#1 Does this auto cut off after the eggs are boiled?

No the buzzer goes off, so you know to turn it off, for the way you wanted it cooked per amount of water you put in. Water amount beaker comes with the cooker.

#2 Can the hard boiled eggs be used for coloring Easter eggs?

The cooker only holds about 1 inch of water to cook the eggs. Basically, it steams them. All of the water is gone when the eggs are done. So no, you can not use it to color eggs.

#3 Does the egg cooker require you to poke the eggs prior to cooking them?

Yes. I put the eggs in the cooker, hold the top of the egg with my thumb and forefinger and gently push the pin into the top of the egg. It's very easy to do.

#4 Does this have auto shutoff

No, it doesn't have auto shutoff
