GE - General Electric GFW480SPKDG Questions and Answers

#1 What is the difference between the Sanitize and Allergen cycles? They both seem to use extra hot water.

On washers with an Allergen cycle, there is an extra rinse and the time and temperature is adjusted when set to Allergen; While the overall time the Allergen cycle can vary among washers you will typically see a longer wash period. This cycle differs from the Sanitize cycle. As a general rule sanitization is achieved by maintaining a combination of time and temperature to reduce 99.9 percent of microorganisms from clothing. Allergen is achieved with time, temperature, and extra rinsing of the load.

#2 What does it mean load sensor low ?

There is no message displayed which reads “Load Sensor Low” but there is one that scrolls across the screen which is “LoAd SEnSE”.

This load sensing is a normal part of the wash process on this model and is done to establish the correct amount of water to use for the particular load being washed. The user seeing “LoAd SEnSE” displayed is normal and means the machine is operating properly.

Thanks for checking with us!

#3 Which side is the hinge on this unit?

Front-load washers have the hinge on the left side of the door and open to the left only. They do not have reversible doors because of the electronics involved with the door lock mechanism. Thank you for checking with us.
