style paper filter with this unit. Other gold-
tone permanent filters may cause the

SPECIAL CORD SET
INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce
the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
Longer extension cords may be used if care
is exercised in their use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical
rating of the extension cord must be at least as
great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
the longer cord should be arranged so that it will
not drape over the countertop or tabletop, where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
NOTICE
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in
any way.
OPERATING NOTICE
Clogging and backing up of water and/or coffee in
the filter basket can occur under any or a
combination of any of the following conditions: the
use of too finely ground coffee; using two or more
paper filters; using the gold-tone filter in
conjunction with a paper filter; not properly
cleaning coffee grounds from the gold-tone filter;
or allowing coffee grounds to spill over the filter.
Caution: Never open the filter basket during the
brewing cycle, even if no water is draining from the
filter basket, since extremely hot water/coffee can
spill out from the filter basket and cause injury.
If water/coffee is not draining from the filter
basket during the brewing cycle, unplug the unit
and wait 10 minutes before opening and checking
the filter basket.

UNPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the box on a large, sturdy, flat surface.
2. Remove the instruction book and any other
literature.
3. Turn the box so that the back side of the
coffeemaker is down and slide the
coffeemaker from the box.
4. After the coffeemaker has been removed,
place the box out of the way and lift off the
packing material.
5. Grasp the carafe by its handle, remove it from
the heating plate, and remove the polybag.
6. Remove the polybag covering the
coffeemaker.
Save all packing materials in case you have to ship
the machine in the future.

ELEMENT 1: WATER
Coffee is 98% water. The quality of that
water is as important as the quality of
your coffee. If water doesn’t taste good
from the tap, it won’t taste good in your
coffee. Cuisinart includes a charcoal
water filter to remove chlorine, bad tastes
and odors for the purest coffee flavor,
every time you brew.
ELEMENT 2: COFFEE
While coffee is 98% water, the flavor
comes from the beans. To achieve the
same great taste you enjoy at a coffee
bar, you need to use the same quality of
coffee. If you choose to grind your own
beans, buy them fresh and whole. Buy
only about a two-week supply at a time,
because once the bean is broken, its
flavor degrades quickly.
ELEMENT 3: GRIND
The grind is critical for proper flavor
extraction. If the grind is too fine,
overextraction and bitterness will result.
Too fine a grind may also clog the filter.
If the grind is too coarse, the water will
pass through too quickly and the
maximum flavor will not be extracted.
When grinding your own beans, we
recommend a medium-fine grind.
ELEMENT 4: PROPORTION
Coffee that is too strong or too weak is
always a disappointment. Follow the
recommended portions for ground coffee
in the instructions under Brewing Coffee,
and later adjust the amount to suit
your taste.

