas personas, el uso del sistema

de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para cara y

cuerpo Remington significa su primera

experiencia con un dispositivo basado en la

luz. Estas son algunas de las expectativas

durante el tratamiento.

• Un disparo de luz: El disparo de luz que

usted ve como un destello es solo parte

de la luz producida por el dispositivo. Los

sensores de contacto del sistema iLIGHT

Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington

ayudan a asegurar que gran parte de la

luz esté dirigida hacia la piel. El resto de

la luz visible no debe dañar los ojos y no

se necesita protección especial para los

ojos, siempre y cuando siga las instruc-

ciones de esta Guía de Uso y Cuidado. El

dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington NO debe ser utilizado en los

ojos, las pestañas ni las cejas.

• Una sensación de calor y hormigueo: Es

normal sentir una sensación de calor y hor-

migueo con cada disparo de luz. Muchas

personas describen cada disparo de luz

como la sensación de una banda elástica

golpeando la piel. Sin embargo, las sen-

saciones de los usuarios vari¬arán según

la persona y la parte del cuerpo que se está

tratando. Si la sen¬sación es muy intensa

o dolorosa, deje de utilizar el dispositivo y

comuníquese con Servicio al Cliente antes

de volver a utilizarlo. Ver la página 101.

Inmediatamente después del tratamiento

• Cambios visibles en el vello son improbable

a este punto. Durante y justo después de su

sesión con el sistema iLIGHT Ultra para cara

y cuerpo Remington, no es poco común

ver algún enrojecimiento leve, la mayoría

alrededor de los vellos. Esto es normal y

usualmente se desaparece en pocas horas.

Si el enrojecimiento no desaparece en 3

días, comuníquese con Servicio al Cliente.

• Si tiene enrojecimiento, ampolla o cualquier

otra irritación de la piel en el área a ser

tratada, NO aplique el tratamiento. Espere

a que la piel vuelva a su estado normal

antes de volver a utilizar el dispositivo. Si

la irritación no se desaparece en 3 días,

comuníquese con Servicio al Cliente. Ver la

página 101.

Una a dos semanas después del

tratamiento inicial

• Los vellos en el área tratada comen-

zarán a caerse gradualmente, pero es

impropable que note una reducción sig-

nificativa en los vellos en esta étapa.

• Asegúrese de completar el programa

de tratamiento para asegurar que trate

todos los vellos en la fase de creci-

miento en el área objetivo.

Dos semanas después del último

tratamiento

• Deberá notar una reducción significa-

tiva en los vellos de la zona tratada.

Además, notará que cualquier creci-

miento de vello será más fino y escaso.

• A estas alturas, tratamientos adicionales

en la misma área solo deben realizarse

según sea necesario para actuar en

vellos que han entrado recientemente

en la fase activa. Usted solo necesita

utilizar el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington para retoques

ocasionales donde sea necesario o para

tratar otra área.

Una vez que esté familiarizado con el dis-

positivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington y lea toda la información en

la páginas anteriores, incluyendo las

Advertencias y Precauciones, estará listo

para utilizar el dispositivo.

Esta sección explica paso a paso como oper-

ar el dispositivo. Lea esta sección completa

cuidadosamente antes de comenzar un trata-

miento. Luego refiérase de nuevo a ella más

tarde mientras sigue los pasos.

La primera vez que utilice el dispositivo debe

probrarlo en un área pequeña de la piel. Ver

la Tabla 2.

Adicionalmente, recomendamos que utilice

el dispositivo en un área más fría donde la

temperatura sea menos de 80° F (27° C)

para ayudar a prevenir que el dispositivo se

sobrecaliente.

PASO 1: PREPARE LA PIEL

Antes de utilizar el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington, prepare el

área de tratamiento lavándola bien, afeitán-

dola y secando el área a tratar. Es importante

que elimine cualquier cosmético utilizado de

las áreas a tratar.

Eliminar el vello de la superficie y limpiar

la piel ayuda a reducir la sensación de los

disparos de luz del dispositivo y permite que

la energía penetre en la raíz del vello. Debido

a que el dispositivo trabaja debajo de la piel,

éste sigue siendo efectivo aunque los vellos

no sean visibles.

PASO 2: ENCIENDA Y DESBLOQUEE el

sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington.

Presione el interruptor localizado cerca

de la toma de corriente, a la posición de

encedido.

