It does but keep in mind brown rice requires more water. For example if you cook 2 cups of white rice, you will do it in 2 cups of water. To cook 2 cups of brown rice, you will do it using 3 cups of water.
#2 Can you easily see the measurement markers inside the pot?
Yes. The measurement markings are etched into the inside of the metal pot. They are shown in cups and liters.
#3 Is the inner non-stick cooking bowl removable for easy cleaning?
Yes, it's very very easy, and it's so non stick that you can remove everything with your hand, at least white rice basically just falls off if I shake the bowl.
The instructions indicate the liner cannot be placed in the dishwasher. It is very easy to clean however.
#5 Does this have a delay on the timer and does it have a count-down?
There is no delay on the timer. It senses when the water is boiled off (cooking rice or steaming veggies). Then for rice the instructions say to wait about 15 minutes once it clicks from cooking to warming before stirring and serving rice. For veggies once it clicks to warm they are usually done.
#6 Is the "nonstick inner cooking pan" made of teflon?
The inner pan is made of aluminum which is then coated with a non-stick flouroresin similar to teflon.
Yes it does. The cord can be put in the steamer tray that fits inside for storage between uses. Just be aware that even though the cord is detachable, it doesn't mean the outer unit can be submerged for washing.
