Lectro Sound ASM1020-KK Questions and Answers

#1 How is this any better than just hooking a speaker up to an iPod or phone and playing white noise audio files? Or just using an actual fan?

I currently use my Apple Homepod to play white noise in our bedroom. Apple Music has a number of white noise tracks available. I use a track off an album by "Dr. White Noise", I made a "White Noise" playlist on iTunes, I copied the track ("Soft Dehumidifier Fan Delight") 12 times so it will play for 12 hours (the track is 1 hour long). It works and sounds great. You could certainly use speakers hooked up to your phone or iPod to accomplish the same thing. However, if you needed to purchase speakers to use with the phone/iPod, it seems like you might as well get this unless you want to use the speakers for music, etc. in the bedroom. This device would certainly be easier to use than hooking up speakers each night, plus it would likely take up less space.

#2 If it is "on" and essentially unplugged through a alexa power switch, when it is "plugged" back in will it still be on?

Yes. You should set up the SoundStory and volume the way you like and then turn off the LectroFan with the Power button on the upper-right corner of the front panel. This will save the current settings. The next time power is restored (or when you press the Power button), the previously played SoundStory and volume will be played. So, the next time a switched outlet is activated, the LectroFan will come on. This feature of coming on when power is applied can be turned off or on, as described in the user manual. By default, out of the box, this feature is on.

#3 Will it run for 8-10 hours straight?

Mine works just fine. I constantly just hit the time button 8-10 times and when I wake up in the morning it is still turned on.
