Read and become familiar with the user guide and all other literature
supplied with each alarm in your home.
WARNING! If the power harness currently wired into the structure does
not match one of the three harnesses in Figure 1, this adapter will not work,
and the new wiring harness shipped with your Kidde model will need to be
re-wired in place.
This adapter can be used to quickly allow replacement of these Kidde
legacy models with new Kidde models which use the new style connector
without having to re-wire or replace the existing legacy Kidde models wire
harness :

WARNING: Turn off AC power before attempting to connect wire
harnesses or adapters.
This alarm adapter allows the installation of new Kidde alarms to existing
"legacy" Kidde wiring harnesses. When using this adapter, the power harness
supplied with your new Kidde alarm is not used. Connect the 20-9003 adapter
to the legacy (existing) Kidde wiring harness. To install the adapter, push the
large end of the adapter into the existing wired Kidde harness and conrm it
snaps into position. Give a small tug to make sure the adapter is snapped into
place. Then insert the opposite end of the adapter into the back of the new
unit.
After installation, turn on AC power and be sure that the AC power indicator
is operating and test all your alarms following the instructions supplied by
the alarm manufacturer for your specific alarm model. If the alarms are
interconnected push the test button on each alarm and verify that all the
interconnected alarms sound when any alarm is activated. The interconnect
system should not exceed the NFPA interconnect limit of 12 smoke alarms.
TEN YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Kidde warrants that the enclosed adapter will be free from defects in
material and workmanship or design under normal use and service for
a period of ten years from the date of purchase. The obligation of Kidde
under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing the adapter or
any part which we find to be defective in material, workmanship or
design (part replacement only, no installation), free of charge, upon
receiving the adapter with proof of date of purchase, postage and
return postage prepaid, to Warranty Service Department, Kidde, 1016
Corporate Park Drive, Mebane, NC 27302.
This warranty shall not apply to the adapter if it has been damaged,
modified, abused or altered after the date of purchase or if it fails
to operate due to improper maintenance or inadequate power. Any
implied warranties arising out of this sale, including but not limited
to the implied warranties of description, merchantability and fitness
for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the above warranty
period. In no event shall the Manufacturer be liable for loss of use of
this product or for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential
damages, or costs, or expenses incurred by the consumer or any other
user of this product, whether due to a breach of contract, negligence,
strict liability in tort or otherwise.
The Manufacturer shall have no liability for any personal injury, property
damage or any special, incidental, contingent or consequential damage
of any kind resulting from gas leakage, smoke, re or explosion. Since
some states do not allow limitations of the duration of an implied
warranty or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, the above limitations or exclusions may not
apply to you. While this warranty gives you specific legal rights, you
may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
The above warranty may not be altered except in writing signed by both
parties hereto.

Este adaptador de alarma permite la instalación de nuevas alarmas Kidde

AVERTISSEMENT : couper le courant électrique CA avant de raccorder les

Cet adaptateur d'avertisseur sert à installer les nouveaux avertisseurs Kidde
sur les faisceaux de câblage Kidde « traditionnels » existants. Lorsqu'on utilise
cet adaptateur, le faisceau de câblage fourni avec votre nouvel avertisseur
Kidde n'est pas utilisé. Connecter l'adaptateur 20-9003 au faisceau de câblage
traditionnel (existant) Kidde. Pour installer l'adaptateur, enfoncer la grosse
extrémité de celui-ci dans le faisceau de câblage Kidde existant et vérier qu’il a
bien été mis en place par pression. Donner un petit coup sec pour assurer que
l’adaptateur soit bien en place. Insérer ensuite l'extrémité opposée de l'adaptateur
dans l'arrière de la nouvelle unité.
Après installation, mettez sous tension CA et vérifiez que l’indicateur
d’alimentation CA fonctionne, puis testez vos avertisseurs selon les directives
du fabricant du modèle spécique. Lorsque les avertisseurs sont interconnectés,
appuyer sur le bouton de Test de chaque avertisseur et vérifier que tous les
avertisseurs interconnectés retentissent sur activation d’un avertisseur. Le
système d'interconnexion ne doit pas dépasser la limite NFPA de 12 avertisseurs
de fumée.
