#1 Why does my toast cook light on one side and a little darker on the other. I have the setting on 2. If I set it on 3 the toast is really dark.

Try cleaning the toaster out...My toaster collected crumbs on the side elements.

#2 Does this toaster stay cool to the touch while it's toasting?

I have the two slice model of this toaster. While it’s warm to the touch when toasting, I’ve not noticed it being really hot. Maybe if toasting in consecutive uses at one time it may but I’ve not had that happen. I have nothing but good things to say about this product and happy with purchase.

#3 How deep are the bread wells?

Deep enough for large bagel and Pepperage farmhouse breads

#4 Does this toaster have a crumb tray?

Yes it has a crumb tray.

#5 Does the surface show fingerprints and does it need to be constantly cleaned?

Yes but it doesn't take long. Also it's very important to keep the crum tray clean in the very back

#6 Is there a cord storage?

No, there is no cord storage
