6WDUWLQJWKH)UHH]HU
1
Clean the inside of the freezer with a mild solution of baking soda and water (see &DUHDQG&OHDQLQJ).
2
Connect cord to power outlet.
3
Make sure the temperature control is set at 4.
4
Allow freezer to operate for at least 6 to 8 hours before placing food inside.
Temperature Control
Turn the freezer temperature control to 4. This
setting is designed to maintain the temperature
at or near 0°F (-18°C) under normal operating
conditions. Seven is the highest (coldest) setting
and zero turns the cooling off. The freezer
compressor will run continuously for 6-8 hours
or longer when it is first started. After the
cabinet is cooled, the compressor will turn on
and off as needed to keep the freezer at the
proper temperature.
For safe food storage, allow 6-8 hours for the
freezer to cool down before placing frozen
food into the freezer. Let freezer cool overnight
before adding large amounts of unfrozen food.
When loading the freezer, freeze only 2 to 3
pounds (0.9 to 1.4 kg) of fresh food per cubic
foot of space at a time. Distribute packages
evenly throughout the freezer. It is not
necessary to turn the control knob to a colder
setting while freezing food.
Turning the control to OFF or O stops the
cooling process but does not shut off power to
the freezer.

Recommended Grounding Method
Indicator Light
A 115 Volt, 60 Hz, AC only, 15- or 20-amp fused,
grounded electrical supply is required. It is
recommended that a separate circuit serving
only your freezer be provided. Use an outlet
that cannot be turned off by a switch Do not
use an extension cord.
NOTE: Before performing any type of
installation, cleaning, or removing a light bulb,
turn the Temperature Control to the OFF
position as shown and unplug the freezer.
The indicator light assures you that your freezer
is running. If the indicator light is not glowing,
immediately check for power interruption,
unplugged power cord, open circuit breaker,
blown fuse, or burned out indicator light. If
the light is burned out, contact service for a
replacement.
