For norn%alcooling
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
HI
COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATUREcontrol at
desired number (usuallythe mid-
point isa good starting position).
/f room temperature is not satisfac-
tory after a reasonabletime, set the
thermostat control at a higher
number for a cooler room or at a
lower numberfor awarmer room.
3. Slide ENERGY SAVEI?switch
to the desired position–’’save”
or “norm.”
4. Set VENTILATION control at
“closed” position.
For maximum cooling
1. Set SELECTOR switch at
HI COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATUREcontrol at10.
3. Slide ENERGY SAVERswitch
to “norm” position.
4. Set VENTILATION control at
“closed” position.
For Qtlieteroperation
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
ULTRALOCOOL.
2. Set THERMOSTATcontrol at
desired number.
3. Set VENTILATION control at
“closed” position.
4. Slide ENERGY SAVERswitch to
desired position.
Note: When ENERGY SAVER
switch is at “save;’ changes in
sound level maybe moreapparent
asthe fan-cycles on and off with
the compressor.
For nighttime operation
During the cooler evening hours,
it is recommended that you set the
SELECTOR switch at ULTRA LO
COOLfor very quiet operation and
the TEMPERATURE control at
midrange (4).
For extreme temperatures
For greatest economy and best
performance, we suggest you
alwaysset the SELECTOR switch
at HI COOL in extrernely hot
weather.
Wipe front grille with aclean cloth
lightly dampened with mild liquid
dishwashing detergent. Washcab-
!net with mild soap or detergent and
lukewarm water.
For
ventilation
Whethercontrols aresetfor cooling
orfan operation only,setting the
VENTILATIONcontrol at“open” lets
roomair beexhaustedto the out-
side.This ishelpful in removing stale
air,smokeor odorsfrom the room.
However,cooling effectiveness is
reduced when this control isset at
“open” so we suggest you don’t
keep it there long–especially in
hot, humid weather.
SIDE-TO-SIDE AIR DIRECTION
To adjustairdirection
Position the horizontal louvers
with your fingertips to direct air
discharge up or down. Usethe tabs
to position the hidden vertical
louvers to direct air discharge to
the left, right or any position in
between.
condenser coils
These coils on the weather side of
the unit should be checked period-
ically and cleaned if clogged with
dirt or soot from the atmosphere. If
extremely soiled, they may need to
be steam cleaned, a service avail-
able through your General Electric
service outlet,