Cada vez que enciende el dispositivo

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington,

aparecerá un mensaje indicandole que

pruebe el tono de su piel con el SENSOR

DE TONO DE PIEL. El dispositivo tocará

una melodia para recordarle que haga la

prueba. Ver la Figura 5.

NOTA: El uso del dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington en tonos de

piel más oscuras podría ocasionar daños

a la piel (como quemaduras, ampollas o

decoloración de la piel). Para ayudar a pro-

teger de tales daños, el dispositivo requiere

que pruebe su tono de piel antes de cada

uso. Debido a que algunas áreas de la piel

son más oscuras que otras, pruebe cada

área diferente que desee tratar.

NO utilice el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington en la piel bron-

ceada. Aunque su tono de piel sea claro,

cuando es bronceada está más oscura—

posiblemente demasiado oscura para ser

tratada. Si tiene la piel bronceada, espere

hasta que el bronceado se desaparezca

antes de utilizar el dispositivo en esa área.

Siempre utilice el SENSOR DE TONO

DE PIEL para determinar si su piel es

demasiado oscura para tratarla con el

dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington, colocando el SENSOR DE

TONO DE PIEL sobre el área a ser tratada.

Asegúrese de que su piel en esta área

esté limpia y seca, y afeítela si es necesa-

rio para asegurar que esté libre de vellos.

2b. Siempre coloque la ventana del

SENSOR DE TONO DE PIEL directa-

mente sobre el área de la piel que

desea tratar. La lectura se realizará

automáticamente.

Nota: Debe utilizar el SENSOR DE TONO

DE PIEL para probar el color en cada parte

del cuerpo que desea tratar.

2a. Presione el INTERRUPTOR DE

ENERGÍA a la posición de encendido).

El SENSOR DE TONO DE PIEL para-

padeará en AMARILLO. Escuchará

una serie de “BIPS” audibles cada 5

segundos para recordarle que realice

la prueba. Por razones de seguridad,

después de 30 segundos de inactivi-

dad, los “BIPS” audibles aumentarán

en frecuencia hasta que se haga la

prueba o la máquina se apague

2c. Coloque la parte del cuerpo a ser

tratada sobre el SENSOR DE TONO

DE PIEL (tocando la unidad), el sensor

leerá de inmediato el tipo de piel.

2e. Si su tono de piel es adecuado para

utilizar el sistema, se escuchará un

“BIP” agudo, la luz LED DEL SENSOR

DE TONO DE PIEL se iluminará verde

y el dispositivo estará listo para ser

utilizado.

2d.

Si su tono de piel NO es adecuado para

utilizar el sistema, la LUZ LED DEL SENSOR

DE TONO DE PIEL cambiará a un AMARILLO

sólido y el dispositivo emitirá un “ZUMBIDO”

durante 5 segundos. Después de 5 segundos,

puede volver a tratar de utilizar el SENSOR DE

TONO DE PIEL (paso 2c más arriba).

2f.

Una vez que el sistema está activado, la LUZ DEL

NIVEL DE INTENSIDAD y la LUZ INDICADORA DE

LA VIDA ÚTIL DE LA LÁMPARA se encenderán

y el ventilador interno comenzará a funcionar.

Remington está configurado al nivel de intensi-

dad más bajo y ¡listo para ser utilizado!

Notas:

• Algunas áreas de la piel son más oscu-

ras que otras. Debe utilizar el SENSOR

DE TONO DE PIEL en cada área diferente

que desee tratar.

• Si cree que su piel es adecuada basado

en la Tabla de Tonos de Piel en la Figura

1, pero el SENSOR DE TONO DE PIEL no

activa el dispositivo, comuníquese con

Servicio al Cliente. Ver página 101.

• Si tiene la piel bronceada en el área a

tratar, NO utilice el dispositivo iLIGHT

Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington

en esas áreas ya que su piel puede

estar demasiado oscura para recibir

tratamiento. Debe esperar hasta que su

bronceado se desaparezca completa-

mente de cualquier área a tratar antes

Para obtener mejores resultados, deberá

Hay 5 configuraciones de nivel de

intensidad en el dispositivo. Cuando el

dispositivo se enciende, el dispositivo se

configura automáticamente en el nivel de

intensidad más bajo y la luz indicadora se

iluminará en la PANTALLA DE SELECCIÓN

DEL NIVEL DE INTENSIDAD. Ver la Tabla 1.

