Our Origin
The outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020 brought an online shopping boom and a new lockdown lifestyle, consequently increasing the demand for large buildings for either storage or dwelling
needs. As a household dehumidifier manufacturer ourselves, we sensed the pressing need for commercial dehumidifiers that could maintain an appropriate humidity condition for good storage
or living. Therefore, we started to extend beyond producing household dehumidifiers into the commercial field, in an attempt to not only create a solution but to also challenge the monotonous
designs embodied by the existing commercial dehumidifiers.
To convey our message, we blended in a touch of creativeness into the appliances’ designs. We drew inspiration from luxury clothing, and therefore, elegance and boldness had become our antithesis
to appliances’ predominating tedious design. With the brand concept “sweep away the unwanted”, we hope to invigorate everyone not to be bothered by the depressing moments, but instead
to boldly overcome whatever that comes before us.
Our Style
Guided by our unique perspective, we challenge commercial dehumidifiers' predominant boring design, adopting boldness in our product design instead. Specifically, we hope to make our product
“sweep away the unwanted”by integrating high-performance components. Our Hurrikan is unique for achieving a balance between appearing elegant and being powerful. Hurrikan represents
a revolution: the brand transforms a field that was previously cumbersome into a stage for boldness, bringing new aesthetic standards to appliance design.
Our Logo
Hurricane is central to Hurrikan's product designs: it epitomizes nature's almighty force and symbolizes the perpetual pursuit of power, clearness, and relentlessness. Hurrikan's logo design thus
resembles tornado, bearing an elegantly modest but implicitly robust appearance. Hurricane as the design element also perfectly aligns with Hurrikan's ideal-to lead a vigorous, bold, and cleansed life.
HURRIKAN's STORY
Hurrikan is an American luxury home appliance and specialty retailer headquartered in New York City. In 2022, Hurrikan introduced the industry-leading commercial
dehumidifier as we know it today. We're proud to build on our legacy as the leader in dehumidifier traceability with responsibly sourced, expertly crafted dehumidifiers
that celebrate technology in all its forms.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ON SERVICING
Please follow these warnings when servicing an appliance with R32.
1. Area safety check
Prior to beginning work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are necessary to minimize the risk of ignition. Prior to repairing the refrigerating system, the following precautions
shall be complied.
2. Work procedure
Work shall be undertaken under a controlled procedure so as to minimize the risk of exposure to a flammable gas or vapor during the process.
3. General work area
All maintenance staff and others working in the local area shall be instructed on the nature of work being carried out. Work in confined spaces shall be avoided. The area around the workspace
shall be sectioned off. Ensure that the conditions within the area have been made safe by the control of flammable material.
4. Checking for the presence of refrigerant
The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during the work, to ensure the technician’s awareness of potentially flammable atmosphere. Ensure that the leak
detection equipment used is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. no sparking, adequately sealed or intrinsically safe.
5. Presence of fire extinguisher
If any high-temperature operation is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any of its associated parts, appropriate fire extinguishing equipment shall be available to hand. Have a
dry powder or CO2 fire extinguisher adjacent to the charging area.
6. No ignition sources
Don’t carry out work in relation to a refrigeration system that is exposed to any pipework that contains flammable refrigerant using any sources of ignition in order to avoid the risk of fire or explosion.
All possible ignition sources, including cigarette, should be kept far away from the site of installation, repairing, removing, and disposal. Prior to work, ensure that the surrounding area has no flammable
hazard or ignition risks, and the "No Smoking" sign shall be displayed.
7. Ventilated area
Ensure that the area is open or adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or conducting any high-temperature operation. Please keep ventilation during the process. The ventilation
should safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably expel it externally into the atmosphere.
8. Refrigeration equipment check
When electrical components are being changed, they shall be suitable for the purpose and be aligned with the correct specification according to the maintenance and service guidelines. If you
encounter any problem, please feel free to consult the manufacturer for assistance. The following checks shall be applied to installations using flammable refrigerants:
-The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant-containing parts are installed.
-The ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstructed.

5.1. CLEANING
1. Body Cleaning
Use a soft and slightly moist cloth to clean the dehumidifier’s body. Do not use cleanser, steel balls, chemically treated dust-proof cloth, gasoline, benzene, thinners, or other chemical solvents in
case of damage or distortion.
WARNING: Before cleaning or conducting maintenance, please turn off and unplug the machine to avoid the risk of electrocution.
2. Filter Cleaning
Loosen the two screws located at the bottom of the dehumidifier’s front shell. Push the front shell downward to separate it from the machine’s body.
Take the filter out of the front shell.
Use a vacuum cleaner to gently absorb the dust on the filter’s surface.
If the filter is dirty, wash it with water and a soft detergent, and dry it thoroughly afterwards.
Put the filter back in the front shell. Push the front shell upward to attach it back to the machine’s body.
Tighten the two screws located at the bottom of the dehumidifier’s front shell.
WARNING: It is strongly advised to rinse the filter every two weeks. Any dust blocking the filter will potentially affect the machine’s functionality.