Your Coffee PLUS
®
system is designed to let
you use the coffeemaker and Hot Water System
separately or at the same time. It’s perfect for
every occasion.
PROGRAMMING YOUR
COFFEEMAKER
SETTING THE CLOCK
When the coffeemaker is plugged in, 12:00 will
flash in the display for 10 seconds, indicating the
unit is in Clock Set mode. If 12:00 stops flashing,
simply press and hold the Hour or Minute button to
return to flashing Clock Set mode.
SETTING HOURS AND MINUTES
Press either button to select the desired time.
Hold buttons down to scroll through the digits
quickly, or press and release to advance one digit
at a time. Be sure the PM indicator is on if setting
a PM time.
SETTING THE BREW START TIME
1. Press and hold the Prog Button
for 2 seconds.
The LED indicator and digital display will
flash the default (12:00) or previously selected
time. Follow directions under Setting the Clock
(above) to program your brew start time.
5 seconds after finishing, the unit will
automatically exit Auto On Setup mode and
the indicator light will illuminate, letting you
know automatic brew start is activated.
NOTE: To exit automatic brew start setup
mode, you can also just press the Prog
button again.
2. To activate automatic brew start using
previously selected time:
Press the Prog button. Previously set time will
appear and indicator will light up. Display will
return to clock setting. The Brew/Off/Auto Off
indicator light will come on when brew cycle
begins. The indicator light will turn off when
the keep warm cycle ends.
3. To deactivate automatic brew start:
Press illuminated Prog button; light will
go off, indicating mode is turned off.
SETTING THE AUTO OFF TIME
1. Press and hold the Brew/Off/Auto Off
button for 2 seconds.
The LED indicator and digital display will
flash the programmed Auto Off default (2:00)
or previously selected time. Follow directions
under Setting the Clock to program
coffeemaker to shut off from 0 to 4 hours
after brew cycle is finished.
2. To exit/confirm Auto Off time setting:
Do not touch any buttons. Auto Off setup
mode will be exited automatically after
5 seconds.
NOTE: Once the coffeemaker enters the
keep warm cycle, the Carafe Temp button
will illuminate. Press Carafe Temp button to
adjust warming plate temperature to Low,
Medium or High to keep freshly brewed
coffee at the temperature you prefer.
NOTE: This can also be done before or
during brewing.
BEFORE FIRST USE
We recommend flushing out both the
coffeemaker and Hot Water System before
first use.
Coffeemaker: Fill the reservoir with cold water
and follow the directions for Brewing Coffee.
DO NOT ADD COFFEE!
Hot Water System: Fill the reservoir to the
max fill line and follow directions under.
“Using the Hot Water System”.
Once the system flush is complete, your
Coffee PLUS
®
system is ready to brew and
heat water so you can enjoy Cuisinart at
its best!

BREWING COFFEE
Follow instructions in Before First Use on
previous page.
1. Insert charcoal water filters
Follow directions for the preparation and
insertion of the filters at left.
2. Fill the coffeemaker water reservoir
Open the water reservoir cover by lifting it up.
Pour in the desired amount of water using
the water level indicator located at the side
of the coffeemaker.
3. Add the ground coffee
Lift the coffeemaker lid to access the filter
basket. Remove the filter basket by grasping
the handle and lifting straight up. Insert a #4
paper filter or permanent filter. Be sure that a
paper filter is completely open and fully
inserted in the basket. It may help to fold and
flatten the seams of a paper filter beforehand.
Add 1 level scoop of ground coffee per cup.
Adjust the amount according to taste.
NOTE: The maximum capacity for ground
coffee is 15 tablespoons for this
coffeemaker. Exceeding this amount
may cause overflow if the coffee is too
finely ground.
Replace the filter basket in the filter basket
holder and press firmly on cover to be sure it
closes securely.
CHARCOAL WATER FILTERS
Your coffeemaker comes with two charcoal
water filters (one for the coffeemaker
and one for the Hot Water System) that
eliminate chlorine, bad tastes and odors
from tap water.
Inserting the Water Filters
• Remove the filters from the polybags and
soak them, fully immersed, in cold tap water
for 15 minutes.
• Lift the water filter holders out of the water
reservoirs from the Coffeemaker side and Hot
Water System side (see diagram, page 5).
• Press down on each filter compartment
and pull toward you to open.
• Place filters into the holders and snap
closed. Be careful – improper placement can
tear the filter skin.
• Flush filters by running cold tap water
through holes in bottom of compartments
for 10 seconds.
• Allow the filters to drain completely.
• Slide each water filter holder back into the
channel of the appropriate water reservoir,
pushing each down to the base of the unit.
NOTE: We recommend changing the
water filters every 60 days or after
60 uses, and more often if
you have hard water.

4. Position carafe and plug in unit
Place carafe on heating plate and be sure
the coffeemaker lid and water reservoir
cover are closed. Plug coffeemaker into an
electrical outlet.
5. Set preferences
a. Push the 1–4 Cup button if you are
brewing fewer than 5 cups.
b. Turn the Carafe Temp button to Low (L),
Medium (M), or High (H) and heater plate
will keep coffee at the temperature
you select.
6. Start Brewing
Press the Brew/Off/Auto Off button to begin
brewing.
7. After brewing
When the brewing cycle has been completed,
5 beeps will sound. Coffee will continue to
stream from the filter for several seconds.
NOTE: Reservoir cover may be hot during
and directly after brewing. Wait at least 10
minutes before opening.
USING THE HOT
WATER SYSTEM
Follow instructions in Before First Use on page 7.

