Chapter 1 Basic Controls and Connections
Front Panel Controls
Power ‘VIZIO’ Light When you first connect
power, the logo will flash between a darker and a
brighter shade of orange until it is a constant
orange. At that time your HDTV is ready to be
powered on. Once powered on, the logo turns
white.
Remote Control Sensor – When in IR mode, point
the remote control at this sensor in the lower left-
hand corner for the best response to the remote
signal. Your remote control normally operates with
Bluetooth which allows you to point the remote
control anywhere to control the TV. You will pair
(Activate) your remote during the initial setup procedure.
Left-Side Panel Controls & Connections
Power ( )—Turn your HDTV on by pressing the button once. Press the button again to your
HDTV off.
MENU—Press to launch the VIZIO Internet Apps (VIA) Dock on the bottom of the TV,
including the HDTV Settings App, used to make adjustments to your TV.
INPUT—Repeated pressing of this button steps through the input sources in the following
sequence: TV, AV (Composite), COMP (Component), HDMI-1, HDMI-2, HDMI-3, HDMI-4,
HDMI side, and RGB (VGA). Once you have stepped through the entire sequence, you will
return to the beginning. When in a menu, this button functions as the OK or select control.

/ Use these buttons to step up or down the TV channels. When in a menu, these
buttons function as up and down navigation.
VOL / —Use these buttons to increase or decrease the speaker volume. When in a
menu, these buttons function as left and right navigation.
USB 1, 2, 3—These ports are currently for service only. Register your HDTV to receive future
product updates including upgrades for these ports.
HDMI SIDE—Connect another digital video device such as a DVD player or set-top box
through this all digital connector.