Para modificar el nivel de intensidad, pre-

sione el BOTÓN DE SELECCIÓN DEL NIVEL

DE INTENSIDAD para aumentarlo. Una vez

que el nivel de intensidad haya alcanzado

el nivel 5, presionando el BOTÓN DE

SELECCIÓN DEl NIVEL DE INTENSIDAD

hará que el sistema regrese al nivel de

intensidad 1. El número de luces de la

PANTALLA DE SELECCIÓN DEL NIVEL DE

INTENSIDAD coincidirá con el cambio en

el Nivel 5, presionando el BOTÓN DE

Como con cualquier producto nuevo para el

cuidado de la piel, le recomendamos pro-

bar el dispositivo en un área pequeña de la

piel antes de realizar su primer tratamiento

completo o antes de tratar un área nueva.

PASO 5: TRATE SU PIEL

El dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara y

cuerpo Remington puede emitir un disparo

de luz cada 3 segundos y es ideal para el

tratamiento de ambas, áreas más amplias

y más pequeñas.

De vez en cuando, si el dispositivo manual

o la unidad base se calientan demasiado,

el icono de “reloj de arena” parpadeará

y el sistema emitirá un sonido de bip.

Espere unos minutos para permitir que

el dispositivo se enfríe. No es necesa-

rio apagar la unidad, ya que el reloj de

arena y los sonidos de bip se apagarán

cuando el dispositivo esté listo para ser

utilizado de nuevo. El número de disparos

de luz producidos antes del estado de

enfriamiento depende de varios factores,

incluyendo que tan rápido aplique los

tratamientos y la temperatura de la habit-

ación. Ver Figura 6.

5a. Asegúrese de que el nivel de intensi-

dad esté en la configuración correcta.

Ver la Tabla 2 para obtener detalles

sobre las diferentes configuraciones.

5b. Aplique el ACCESORIO DE

TRATAMIENTO en la piel, procurando

que éste se extienda de manera

pareja y uniforme. Asegúrese de que

los SENSORES DE CONTACTO CON LA

disparo de luz pulsada en su piel.

Verá un destello de luz brillante y

simul¬táneamente escuchará un

sonido, lo cual es normal para el

dispositivo. Es posible que sienta una

leve sensación de calor y hormigueo.

Después de que el disparo de luz ha sido

aplicado, mueva el DISPOSITIVO MANUAL

a la próxima área formando un patrón

cuadriculado.

NOTA: Si el botón se mantiene presionado,

el DISPOSITIVO MANUAL puede deslizarse

entre los puntos.

Tres segundos después, (asumiendo que

los SENSORES DE CONTACTO CON LA PIEL

estén en contacto con la piel), el dispositivo

volverá a emitir un sonido de “BIP” para

confirmar que está listo para aplicar un

disparo de luz.

El dispositivo funcionará si el BOTÓN DE

DISPARO DE LUZ es presionado.

5g. Trate de trabajar de forma organizada,

con un patrón cuadriculado para asegurar

que cubra todos los vellos en el área con

intención a tratar. ADVERTENCIA: NO

utilice el dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para cara

y cuerpo Remington para aplicar disparos

de luz en un mismo punto de tratamiento

múltiples veces durante la misma sesión,

ya que esto pudiera ocasionar inflamación

de la piel, ampollas temporales o pudiera

cambiar el color de su piel.

Repita el paso 5 hasta que el área de

tratamiento deseada esté cubierta comple-

tamente. Dependiendo del área, el tiempo de

tratamiento variará.

NOTA: Para una cobertura más rápida, man-

tenga presionado el BOTÓN DE DISPARO

DE LUZ mientras levanta el DISPOSITIVO

MANUAL y lo vuelve a poner en contacto

con la nueva área a tratar. Esto hará que la

unidad aplique un disparo de luz sobre la

piel tan pronto como se establezca pleno

contacto con la piel.

Programa de Tratamiento Recomendado

Su régimen inicial debe extenderse a lo

largo de 1 mes para asegurar que actúe en

la mayor cantidad de vellos activos (incluso

áquellos que recientemente han entrado de

la fase de reposo).

Le recomendamos que utilice el dispositivo

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington

una vez cada dos semanas por un período

de un mes, para un total de 3 tratamientos

en cada área.

Si tiene enrojecimiento, ampollas o cual-

quier otra irritación de la piel en el área

de tratamiento, NO aplique el tratamiento.

Espere hasta que la piel vuelva a su estado

normal antes de volver a utilizar el disposi-

tivo. Si la irrtación no se desaparece en 3

días, comuníquese con Servicio al Cliente.