3. Heating
Press the Hot Water On/Off button. The Hot
Water On/Off button indicator light will
illuminate. The Water Ready indicator will
flash while the unit is heating. Once the unit
has heated, the Water Ready indicator will
become solid.
4. Dispensing water
To dispense water, be sure the safety switch,
which is located below the dispensing lever,
is in the unlocked position. Simply slide the
safety switch to the left to unlock. Then place
a cup on the drip tray and press the lever
down – the unit dispenses up to 13 ounces of
hot water at a time. If desired, return the safety
lock to the locked position (to the right) after
dispensing water.
NOTE: You can remove the drip tray to
accommodate tall mugs.
5. After dispensing
The heater will immediately begin heating
more water. The Water Ready indicator will
again flash until water reaches serving
temperature.
NOTE: The Add Water indicator will appear
in the display if more water is needed.
6. Turning off Hot Water System
To turn off your Hot Water System at any
time, press the Hot Water On/Off button. The
indicator will turn off, but the Water Ready
indicator will remain lit until water has cooled
below serving temperature.
BREW PAUSE
™
FEATURE
This feature interrupts the flow of coffee from
the basket to let you pour that first cup mid-
brew. Because the flavor profile of coffee
brewed at the start of a cycle differs from that
brewed toward the end, be aware that using
this feature will weaken the flavor strength of
the finished pot.
NOTE: Removing carafe for more than 20
seconds may cause filter basket to overflow.

CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
Always turn unit off and remove the plug from
the electrical outlet before cleaning.
Lift up the coffeemaker reservoir cover. Remove
and discard the paper filter and ground coffee.
If using a permanent filter, remove and discard
coffee. The filter basket and permanent filter can
be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed
thoroughly, or cleaned in the upper rack of the
dishwasher. Dry all parts after use.
Do not put any water in the unit once the filter
basket has been removed. Wipe the area under
the filter basket with a damp cloth.
Remove the carafe from the heating plate.
Discard any remaining coffee. The carafe and lid
can be washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed
thoroughly or placed in a dishwasher. The carafe
and carafe lid should be placed on the upper
rack only.
Do not use any scouring agents or harsh cleaners
on any part of the coffeemaker.
Never immerse base unit in water or other liquids.
To clean base, simply wipe with a clean, damp
cloth and dry before storing. Fingerprints and other
blemishes on the housing can be washed off with
soap and water or a nonabrasive cleaning solution.
Wipe heater plate with a clean, damp cloth. Never
use rough, abrasive materials or cleansers to clean
the heater plate. Do not dry the inside of the water
reservoir with a cloth, as lint may remain.
Maintenance: Any other servicing should be
performed by an authorized service representative.
EMPTYING THE HOT
WATER RESERVOIR
If your Hot Water System has not been used for
more than one week, or if you plan to store your
Coffee PLUS
®
unit, we suggest emptying the
reservoir completely. Place it over the sink, and pull
the water release tab from the bottom of the unit to
drain the Hot Water System reservoir. Once empty,
replace the release tab.
NOTE: Hot water reservoir should be emptied
only when the unit is cool. To avoid injury, do
not empty the reservoir when there is hot water
in the unit.
DECALCIFICATION
Decalcification refers to the removal of calcium
deposits that form over time on the metal parts of
the coffeemaker.
To Decalcify Your Coffeemaker
For best performance from your coffeemaker,
decalcify the unit from time to time. The frequency
depends upon the hardness of your tap water and
how often you use the coffeemaker. The flashing
Clean light will indicate when unit should be
cleaned.
If the Clean light begins to flash when the
coffeemaker is turned on, it is telling you that the
calcium buildup is interfering with the functioning
of your coffeemaker and the flavor of your coffee.
To clean, fill the water reservoir to capacity with
a mixture of one-third white vinegar and two-thirds
water. Press and hold the Clean button. When the
Clean LED indicator flashes, the coffeemaker is in
clean mode. Release the button. One cycle should
be sufficient to adequately clean the coffeemaker.
When the cycle is completed and the 5 beeps
sound, the coffeemaker will shut off. Turn the
coffeemaker on to see if the Clean light continues
to flash. If it does, turn it off and then repeat the
cleaning procedure with a fresh solution of vinegar
and water.
If the Clean light no longer flashes, turn the
coffeemaker off and then run one cycle of fresh
cold water through the unit before using the unit
again to brew coffee.
Notes on the Clean Function
To exit clean mode, just press the Clean button
again.
To Decalcify Your Hot Water System
We recommend you clean your Hot Water System
twice a year to remove any calcium residue from
the heating element.
1. Dispense and dispose of any water in the
reservoir until the Add Water displays on LCD.
2. Add 32 oz. of white vinegar to the Hot Water
reservoir. Turn the unit on to heat the vinegar.
3. Dispense 16 oz. of vinegar and dispose.
This will fill the inner tank.
4. Let the vinegar solution sit in the unit for 20
minutes. Do not dispense during this time.
5. After 20 minutes, turn the unit off and allow the
hot vinegar to cool. Then drain the internal
reservoir over a sink by removing the water
release tab from the bottom of unit.
6. When vinegar has completely drained, replace
tab.
7. Refill reservoir with water and drain the internal
reservoir again (by removing tab at the bottom
of the unit) to flush thoroughly. Replace tab.

