When the battery is low (or dead):
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF ( ) position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON ( ) position.
Press both shift switches and check that they are functioning.
If both switches are functioning, shift into neutral and restart the
engine.
If one or both switches are not functioning, see
page .
When the engine is stopped and the ignition switch is ON:
Stop the ATV.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF ( ) position.
After the engine stops, turn the ignition switch to the ON ( )
position.
Press both shift switches and check that they are functioning.
If both switches are functioning, shift into neutral and restart the
engine.
If one or both switches are not functioning, see
page .
When the engine is running:
If one or both shift switches do not function, stop riding your ATV in
the ESP (manual shift) mode. Switch to riding in the AUTO (automatic
shift) mode.
Have your ATV inspected by your dealer.
If the gear position indicator shows ‘‘ ’’ or blinks, try rocking the
ATV back and forth a few inches and then recheck the gear position
indicator.
