This will lash until the water either
reaches the required temperature

An acoustic signal indicates
when the water has reached the

can now be used.
Note: to change the required
temperature of the water while
it is heating, simply turn the
temperature selection knob (8).
Note: dierent teas require
dierent brewing temperatures.
Brewing a delicate variety at too
high a temperature can make it
taste bitter. The BODUM® water
kettle with adjustable temperature
settings is ideally suited to
preparing any type of tea. There
are ive temperature settings to
choose from. (60°C; 70°C; 80°C;
90°C and boil)

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Scale ilter (2)
Scale, or calcium, is a natural
substance that forms when hard
water is boiled. The ilter (2) serves
to retain the calcium in the water
kettle.
Cleaning and removal of the ilter
It is important to clean the ilter
(2) regularly. The ilter (2) clips into
the body and can be removed by
pulling it upwards from the body. It
can be cleaned by gentle brushing
with a soft brush under running
water.
Kettle clean and decale
Remove scale using either a
proprietary de-scaling product
suitable for plastic kettles
(following the instructions
carefully), or citric acid.
We recommend using citric acid
as follows:
Boil 1l/34oz litre of water, then
unplug the kettle and stand it in an
empty sink or bowl. Add 50gm of
citric acid crystals gradually, then
leave the kettle to stand.
As soon as the eervescence
subsides, empty the kettle and
rinse it thoroughly with cold water.
Wipe the outside of the kettle
thoroughly with a damp cloth to
remove all traces of citric acid
which may damage the inish.
Do not use a more concentrated
solution. Ensure that the electrical
connections are completely dry
before using the kettle. Citric acid
crystals are available at most
chemists.
Failure to de-scale may invalidate
the guarantee.
Never use chemicals, steel wool
or abrasive agents to clean the
exterior of the kettle.
Only clean the appliance using a
damp cloth.
Never immerse the item in water:
remember this is an electrical
applicant.
Storage
Note: Ensure that the mains power
supply is switched o when you
are not using the kettle.
Any other servicing should be
performed by an authorized
service representative.