OTROS CONSEJOS DE TRATAMIENTO

• Aplique los tratamientos por la noche

antes de acostarse para que cualquier

enrojecimiento que quede se haya desa-

parecido cuando llegue la mañana.

• Si ha retirado el vello del área de

tratamiento con cera, espere 6 semanas

antes de utilizar el dispositivo iLIGHT

Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington. Este

dispositivo utiliza el vello bajo su piel

para desactivar su vello en la raíz, de

manera que si el vello ha sido sacado de

raíz el tratamiento no será efectivo.

• Afeite inmediatamente el área a tratar

antes de empezar el tratamiento. Esto le

permitirá utilizar un nivel de intensidad

más alto, debido a que no habrán vellos

en la superficie para absorber la inten-

sidad de la luz. De acuerdo a como se

afeite, esto hará una gran diferencia en la

forma en que se siente el tratamiento. Ver

el Paso 1 bajo la sección “Uso del siste-

ma de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para cara

y cuerpo Remington para tratamiento” en

el Índice.

• De vez en cuando, si el dispositivo se

calienta demasiado, el icono de “reloj de

arena” parpadeará y el sistema emitirá

un sonido de bip. Espere unos minutos

para permitir que el dispositivo se enfríe.

No es necesario apagar la unidad, ya que

el icono del reloj de arena se desapa-

recerá cuando su dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington esté listo

para ser utilizado de nuevo.

• El número de disparos de luz aplicado

antes del estado de enfriamiento del

sistema depende de varios factores,

incluyendo que tan rápido usted apli-

que los tratamientos y la temperatura

de la habitación.

• Utilice la configuración del nivel de

intensidad más alto que sea confortable

para usted y que no cause reacciones

adversas. Los niveles de intensidad

más altos son más efectivos. Ver el

Cambio de los Accesorios de Tratamiento

El Accesorio Facial está específicamente dis-

eñado para tratar el vello del rostro femenino,

mientras que minimiza la pérdida de luz y

emite disparos de luz cada 4 segundos. El

Accesorio Facial está marcado con el icono

mostrado abajo:

Para cambiar los acessorios de tratamiento,

por favor siga las instrucciones provistas.

1. Presione el INTERRUPTOR DE ENERGÍA

a la posición de apagado y desenchufe el

CABLE DE ALIMENTACIÓN del tomacor-

riente de la pared.

Permita que el sistema se enfríe por 5

minutos antes de intentar cambiar el

ACCESORIO DE TRATAMIENTO.

2. Sostenga el ACCESORIO DE

TRATAMIENTO con una mano mientras

con la otra presiona ambos BOTONES

DE LIBERACIÓN DEL ACCESORIO DE

TRATAMIENTO y tire suavemente del

accesorio. Amacene el ACCESORIO DE

TRATAMIENTO no utilizado en un lugar

seguro (como en la caja de empaque),

teniendo cuidado de no dañar la VENTANA

DE DISPARO DE LUZ y otros componentes.

3. Presione suavemente el otro

ACCESORIO DE TRATAMIENTO sobre el

DISPOSITIVO MANUAL asegurándose de

que ambas lengüetas laterales encajen

con un clic en su lugar. NOTA: La lengüeta

más larga (con circuitos dorados) debe

estar situada en la parte superior para que

el accesorio se acomode bien.

Consejos útiles para el tratamiento del

vello facial

• Pruebe primero en un área pequeña de la

piel. Ver la Tabla 2.

• Utilice un espejo que le sirva de guía al

aplicar los tratamientos--utilizar un espejo le

permitirá tener buena visibilidad del área que

se va a tratar y le ayudará a estar seguro de

no tratar los labios o ningún otro punto oscu-

ro. Si le molesta el reflejo de la luz, cierre los

ojos antes de cada disparo de luz.

• Estire la piel para lograr un mejor contacto-

-los contornos de la piel pueden dificultar

que los SENSORES DE CONTACTO CON LA

PIEL estén completamente presionados en

determinadas áreas. Tal vez le resulte más

fácil poner el labio superior sobre los dientes

o utilizar la lengua para estirar las mejillas y

lograr un mejor contacto con la piel.

Después de su Tratamiento de Cara y Cuerpo Con El Sistema iLIGHT

Remington

Cuando termine su sesión con el

sistema iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo

Remington, le recomendamos lo siguiente:

• Asegúrese de anotar su tratamiento utili-

zando la aplicación iLIGHT o las TARJETAS

DE TRATAMIENTO. Ver el Índice.

• Apague el dispositivo presionando el

INTERRUPTOR DE ENERGÍA a la posición

de apagado.

