BLADE REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
CAT. NO. 48-22-4220
REMOVE BLADE:
- Remove the three Screws (1) from the housing.
- Remove the Blade Pin (6).
- Pull the movable handle away to make room for blade.
- Lift the Blade (10) up a bit and remove it.
INSTALL NEW BLADE:
- Make sure the Spring (8) is positioned
correctly in the spring slot of the
housing. (See Fig. A)
- Pull the movable handle away slightly
to make room for the Blade (10).
- Place the Blade (10) around the locking mechanism and make
sure the spring pin end portion sticks up through the smaller
hole of the blade. (See Fig. B)
- Put the black Blade Pin (6) back in the large hole of the blade.
- Replace cover of tool on top and replace the three Screws (1)
back into the housing.

Prior to installing right housing, be sure blade (5) is positioned
as shown, with inside corner of blade against bottom blade pin
(3) and blade return spring (2) engaged in tear shaped hole.
Place right housing onto left housing/blade assembly. Secure
with three screws (1) and tighten to 15-16 kg-cm (13-14 in-lbs).
Place blade return spring (2)
into the channel of housing.
Rotate the spring arm as shown
until it catches raised ledge.
With the arm of blade return spring (2) resting
on ledge in left housing, place round hole of
blade (5) onto top blade pin(3).
Rotate blade so 'tear shaped' hole
catches spring arm as shown.