NOTE: If water has a vinegar taste or smell,
continue to fill and dispense water until
taste or smell is gone.

not available to retailers or other commercial
purchasers or owners. We warrant that your Coffee
PLUS
®
12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker & Hot
Water System will be free of defects in materials
and workmanship under normal home use for 3
years from the date of original purchase.
We recommend that you visit our website, https://
cuisinart.registria.com, for a fast, efficient way to
complete your product registration. However,
product registration does not eliminate the need for
the consumer to maintain the original proof of
purchase in order to obtain the warranty benefits.
In the event that you do not have proof of
purchase date, the purchase date for purposes of
this warranty will be the date of manufacture.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for In-Warranty Service,
California residents have the option of returning a
nonconforming product (A) to the store where it
was purchased or (B) to another retail store that
sells Cuisinart products of the same type. The retail
store shall then, according to its preference, either
repair the product, refer the consumer to an
independent repair facility, replace the product, or
refund the purchase price less the amount directly
attributable to the consumer’s prior usage of the

USO DE ALARGADORES
El cable provisto con este aparato es corto, para
reducir el riesgo de que alguien se enganche o
tropiece con un cable más largo.
Se puede usar un cable alargador/de extensión,
siempre que respete las precauciones siguientes.
La clasificación nominal del cable alargador/de
extensión debe ser por lo menos igual a la del
aparato. El cable más largo debe ser acomodado
de tal manera que no cuelgue de la encimera/
mesa, donde puede ser jalado por niños o causar
tropiezos.
AVISO
El cable de este aparato cuenta con un enchufe
polarizado (una pata es más ancha que la otra).
Como medida de seguridad, aquel enchufe se
podrá enchufar de una sola manera en las tomas
de corriente polarizadas. Si el enchufe no entra en

IMPORTANTE

ocurra, no muela el café demasiado fino, no use

y no sobrellene el filtro.
Precaución: Nunca abra la tapa durante la
preparación, aunque líquido no esté bajando,
ya que agua o café muy calientes pueden rebosar
del portafiltros y causar quemaduras. Si el café no
se escurre debidamente durante la preparación,
desenchufe el aparato y espere 10 minutos antes
de abrir la tapa y examinar el portafiltros.

