Cuisinart 726-38H Questions and Answers

#1 What is the diameter of the heat contact area on the bottom of
the pan? i have a flat cook top want to be sure that it will be a
good fit.

I'm not sure but I have a flat cook top as well and it fits
perfectly.

#2 Is it non-stick?

No. Very well built stainless steel pan. Lots of room. Great for
browning meat. Retains heat well, can transfer to the oven.

#3 Can use this on glass-top electric stove?

We use it on a glass-top induction stove. It would work fine
on a regular glass surface stove too. You want to be careful
with any metal pan on a glass surface because it can
scratch, but we've never had that problem. Glass topped
stoves have a few things to watch for but their ease in
cleaning and attractiveness over conventional stoves
makes them highly preferable to me.

#4 Does this work on gas stoves too?

I could imagine it could, but it might stain/scar the outside of
it. It it pretty hardy though. I have an electric stove top, but
you'd probably have to watch what you were cooking like a
hawk if you used a gas stove top.

#5 Is this a non-stick wok?

Technically, no. It doesn't have a non stick coating. It is
stainless steel and I've had no problem with food sticking. We
use it regularly. I'm very very happy with it and the value was
excellent compared to stores.

#6 Is the base exterior aluminium? If yes, then is it suitable for
glass cooktop?

Yes. It can be used on any stove. It says on the bottom of the
wok Induction ready and is magnetic, so it can even be used on
induction cooktops.

#7 The key question for this wok would be "Does the food stick,
such as egg and fish?" Haven't seen this question answered
confidently.

It has been my experience that food does not stick to this pan.
Vegetables are so easy to cook in this pan as well as seafood.
It is by far my favorite pan.

#8 Do the sides get hot enough to cook food as well, or nearly
as well as the flat surface that actually rests on the electric
stove top?

Yes, the sides do get hot, the pan is heavy enough so that it
seats evenly on the electric stove top. We used it for frying and
are satisfied with it. The only issue is the lid which is really
heavy and does not have small hole, so if it kept over hot pan,
there is no outlet & creates really high pressure.

#9 Is the glass lid vented (a small hole on the lid)?

If I recall correctly there is a vent, but I returned it as the pan
started to oxidize and I'd only used it a few times! I was
bummed as it was nice to look at and a good size, but if it was
oxidizing that fast, it would soon be useless.