• Después de cada sesión de depilación, limpie

el dispositivo especialmente el ACCESORIO

DE TRATAMIENTO y LA VENTANA DE

DISPARO DE LUZ (ver la sección de

“Limpieza del dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra para

cara y cuerpo Remington más abajo).

• Después de la limpieza, almacene el

dispositivo en su caja original y mantén-

galo lejos del agua.

LIMPIEZA del dispositivo iLIGHT Ultra

para cara y cuerpo Remington

Antes y después de cada sesión, limpie

su dispositivo, especialmente la VENTANA

DE DISPARO DE LUZ, los SENSORES DE

CONTACTO CON LA PIEL, y la ventana del

SENSOR DE TONO DE PIEL.

NO coloque ninguna pieza del sistema

iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington

en agua u otros líquidos. Si cualquiera

de las pieza del dispositivo se moja, NO

LA UTILICE. Comuníquese con Servicio

al Cliente para obtener asistencia. Ve la

página 101. Como con cualquier dispositivo

eléctrico, un dispositivo mojado iLIGHT

Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington podría

causar electrocución o descarga eléctrica.

• Asegúrese de que el dispositivo esté apaga-

do. Retire el CABLE DE ALIMENTACIÓN del

dispositivo y del tomacorriente de la pared

antes de limpiarlo.

• Utilice un paño limpio, sin pelusas (el que

se proporciona con la unidad) o un isopo

de algodón para limpiar con suavidad la

superficie y, especialmente, el ACCESORIO

DE TRATAMIENTO, VENTANA DE DISPARO DE

LUZ, SENSORES DE CONTACTO CON LA PIEL

y la ventana del SENSOR DE TONO DE PIEL.

Si es necesario, puede humedecer el paño o

el isopo de algodón con agua y jabón suave.

Deje que la unidad se seque completamente

antes de utilizarla de nuevo.

• Si aún necesita eliminar polvo o residuos,

puede utilizar sus uñas o un pedazo

de plástico duro, como una tarjeta de

crédito. Tenga cuidado de no dañar la

VENTANA DE DISPARO DE LUZ.

NO intente abrir o reparar su sistema i-LIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington. Sólo los cen-

tros de reparación autorizados por Remington pueden realizar las reparaciones.

REEMPLAZO DEL CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO

El CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO del sistema iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington producirá

aprox-imadamente 65,000 disparos de luz, indepen¬dientemente de la configuración del nivel

de intensidad. La intensidad del disparo se determina sólo de acuerdo a la configuración del

nivel de intensidad del dispositivo. No hay una reducción significativa de la energía durante la

vida útil del CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO.

Cuando un CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO ha alcanzado el 90% de su posible vida útil, la

LUZ INDICADORA DE LA VIDA ÚTIL DEL CARTUCHO se iluminará amarilla, indicando que el

CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO pronto deberá ser reemplazado. Una vez que se han utilizado los

65,000 disparos de luz en un CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO, la LUZ INDICADORA DE LA VIDA

ÚTIL DEL CARTUCHO se iluminará amarilla y parpadeará, indicando que no se pueden producir

nuevos disparos de luz. Para continuar con la sesión de depilación, será necesario reemplazar el

CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO.

NOTA: UN CARTUCHO DE REEMPLAZO también debe ser reemplazado si la AMPOLLETA DE LA

LÁMPARA está rota.

número de disparos de luz sugerido en cada área de tratamiento para asegurar un

tratamiento adecuado. Llene las Tarjetas de Tratamiento para ayudarle a registrar sus

tratamientos.

Para un área de tratamiento típica de

1.5” x 3”, debe utilizar 10 disparos de

luz para tratar completamente el área

completa.

Trate de trabajar en una forma orga-

nizada con un patrón cuadriculado – las

líneas pueden superinponerse un poco,

pero NO trate el mismo punto múltiples

veces durante una sesión.

Nota: NO marque físicamente el área de

tratamiento con el patrón cuadriculado ya

que esto podría dañar la piel.

• Utilice el sistema de depilación iLIGHT Ultra para cara y cuerpo Remington una vez

cada dos semanas (un total de 3 tratamientos) en cada área.

• Si tiene enrojecimiento, ampollas o cualquier otra irritación de la piel en el área de

tratamiento, NO aplique el tratamiento. Espere hasta que la piel vuelva a su estado

normal antes de volver a utilizar el dispositivo. Si la irritación no se desaparece en 3
