Before using this product, read and follow all notices and safety information
throughout this guide. The manufacturer and its distributors cannot be held
responsible for any damages caused by improper use or misuse of this laser device.
The owner/user is fully responsible for using this product in accordance to laser
safety regulations of the country or state where the device is being used.
FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. Operation of this device is only permitted after
completing the Laserabc A1 Laser Safety Officer (LSO) training and passing the
required test.
Please note that some other optical devices such as cameras, camcorders, video projector etc.
can be damaged if exposed to excessive laser radiation.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE. The following chapters explain important
information about lasers in general, basic laser safety and tips about how to use this
device correctly. Please read this information as it contains critical information you
must be aware of, prior to using this system.
The manufacturer is not liable for damages or a injury caused by improper installation
of the system. The installation should be carried by a qualified installer who should
follow the Laser Safety Regulations of respective country.
This projector must never be used for audience-scanning applications. The output
beam of the projector must always be at least 3 meters above the floor in the audience.
See the Operating Instructions section for further information.
1.1 Laser Radiation Hazard
1.2 Electrical & Fire Safety
THIS IS CLASS 4 LASER PRODUCT. NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE LASER BEAM OR
APERTURE. Direct or reflected exposure can cause immediate and permanent eye damage, including
blindness.
Open the package and carefully unpack everything inside.
Ensure all parts are present and in good condition.
Do not use any equipment that appears to be damaged.
If any parts are missing or damaged then please immediately notify your carrier or local distributor.
Planning: Assess the venue. Plan beam paths, safety zones (MPE/NOHD), and ensure no risk of
exposing audiences or staff.
Please use this device only according to these operating instructions.
Do not use the device if there are any visible damages on housing, connector panels, power supplies or
power cords.
Always keep all factory supplied labels on the unit and visible.
This is a laser show device, NOT a laser pointer. It must never be used for pointing purposes. This device
does not feature targeting capabilities.
Always ensure that the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) is not exceeded in any area accessible to
the public or staff. Perform a risk assessment for each installation.
Before using this product in any capacity, ensure that the unit is properly secured to prevent accidental
beam shifts and that a safety cable is used for any aerial rigging.
This product is not a toy and should be kept inaccessible to unauthorized persons before, during, and
after use. Keep away from minors.
DO NOT allow lasers to hit aircraft or enter airspace. Do not allow laser light to escape indoor settings as
this level of laser light can interfere with Aircraft operation at many miles.
Before using this product, it is the responsibility of the user to be familiar with all Federal and State
reporting and usage requirements. Laws vary by state, some US states require additional licensing
and/or registration. Many locations require operation only under the supervision of a trained Laser
Safety Officer (LSO). An FDA variance is required for any commercial or public laser show in the
United States.
For all venues you must designate safe and restricted areas of the venue where persons are or are not
allowed to be respectively. The safe areas should not be subject to any laser radiation either directly or
indirectly. By protocol, there must be at least a 3 meter buffer between safe and restricted areas on all
sides. In other words, all laser beams must terminate (ie. not be reflected away) in the restricted areas to
avoid human contact. The laser must never be aimed at or allowed to be directed or reflected toward
other people or reflective objects.
Never connect the device to dimmers, remote-controlled sockets, or electronically switched power
supplies.
Avoid using the laser on the same circuit as large appliances (especially fog machines) to prevent
voltage fluctuations.
Ensure the power connection is easily accessible for emergency disconnection.
Disconnect the device from mains power before any installation, cleaning, or maintenance work.
Maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter from highly flammable materials (decorations, curtains, etc.).
1.3 Installation & Environmental Safety
Installation must be performed by qualified and technically experienced personnel in accordance with all
local safety regulations.
This laser system is not waterproof or dust-proof. Make sure to use an appropriate cover or enclosure if
it is used in the rain, snow or similar severe environment conditions.
If subjected to large temperature changes, allow the device to reach room temperature before switching on.
Operate your laser only within the specified temperature range of 0°C (50°F) to 40°C (104°F). Failure to
do so may result in weak output, overly strong output which will diminish the life of the unit and/or large
output power swings.
Protect the device from external heat sources (e.g., spotlights, moving heads) to prevent overheating.
Ensure excellent ventilation. Do not block any ventilation openings. Maintain a minimum distance of
15cm from walls and other objects.
During use, be sure to leave an open space around all sides of the laser to facilitate airflow through the
heat sink beneath the device.
When mounting overhead, the structure (truss) must be certied to safely hold at least 10 times the
weight of the fixture.
Always secure the fixture with a safety cable/rope (rated for 10x the device weight) attached to
designated anchor points. Never lift or secure the fixture by its moving head or optical assembly.
Install the device out of public reach. The area below must be secured during installation and operation.
The projector should be installed outside areas where people may walk by or be seated.
Do not stand in front of the laser while active. While the laser is in use, anyone who may enter the beam
path must wear protective eyewear.
Mechanical Mounting: Secure the fixture to a certified truss or base using appropriate mounting clamps.
Immediately attach the safety cable to the fixture's dedicated anchor point and a secure point on the
supporting structure.
Electrical Connection: Ensure main power if off. Connect power cable to the device and then to a
suitable grounded mains outlet. Do not use a 2 prong IEC cord with this projector. You should always
hook up a laser system in such a way that you have both a primary and backup means of instantly
terminating laser emissions.
Safety Interlock: Connect an external emergency stop (E-Stop) button to the Interlock port.
Failure to follow the above precautions and other precautions contained in this user
manual, particularly with regard to human exposure to laser radiation and electrical
safety, may result in serious injury, loss of vision, electric shock or skin damage.
Class 4 lasers must be handled and operated with care and extreme caution.

