#1 Does this purchase comes with coffee filters or you have to buy them separate?
It comes with a pack of filters. If you normally make a full pot, you should order real Bunn filters, as they are a little taller. Discount filters are shorter, and when making a full pot, the grounds may overflow the top of the filter and you'll end up with chewy coffee!
No it does not use a cone filter. I’ve had this Bunn for over 5 years. We use only large Bunn coffee filters
#3 Can you see down into the carafe to tell about how much coffee is left? Is the carafe lid removable? In one picture it looks wide, another looks small
Yes you can look down to see how much coffee is left. And yes the lid is removable, it screws off.
No automatic shutoff this coffee maker is designed to keep the water hot in the water reservoir. If you want to turn it off you can add a smart plug like the amazon smart plug and shut the power off to it remotely. That's what I do in our vacation rental when no one is staying there.
#6 Is this bunn speed brew coffeemaker itself bpa & bps free?
I had spoken to their customer service and had asked them the same question. They told me that it’s BPA free. I told them that I was surprised that they didn’t even include this basic information in their product description.
#7 Can you fit your hand inside the carafe for easy cleaning?
I found by accident that Finish Gel brand of auto dishwasher detergent with hot or boiling water works great at cleaning my metal carafe. Plus a long handled brush helps to get at the bottom corners. Interestingly Calgon did not work as good.
