Philips PD700/37 Portable DVD Player

It does have an external plug to recharge the unit. I have not tried to play a burned disc.

This unit does not come with a remote. The Phillips brand I had before this one stopped working after 4 years and we enjoyed the remote with the previous Phillips. I needed another portable anyway, so we also purchased the Sony DVP-FX750 7-Inch which does have a remote, and we are very pleased. Again, the replaced Phillips portable works just as good as our previous one, but with no remote

I'm not sure. I bought min as a Christmas gift so I didn't test it prior to the return period. When they finally tried to use it the item powered on but will not play DVDs. I recommended trying it as soon as you get it.