1. Ponga la caja sobre una superficie
espaciosa, plana y segura.
2. Retire el manual de instrucciones y otros
folletos de la caja.
3. Voltee la caja para que repose en su lado
y retire la cafetera.
4. Aleje la caja y levante el material de
embalaje.
5. Agarre la jarra por el asa, y retírela de la
placa y de la bolsa protectora.
6. Quite la bolsa protectora que envuelve
la cafetera.

SUGERENCIAS
PARA LA
PREPARACIÓN
DE UN BUEN CAFÉ
ELEMENTO 1: EL AGUA
El café está constituido por un 98% de
agua. Por lo tanto, la calidad del agua es
tan importante como la del café. Si el
agua tiene mal sabor, el café tendrá mal
sabor. Por eso Cuisinart equipó su
cafetera con un filtro de agua de carbón
que elimina el cloro y el mal sabor y olor,
para preparar café puro, taza tras taza.
ELEMENTO 2: EL CAFÉ
Aunque un 98 % del brebaje es agua,
el sabor proviene del café. Para preparar
un brebaje de calidad, debe usar
ingredientes de calidad. Elija café fresco,
en granos enteros. Compre un suministro
de aprox. dos semanas a la vez, no más,
porque una vez molidos los granos,
su sabor se deteriora rápidamente.
ELEMENTO 3: EL GRADO
DE LA MOLIENDA
La molienda es primordial para preservar
el sabor del café. Café molido muy fino
producirá un café amargo. También
puede atascar el filtro. Café molido muy
grueso dejará pasar el agua demasiado
rápidamente, lo que producirá un café
aguado. Se recomienda usar un grado
de molienda medio-fino.
ELEMENTO 4: LAS
PROPORCIONES
Para que el café sea perfecto, ni muy
débil ni muy fuerte, se debe usar la
proporción adecuada de café y agua.
Siga las pautas en la sección
“INSTRUCCIONES DE USO” y ajuste
las proporciones al gusto.

CONTROLES DE LA CAFETERA
1. Pantalla
1a. Indicadores de temperatura de la placa
calentadora: “L” (bajo), “M” (medio),
“H” (alto).

La cafetera Coffee PLUS
®
ha sido diseñada para
preparar café y servir agua caliente, por separado
o al mismo tiempo. Es perfecta para cualquier
ocasión.
PROGRAMACIÓN
CÓMO FIJAR LA HORA
Al enchufar la cafetera, “12:00” (la hora por
defecto) aparecerá en la pantalla, parpadeando.
Si deja de parpadear, mantenga presionado el
botón HR o MIN para volver al modo de fijación
de la hora.
CÓMO FIJAR LA HORA
Y LOS MINUTOS
Presione el botón HR para fijar la hora y el botón
MIN para fijar los minutos.
Mantenga presionado el botón para desplazarse
por las horas o los minutos más rápidamente, o
presione el botón repetidamente para avanzar en
incrementos de una hora o de un minuto.
Compruebe que el indicador “PM” aparezca en la
pantalla cuando fije una hora de tarde/noche.
CÓMO FIJAR LA HORA DE
ENCENDIDO AUTOMÁTICO
1. Mantenga presionado el botón PROG por
2 segundos; la hora por defecto (12:00) o la
hora previamente fijada aparecerá en la
pantalla, parpadeando.
Siga las instrucciones de la sección “CÓMO
FIJAR LA HORA” para programar la hora
de encendido automático deseada. Cinco
segundos después de terminar la programación,
la unidad saldrá automáticamente del modo
de programación y el indicador luminoso se
iluminará para indicar que el encendido
automático ha sido activado.
NOTA: Para salir del modo de
programación en cualquier momento,
simplemente presione nuevamente el
botón PROG otra vez.
2. Para activar el encendido automático
usando una hora previamente fijada:
Presione el botón PROG; la hora previamente
fijada aparecerá en la pantalla y el indicador
luminoso se iluminará. Luego, la hora regular
aparecerá en la pantalla. El indicador del
botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF se encenderá
cuando empiece el ciclo de preparación. Se
apagará al final del ciclo “mantener caliente”.
3. Para desactivar la preparación automática:
Presione el botón PROG iluminado; la luz se
apagará, lo que indica que el modo ha sido
desactivado.
CÓMO PROGRAMAR EL TIEMPO
DE APAGADO AUTOMÁTICO
1. Mantenga presionado el botón BREW/
OFF/AUTO OFF por 2 segundos; el tiempo
por defecto (2 horas) o el tiempo de apagado
automático previamente fijado aparecerá en
la pantalla, parpadeando.
Use los botones HR y MIN para programar
otro tiempo de apagado automático, desde 0
hasta 4 horas después del final del ciclo de
preparación.
2. Para salir del modo de programación
y confirmar el tiempo de apagado
automático: No toque ningún botón; la
unidad saldrá del modo de programación
automáticamente después de 5 segundos.
NOTA: El indicador luminoso del botón
CARAFE TEMP (temperatura de la placa)
se iluminará cuando la cafetera ingrese al
ciclo “mantener caliente”. Presione
repetidamente el botón CARAFE TEMP
para ajustar la temperatura de la placa
a la temperatura deseada, “L” (baja),
“M” (media) o “H” (alta), y mantener el
café fresco a la temperatura que prefiera.
NOTA: También puede hacer esto antes
o durante la preparación.
ANTES DEL PRIMER USO
Se recomienda limpiar el sistema interno

