Prevention of accidents at home
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or ins-
truction concerning use of the appliance by an adult responsible for their safety. Children should be super-
vised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appliance is operating.
Never touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.
Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in or in use. Never run the appliance empty.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use. Close supervision is necessary when any ap-
pliance is used by or near children.
Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such
as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
It is necessary to add 1,5 l of water for the appliance to work properly. Do not forget to refill the water
pan every 60 minutes on average. However, the preparation of certain recipes makes the water level go down
more quickly. To prevent any problems, check the water level regularly and never leave the appliance
running unsupervised.
If you have to add water during cooking: • switch off the appliance • using a pot holder or a pull handle,
carefully pull the water pan towards you, only partially removing it. • fill the water pan with a maximum of
1,5 l of water using a jug- 8a - 8b - 8c • replace the water pan under the element support (do this with care
so as not to spill the water) • switch on the appliance again - 10 - 11.
Your appliance possesses a thermal safety system. This cuts the power supply in the event of over-
heating and the indicator light switches off. This is often due to a lack or an absence of water in the
water pan. Likewise, if an unusually large amount of smoke is being given off, unplug your appliance
immediately.
Leave it to cool down for a while. If you subsequently wish to turn it on again, refill the water pan and then
plug it in again.
