  • Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate.
  • Connect the appliance to a power supply with alternating current only via a properly installed socket with earthing.
  • The protective conductor system of the domestic electrical installation must be properly installed. The installation must have a sufficiently large cross section.
  • When using a residual current circuit breaker, only use a type with the mark.
  • Never equip the appliance with an external switching device, e.g. a timer or remote control.
  • When the appliance is installed, the mains plug of the power cord must be freely accessible. If free access is not possible, an all-pole isolating switch must be installed in the permanent electrical installation according to the installation regulations.
  • When installing the appliance, check that the power cable is not trapped or damaged.

Cleaning and servicing

Cleaning the drum

Permanently washing at low temperatures and a lack of ventilation for the appliance may damage the drum and cause injury.

  • Regularly run a programme for cleaning the drum or wash at temperatures of at least 60 °C.
  • Leave the appliance to dry after every operation with the door open, and leave the detergent drawer to dry.
  • Run the Cottons 90° programme without laundry. Add washing powder.

Cleaning the drain pump

Emptying the drain pump

  1. Turn off the water tap.
  2. Switch off the appliance.
  3. Disconnect the appliance's mains plug from the power supply.
  4. Open the maintenance flap.
  5. Slide a sufficiently large receptacle under the opening.
  6. To allow the detergent solution to flow out into the container, remove the pump cap carefully.

Cleaning the drain pump

  1. Since water may remain in the drain pump, remove the pump cap carefully.
  2. Clean the interior, the thread on the pump cap and the pump housing.
  3. Make sure that the impeller in the drain pump can be rotated.
  4. Insert the pump cap and screw it on as far as it will go. The handle on the pump cap must be in a vertical position.
  5. Insert the maintenance flap and lock it into place.
  6. Close the maintenance flap.

Cleaning the water outlet hose at the siphon

  1. Switch off the appliance.
  2. Disconnect the appliance's mains plug from the power supply.
  3. Loosen the hose clamp and carefully remove the water outlet hose. Residual water may leak out.
  4. Clean the water outlet hose and siphon connecting piece.
  5. Reattach the water outlet hose and secure the connection point using the hose clamp.

Bosch WAU28R90GB Questions and Answers

Does this washing machine have a time delay setting so
that I can set it to run a programme first thing in the mornin
Yes it does, when you have selected your wash programme
just press the plus sign symbol below the wash time to add
time, then press the start button and it will the start by that

Does it have a spin only setting? Many thanks Is eco 40-60
program 40 degrees for 60 minutes ?
Yes Sue there is a spin and drain only setting.
No 40---60 doesn't mean clothes being washed at 40
degrees for 60 minutes.
How I read the instructions, it means that cottons linens and mixed fabrics ,which have a wash symbol either 40 or 60 degrees can be washed together on this
programme. The temperature used is the best for energy efficiency. It has been programmed into the
machine and cannot be changed. Max load is 9 Kg but according to my machine it takes 3hrs and 35 mins . I have not used this programme. This is how I have read the instructions . I turned the programme selector to Eco 40 - 60. This is how I got the time it took to wash.

Can you tell me if this machine can wash at 50 degrees?
No it can wash at 20.30,40 60 and 90 degrees but not 50
