Operation

In order to operate this cordless pole hedge trimmer you will
need an iON+ 24V System battery and charger. See page
18 for battery and charger options and specications, or for
more information visit sunjoe.com.

Starting + Stopping
mWARNING! Ensure the blade does not touch any
objects before turning on the pole hedge trimmer.
mCAUTION! Starting, stopping, and restarting a DC
motor repeatedly within a few seconds can generate a great
deal of heat and damage the motor. To protect the life of your
cordless pole hedge trimmer, always wait at least ve seconds
after stopping before restarting the pole hedge trimmer.
1. Insert the battery in the battery compartment (Fig. 9).
2. To turn the tool ON, push and hold the safety lock button
(located on the rear handle) with your thumb and then
squeeze the trigger with your ngers. Once the tool is
running, you can release the safety lock button (Fig. 10).
3. To turn the tool OFF, release the trigger (Fig. 10).
NOTE: Do not press the trigger until you are ready to
make a cut.
mCAUTION! Blade coasts after being turned o. Do not
use under wet conditions. Do not store with switch locked on.
Adjusting the Telescoping Pole
1. Turn o the pole hedge trimmer and remove the battery.
2. Unclip the clamp to release the pole (Fig. 11).
3. Extend the pole to the desired length (Fig. 12).
NOTE: Push poles toward each other to shorten the pole
or pull them away from each other to lengthen the pole.
Only extend the pole to the minimum length required to
reach the hedges to be trimmed.
