SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Power Cord
A short power-supply cord is to be
provided to reduce risks resulting
from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in
their use.
If an extension cord is used, the
marked electrical rating of the
extension cord should be at least
as great as the electrical rating of
the appliance, if the appliance is of
the grounded type, the extension
cord should be grounding type
3-wire cord. The longer cord
should be arranged so that it will
not drape over the counter top or
table top where it can be pulled
on by children or tripped over
unintentionally.
Switching o the kettle manually
The ON/OFF button (7) can be used
to switch the kettle o before the
water has reached the required
temperature.
Safety cut-o
The kettle is protected against
damage resulting from use with an
insuicient volume of water. A safety
cut-o will automatically disconnect
its
power supply if the heating
element overheats. Should the
kettle ever boil dry during operation,
you must leave it to cool for 10
minutes before reilling it with cold
water. The safety cut-o will reset
automatically once it has cooled.
BEFORE USING THE KETTLE
Clean the kettle before using
it for the irst time by illing it
completely (to the MAX mark) (4)
with water, boiling the water, and
then discarding the water.
HOW TO USE THE KETTLE
Filling the kettle
Remove the kettle from its base (6).
Open the lid (1), ill the kettle with
water to the desired level then close
the lid (1). The kettle must contain a
minimum of 0.25l (5) and should be
illed no higher than the MAX mark
(4). This prevents it from switching
o before the water has boiled or
reached the required temperature.
Connecting to the electrical supply
After illing the kettle, place it on its
base (6). Check the kettle is properly
seated on the base (6).
Connect the kettle to the electrical
supply; an acoustic signal indicates
that it is ready.
Now select the required water
temperature by turning the
temperature selection knob (8)