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
DE LA CAFETERA
Siga las instrucciones detalladas en la sección
“ANTES DEL PRIMER USO”.
1. Instale los filtros de agua de carbón
Siga las instrucciones de preparación e
instalación de los filtros a la izquierda.
2. Llene el depósito de agua de la cafetera
Abra la tapa del depósito. Agregue agua
hasta el nivel deseado, fijándose en las
marcas en el costado de la unidad.
3. Agregue café molido
Levante la tapa de la cafetera para acceder al
portafiltros. Agarre el portafiltros por el asa y
levántelo. Instale un filtro de papel n.° 4 o un
filtro permanente Cuisinart
®
. Compruebe que
el filtro está completamente abierto y
correctamente instalado. Puede resultar útil
doblar y aplanar las costuras del filtro de
papel de antemano. Agregue 1 cucharada
llena de café molido por taza (145 ml) de
café. Ajuste la cantidad de café molido a
gusto.
NOTA: Esta cafetera tiene una capacidad
máxima de 15 cucharadas de café molido.
No exceda esta cantidad; esto podría
provocar un derrame, especialmente si el
café ha sido molido muy fino.
Vuelva a colocar el portafiltros en su sitio y
presione firmemente la tapa para asegurarse
de que está bien cerrada.
FILTROS DE AGUA
DE CARBÓN
Su cafetera cuenta con dos filtros
de carbón (una para la cafetera y otra
para el dispensador de agua caliente)
que eliminan el cloro y el mal olor y sabor
del agua corriente.
Instalación de los filtros de agua
• Retire los filtros de sus envoltorios y
remójelos en agua fría por 15 minutos.
• Retire los soportes ubicados en los
depósitos de agua de la cafetera y del
dispensador de agua caliente (véase el
diagrama en la página 5).
• Abra los soportes.
• Instale los filtros en los soportes y cierre
estos. Importante: Haga esto con mucho
con cuidado; si no instala el filtro de manera
correcta, la membrana del filtro puede
romperse.
• Enjuague los filtros en agua fría por
10 segundos para limpiarlos, con las
aberturas directamente bajo el flujo de agua.
• Permita que los filtros se sequen por
completo.
• Vuelva a colocar cada soporte de filtro en
el depósito adecuado, empujándolos hasta
el fondo.
NOTA: Se recomienda cambiar los filtros
de agua cada 60 días o 60 usos, o más
frecuentemente si el agua
es dura.