10.2 Reset Function
1. Connect E-stop: Connect Interlock cable between the E-stop box and projector, Confirm secondary E-stop
port has either the bypass plug installed or a secondary interlock device attached.
1. Turn o the device using the key switch, then press the red mushroom switch on the E-stop box to
deactivate the system.
2. Connect projector power cable.
*( For extended storage, we recommend also removing the interlock box and having a professional operator retain
the keys.)*
3. Projector Power ON. Key Switch Inserted.
4. E-stop Key Swithch ON. Pull up the red mushroom switch. Connect the projector with Laserabc software
via bluetooth (or connect to any laser software box with ILDA/DMX adapter cable), and then select the pattern
on software. Notice; please choose "Light ON"/ "Allow laser output" in software.
5. Press the reset button.
6. After the Emission Delay Period, the laser projector will be ready to start the emission.

2. Turn o the main power to the projector using its power switch.
Connect E-Stop before powering on. Do not connect or disconnect while the device is
on. Otherwise it will not function properly.
9.1 E-Stop Function
Connect the E-Stop box to the laser projector as Operation demonstration photos.
* Note:The E-Stop box includes a secondary interlock port for connecting an additional interlock device (e.g., door
switch or pressuresensitive step pad). If a secondary device is not used, the bypass shunt plug must be inserted into
this port. Refer to the “Remote Interlock Connector section below for further details.
9.2 Remote Interlock Connector
The E-Stop box features a dedicated remote interlock connector, designed for integration with external
safety devices, with a working voltage of 5 V. Users can connect their own interlock equipment, such as
door switches, pressure-sensitive step pads, or emergency stop relays—directly to this port.
Laserabc A1 is supplied with "E-Stop Box" and "Remote Interlock bypass" including one cable. If user
doesn't need to connect to additional "User E-Stop Switch", "Remote Interlock bypass" should be
inserted into "Remote Interlock Connector" on "E-Stop Box".
How it works: The connector is part of a safety interlock loop. When the loop is closed (i.e., all connected
interlock devices are in a safe state), the laser is enabled. If any connected interlock device is triggered
(e.g., a door opens or a step pad is activated), the loop opens and the laser output is immediately cut off,
independent of software control.
If the user would like to use additional "User E-Stop Switch", "Remote Interlock bypass" should be
removed from "User E-Stop Connector" on "E-Stop Box".
The “User E-Stop switch” is used, then laser emission is ONLY possible, when it is in CLOSED state, and
also all other safety features are satisfied (e.g. mushroom switch, key switches, scanfail safety, ...)
An “E-STOP (Emergency Stop) is a safety feature used to immediately disable laser output in case of an
emergency. It is part of the interlock system, which is designed to ensure that all laser projectors in a
daisy-chained setup are safely controlled. If any event triggers the interlock (e.g., power loss, emergency
switch activation), the E-STOP will shut down the laser output. To resume operation, the issue must be
resolved, and the RESET button on the E-STOP remot.
Reset must be pressed, after which there’s a brief delay before the system can be used again.
USA ONLY: Remote Interlock Bypass must be inserted in the E-STOP Remote in
order to disable the interlock.
WARNING: Do not attempt a Manual Reset until the root cause of the shutdown has
been identified and fully resolved. Resetting without addressing the initial safety
