Fit the removable plate onto the base of the
appliance (D).
Place the collection tray in the cooking position
(E)(F).
Plug the cord into a mains socket (G): the red
indicator light comes on and the appliance starts to
heat up.
• Set the thermostat to suit the chosen recipe (H). The
position of the thermostat during pre-heating is the
same as that used for cooking.
• Pre-heat the appliance for about 5 minutes (J).

the Thermo-Spot turns solid red
when the appliance is perfectly preheated and ready
to cook.
On first use, the appliance may smell slightly and
possibly give off smoke for the first few minutes. This
is normal.
Check that your electric supply is compatible
with the power and the voltage indicated under
the appliance.
Plug the appliance into a wall socket with an
earth connection.
Supply the appliance through a residual current
device (RCD) having a tripping current not
exceeding 30mA.
If an extension lead is used:
it must be with an incorporated earth
connection;
take every precaution to ensure that people
cannot become caught up or trip over an
extension lead.
The supply cord should be regularly examined for
signs of damage and the appliance is not to be
used if the cord is damaged.
Make sure that the electric power supply is
compatible with the power rating and voltage
indicated on the bottom of the appliance.
If the cable of the appliance is damaged, it must
be replaced by a special cable or unit available
from the manufacturer or its after-sales service.
• This appliance is not intended to be operated by
means of an external timer or separate remote-
control system.
Parts marked with the logo must not come into
contact with foodstuffs and drinks.
Do not place the
appliance directly on
anything fragile
("Bulgomme" type
tablecloth, glass table
top, varnished surface,
etc.).
Do not touch the metal
parts of the appliance
during heating or
operation because they
are very hot (M).
Never leave the
appliance unsupervised.
Don’t move your
appliance when
cooking.
To avoid spoiling your
product, do not use
flambé recipes in
connection with it at
any time.
Do not use aluminium
foil or other objects
between the plate and
the food being cooked.
Do not remove the
grease collection tray
while cooking. If the
grease collection tray
becomes full when
cooking: let the
appliance cool down
before emptying.
To preserve the non-
stick properties of the
coating, do not cook
food in aluminium foil.
Never leave the
appliance unattended
when in use.
