Well yes and no. It’s not like a wii remote where you can point and select your options though on some apps you can use the motion feature. It’s a Standard light small remote 6-5 inches not the nicest I’ll say but it does the job fine. Though do not loose it or break it, you will not be able to turn on your TV again as this tv doesn’t seem to have a physical power button (At least that I know of) So treat your remote as a very important part of ur TV.

Yes, you definitely can. It has its own internet browser. Entering text using the remote control is very slow, but you can use a wireless keyboard / trackpad combination (I use Logitech K400+) to speed up your web surfing.