4. Coloque la jarra en la placa y enchufe
la unidad
Coloque la jarra en la placa calentadora,
cerciorándose de que la tapa de la cafetera y
la tapa del depósito de agua están cerradas.
Enchufe el cable en una toma de corriente.
5. Fije sus preferencias
a. Si desea preparar menos de 5 tazas
de café, presione el botón 1–4.
b. Ponga el control de temperatura de la
placa calentadora en el nivel deseado:
“L” (baja), “M” (media) o “H” (alta).
6. Empiece la preparación
Presione el botón BREW/OFF/AUTO OFF
para empezar la preparación.
7. Después de la preparación
El aparato emitirá 5 pitidos al final del ciclo
de preparación. El café seguirá bajando del
filtro por varios segundos.
NOTA: Puede que la tapa del depósito
de agua esté caliente durante e
inmediatamente después de la
preparación; permita que se enfríe por
un mínimo de 10 minutos antes de abrir
el depósito de agua.

Una vez caliente el agua, permanecerá
encendido.
4. Sirva el agua
Para servir agua, compruebe que el botón de
bloqueo de seguridad ubicado debajo de la
palanca dispensadora está en la posición
“UNLOCK”. De no ser así, simplemente
deslícelo hacia la izquierda. Ponga una taza
debajo del pico dispensador y baje la
palanca dispensadora. La unidad puede
servir hasta 13 oz (385ml) de agua caliente a
la vez. Si desea volver a asegurar la palanca,
deslice el botón de bloqueo hacia la derecha
(posición “LOCK”).
NOTA: La rejilla de la bandeja de goteo
puede retirarse para colocar tazas altas.
FUNCIÓN DE PAUSA AL SERVIR
BREW PAUSE
™
La función Brew Pause
™
(pausa al servir)
permite sacar la jarra de la placa para servirse
una taza de café antes del final del ciclo de
preparación. Nota: Tenga presente que hacer
esto cambiará el sabor y la intensidad final del
café, ya que el sabor y la intensidad cambian
durante el ciclo de preparación.
NOTA: La función Brew Pause™ detiene el
flujo durante solamente 20 segundos; no deje
la jarra fuera de la placa por más tiempo o
esto puede causar un derrame.

5. Después de servir agua
La resistencia empezará inmediatamente a
calentar más agua. El indicador “WATER
READY” (agua lista) empezará a parpadear y
permanecerá encendido cuando el agua esté
caliente.
NOTA: Si el indicador de nivel bajo “ADD
WATER“ (agregar agua) aparece en la
pantalla, agregue más agua en el depósito.
6. Cómo apagar el dispensador de agua
Simplemente presione el botón HOT WATER