trigger (e.g., an open safety door, an active emergency stop, or a person in the
hazard zone) can lead to immediate and uncontrolled hazardous exposure. This
procedure is a safety confirmation, not a troubleshooting bypass.
The following tests MUST be performed each time the projector is used.
Before performing these tests, verify that the projector is facing a safe direction (away from all people
and reflective objects) and aimed at a suitable termination surface.
10.1 E-Stop function
With the projector operating and projecting laser light, press the red E-stop switch. The projector must
shut off immediately.
Turn the red E-stop switch clockwise to release (pop-up). The projector must not emit any laser light.
Press the reset button on the E-stop box to restart the projector. The emission indicator will first blink
rapidly for 3 seconds, then become steady.
Verify that the emission indicator shows a steady light. This indicates the laser system is enabled and
ready for normal emission.
After a power failure or interlock failure (open circuit) has occurred. The projector must shut o
immediately.
Plug the power cable back in or correct the interlock to close the circuit. The projector must not emit any
laser light.
To resume operation and restore laser emission, the operator must manually press the RESET button on
the E-stop box.
Verify that the emission indicator shows a steady light. This indicates the laser system is enabled and
ready for normal emission.
10.3 Key Switch Function
The system is equipped with removable key switches on both the Laser Projector and the E-stop box.
While the projector is operating and emitting laser light, keep either key switch OFF, the laser emission
must stop immediately.
After keeping both key switches back to ON, the projector must remain off and not emit any laser light.
To resume operation and restore laser emission, the operator must manually press the RESET button on
the E-stop box.
Verify that the emission indicator shows a steady light. This indicates the laser system is enabled and
ready for normal emission.
Disregarding the Laser Emission Indicator's signals, operating the device with a
malfunctioning indicator, or covering/obstructing the indicator panel constitutes a
severe safety violation. It removes a critical layer of hazard awareness and can lead
to accidental exposure. Operation under such conditions is prohibited.
The emission indicator system consists of four LEDs on the projector and one on the E-Stop box.
LED Indicator Status:
The laser projector is equipped with a permanently installed beam blocker that physically interrupts the laser
beam when engaged. When the shutter is closed, no laser radiation is emitted from the aperture, ensuring
operator safety during alignment, adjustment, or emergency situations.
This laser is compatible with any laser control software that supports the ILDA standard.
The hardware control button on the laser unit provides instant on/off control of laser output. Use it to
quickly disable laser emission during alignment, adjustment, or as needed, without powering down the
unit.
Software control is also available for routine operation.
This projector is equipped with an active scanning safeguard system.
15.1 Overheat Protection
The unit continuously monitors its internal temperature. To prevent damage and ensure safe operation, the
laser emitter will automatically power off if an excessive internal temperature is detected
(threshold: >4C / 118°F).
15.2 Tilt and Shock Protection
An integrated vibration sensor provides an instant safety response. The laser will shut down immediately
upon detecting a strong impact or if the unit is accidentally tipped over.

