SAFETY FEATURES
Your pressure cooker contains several safety features:
Safety When Opening:
- If your pressure cooker is under pressure, the manometric rod is in the upper locking position, which prevents the cover
from opening. Never try to force open your pressure cooker.
- It is especially important not to apply pressure to the manometric rod.
- Ensure that the internal pressure has fallen (additional steam escaping from the safety valve) prior to trying to open the
cover.
Two Overpressure Safety Features:
- First device: the safety valve releases the pressure – see chapter on Cleaning and Maintenance, page 28-33
- Second device: the sealing gasket lets the steam escape from the back of the lid