Siempre apague y desenchufe el aparato
antes de limpiarlo.
Abra el depósito de agua de la cafetera. Saque y
tire el filtro de papel. Si ha usado el filtro dorado,
retírelo y tire los posos de café. El portafiltros
puede lavarse a mano, con detergente y agua
tibia, o en la bandeja superior del lavavajillas.
Permita que todas las piezas se sequen.
No vierta agua en la unidad después de haber
retirado el portafiltros. Limpie el área bajo el
portafiltros con un paño húmedo.
Saque la jarra de la placa calentadora.
Tire o refrigere el café restante. Lave la jarra
y la tapa de la jarra a mano, con agua tibia y
detergente, o en la bandeja superior del
lavavajillas.
No use productos o materiales abrasivos para
limpiar el aparato.
No sumerja la base en agua ni en ningún otro
líquido. Limpie la base con un paño húmedo y
séquela antes de guardar el aparato. Las huellas
dactilares y otras manchas pueden quitarse con
agua y detergente, o con una solución limpiadora
no abrasiva. Limpie la placa calentadora con un
paño húmedo. Nunca use materiales ásperos
o limpiadores abrasivos para limpiar la placa.
No seque el interior del depósito de agua con
un paño ya que esto puede dejar pelusas en
el mismo.
Mantenimiento: Cualquier otro servicio debe ser
realizado por un técnico/representante de servicio
autorizado.
CÓMO VACIAR EL DEPÓSITO
DE AGUA DEL DISPENSADOR
DE AGUA CALIENTE
Se recomienda vaciar el depósito de agua del
dispensador de agua caliente antes de guardar la
unidad, o si el dispensador de agua caliente no ha
sido usado por más de una semana. Coloque el
aparato por encima del fregadero y abra el tapón
del depósito de agua caliente ubicado debajo de
la unidad. Una vez vacío el depósito, cierre el
tapón.
NOTA: Permita que el aparato se enfríe antes
de vaciar el depósito de agua. Para evitar las
quemaduras, no vacíe el depósito mientras aún
hay agua caliente en la unidad.
DESCALCIFICACIÓN
Con el tiempo, depósitos de calcio/sarro se
acumulan en las partes metálicas de la cafetera.
Cómo descalcificar la cafetera
Para lograr un rendimiento óptimo, descalcifique
la unidad regularmente. La frecuencia de la
descalcificación dependerá de la dureza del agua
y de la frecuencia de uso de la cafetera. Si el
indicador luminoso del botón CLEAN empieza
a parpadear, esto significa que hay que
descalcificar el sistema interno de la cafetera,
ya que el calcio/sarro puede afectar el desempeño
de la cafetera y el sabor del café. Para
descalcificar la unidad: Llene el depósito de agua
hasta la capacidad máxima con una mezcla de un
tercio de vinagre y dos tercios de agua. Mantenga
presionado el botón CLEAN. Cuando el indicador
luminoso del botón CLEAN empiece a parpadear,
la cafetera está en el modo de descalcificación.
Suelte el botón. Un ciclo debería ser suficiente
para descalcificar la unidad. Al final del ciclo
de descalcificación (indicado por 5 pitidos),
la cafetera se apagará. Encienda la cafetera.
Si el indicador luminoso sigue parpadeando,
haga un segundo ciclo de descalcificación,
usando una nueva solución de agua con vinagre.
Si está apagado, repita estos pasos con un
tanque de agua fresca para eliminar el olor
a vinagre.
Notas acerca de la función de descalcificación
Para salir del modo de descalcificación,
simplemente presione el botón CLEAN otra vez.

Cómo descalcificar el dispensador
de agua caliente
Se recomienda descalcificar el sistema interno
del dispensador de agua caliente dos veces
al año.
1. Vacíe el depósito de agua del dispensado
de agua o sirva agua hasta que el indicador
“ADD WATER” (agregar agua) aparezca en
la pantalla.
2. Vierta 32 oz (945 ml) de vinagre blanco en el
depósito de agua del dispensador de agua.
Encienda la unidad para calentar el vinagre.
3. Sirva 16 oz (475 ml) de vinagre en un vaso;
esto llenará el depósito interno.
4. Deje el vinagre actuar por 20 minutos.
No sirva nada durante este tiempo.
5. Después de 20 minutos, apague el aparato
y permita que el vinagre caliente se enfríe.
Vacíe el depósito, quitando el tapón ubicado
debajo de la unidad.
6. Una vez vacío el depósito, cierre el tapón.
7. Llene el depósito con agua, y luego vacíelo
otra vez, quitando el tapón ubicado debajo
de la unidad. Vuelva a cerrar el tapón.
NOTA: Si el agua tiene olor o sabor a
vinagre, continúe llenando el depósito con
agua y sirviendo agua hasta que el olor
o el sabor a vinagre hayan desaparecido.

Garantía limitada de tres años
Esta garantía es para los consumidores que
residen en los EE.UU. solamente. Usted es un
consumidor si posee una Cafetera programable
de 12 tazas (2.85 L) con dispensador de agua
caliente Coffee PLUS® que fue comprada en una
tienda para uso personal, familiar o casero. A
menos que la ley aplicable exija lo contrario,
esta garantía no es para los minoristas u otros
consumidores/compradores comerciales. Cuisinart
garantiza este producto contra todo defecto de
materiales o fabricación durante 3 años después
de la fecha de compra original, siempre que el
aparato haya sido usado para uso doméstico
y según las instrucciones.
Se recomienda llenar el formulario de registro
disponible en https://cuisinart.registria.com a fin
de facilitar la verificación de la fecha de compra
original de este producto. Sin embargo, no es
