LG Electronics LW8021HRSM Questions and Answers

#1 I’m looking at getting the LW8031HRSM A/C & Heater but I’m wondering about the installation. Will it work on a horizontal sliding window and how do I measure to confirm it will fit. Does the sliding portion of the window come out?

The LG 7,500 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW8021HRSM is not designed for installation in horizontal-sliding windows. It is designed for installation in standard single-hung o double-hung windows that have actual opening widths from 22" to 36". The top and bottom windows sashes must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 14" from the bottom of the upper sash to the inside sill.

#2 What is the Power consumption on heat LW8021HRSM?

The specifications on our product detail page for the LG 7,500 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW8021HRSM list BTU Performance (Heating) as 3,850 so it will have a power consumption of 343.75W/hr.

#3 When this unit is on ac mode where does the water leak out from?

When the LG 7,500 BTU Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Window Air
Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW8021HRSM is in AC Mode, the condensate that drips off the evaporator coils collects in the base pan at the bottom of the unit which is why it is recommended that you install the cabinet with a slight tilt (about 1/2") downward on the outside. The unit is equipped with a slinger fan that has an outer ring that picks up the condensed water from the base pan if the water level gets high enough. The water is then picked up by the fan and expelled through the condenser, making their conditioner more efficient. In humid weather, excess water may cause the base pan to overflow. To drain the water, remove the drain cap and secure the supplied drain pipe to the rear hole of the base pan. Press the drain pipe into the hole by pushing down and away from the fins to avoid injury.
