Quick Start Guide
Cycle Status Lights Indicate Cycle Progress and Communicate Errors
TO PAUSE THE WASHER:
If you need to pause the washer during the Soak/
Wash, Rinse, or Final Spin portion of the cycle,
PRESS and HOLD the START button for 3 seconds;
release the button when the Lid Locked LED is
ashing. The washer will unlock if not spinning;
if spinning, the washer will not unlock until it stops
(this may take several minutes if spinning at high
speed). If the lid remains open for more than 10
minutes after lling stops, the washer will drain and the cycle
will end; this is important because on vended washers, the
user will lose their money when the cycle is cancelled.
TO RESTART THE WASHER AFTER PAUSING:
Close the lid and press and hold the START button
for 1/2 second.
PAUSING AND RESTARTING THE WASHER
CYCLE STATUS LIGHTS*
LID LOCK
After a cycle is started, water immediately enters the
washer during the Fill and the lid remains unlocked until
the Soak/Wash begins, allowing you the exibility to add
a garment. During the Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin, the lid
locks and the Lid Locked light turns on and remains lit.
When the lid locks and you need to add a garment, the
lid can only be opened by pressing Start for 3 seconds
and then waiting for it to unlock. The lid will only unlock
after wash basket movement has stopped. Depending on
when in the cycle you try to pause, it may take a couple of
seconds to several minutes for the lid to unlock. Close the
lid and press START to resume the cycle.
WHAT’S NEW UNDER THE LID?
SENSING LOAD
This LED indicates the washer is
determining the load size and type.
After sensing the load, the washer lls to the appropriate level with
water. If the lid is closed when the washer is done lling, the lid will
lock and the washer will begin operation.
SOAK/WASH
You will hear the agi-peller moving the
load. The motor sounds may change
at different stages in the cycle. The wash time is determined by the
selected cycle and sensed load size.
RINSE
You will hear sounds similar to the wash
cycle as the washer rinses and moves the
load. You may hear the motor turning on briey (short hum) to move
the basket while lling. Fabric softener will be added in the rinse
cycle if an optional dispenser is installed. It is normal to hear lling,
spinning, and draining during the rinse cycle.
FINAL SPIN
The washer spins the load at increasing
speeds for proper water removal, based
on the selected cycle and spin speed.
DONE
Once the cycle is complete, this light
will come on.
LID LOCKED
To allow for higher spin speeds, the lid
will lock and the Lid Locked light will
turn on. When this light is lit, the lid is locked and cannot be
opened. When this light is blinking, the washer is paused or
preparing to lock. When this light is off, the lid can be opened.
If you need to open a locked lid, press and hold START for
3 seconds.
During normal operation, none of the lights are on until the start
of a cycle, then they will indicate the status of the cycle sequence
after a cycle is started.
If the washer is in error, ALL cycle
status lights will be on.
1. Unplug washer, wait 45 seconds,
then plug in washer again.
2. If all status lights remain lit, call servicer.
*Applies only to select models.
SOUNDS
At different stages of the wash cycle, you may hear
sounds and pauses that are different from those of
your previous washer. There will be different kinds
of humming and whirring sounds as the agitator moves
the load. And, sometimes, you may hear nothing at all
as the washer allows time for clothes to soak.
PROGRESSIVE SPRAY RINSE
All cycles default to a progressive spray rinse. During
these cycles, you will hear water enter the washer as
the tub spins, allowing the rinse water to penetrate
clothes. Check the “Cycle Guide” in the Use and Care
Guide for details.