To operate in DMX mode, a DMX controller must be connected to the laser device.

18.2 Radiation Emission Warning
To ensure safe operation and alert users to potential radiation hazards, the remote control application
interface is equipped with a visual warning system.
Caution Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than
those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
19.1 Plan the safe radiation area location of the product operators,
spectators and auxiliary operators
If the laser display or show is under the continuous control of an operator who can immediately
terminate laser beams in the event of a problem, a minimum separation distance of 3 m in height and
2.5 m laterally should be maintained between beams that exceed the spectator MPE and any surface
upon which spectators can reasonably be expected to stand. This condition is shown in Figure 1 and
Figure 2.

If a projection area terminates onto a balcony or near a window, where spectators can view the laser
effect, and the exposure level at the termination point is likely to be in excess of the spectator MPE, the
beams should terminate no higher than the floor level of the balcony if it has an opaque solid barrier.
This condition is shown in Figure 3.

If the laser display or show is not under the continuous control of an operator who can immediately
terminate laser beams in the event of a problem, a minimum separation distance of 3m in height and
2.5m laterally should be maintained between beams that exceed the spectator MPE exceeded by more
than a factor of 5 in the space between 3m and 6m above any surface upon which spectators can
reasonably be expected to stand. This condition is shown in Figure 4.

20.1 Maintenance
ALWAYS DISCONNECT FROM MAINS POWER BEFORE ANY MAINTENANCE.
No scheduled maintenance necessary to keep the product in compliance. Simply keep the laser free
from dust or other contaminates that could cloud or dirty the laser aperture. Cleaning the aperture, ports
and vents are the only user maintenance allowed and can ONLY be performed with the unit powered
down and locked off.
Laser aperture & ports: Clean gently with a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner.
Do not use alcohol or solvents.
Housing & vents: Wipe with a dry cloth. Use a soft brush or low-pressure air to remove dust from
ventilation grilles and fans.
Avoid turning the laser on and off frequently as it will reduce the diode life. This device does not have a
set duty cycle but we do not recommend using it for more than four hours continuously.
Plan and elevation drawings or sketches should be prepared showing locations of projectors, laser
beams, mirrors and targets, the audience, performers and pertinent architectural features. The drawings
should be checked to confirm that required separation distances are met and that spectator exposures
will not exceed the applicable MPE. Contingency plans should be prepared to assure that equipment or
projections do not obstruct or interfere with emergency exit routes during possible emergency
conditions, e.g. fire. Plans should also consider the environmental effects of rain, wind, etc. on targets,
mirrors, etc.
The planning should include the designation of one or more persons to be the laser safety officer (LSO).
The LSO should have sufficient skills to recognize and manage the risks associated with the laser display.
The role of the LSO is additional to that of the responsible person, who is in charge of installing or
operating the laser effects. It is possible that some installations will require the additional skills of a laser
protection adviser (LPA).
A record of the checks should be documented and kept.
Equipment should be secured and protected against misalignment or maladjustment between alignment
completion and the performance. Installation of the equipment in a secured projection booth or the
employment of security personnel can be necessary.
Prevent Overheating: Ensure continuous, unobstructed airflow. Do not expose to external heat.
Always treat your laser with great care as some components are very fragile and must not be subjected
to shock.
Avoid Thermal Shock: Allow the fixture to cool for 15-20 minutes after prolonged use before switching off.
Let device acclimate to room temperature before powering on.
Avoid Moisture: Keep the device dry. Always position it upwind/behind fog machines and hazers.
Power Cycling: Avoid rapid on/off switching, as this shortens the laser diode lifespan.
Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect from power and store in a cool, dry place.
20.2 Service
There are no user-serviceable parts inside, strictly no service is allowed. Do not take apart, modify or
dismantle the laser or operate it under abnormal current load (doing so will void the warranty). All internal
inspection, repair, and part replacement must be handled by authorized factory trained technicians.
The warranty is void if the label is removed, tampered with, or if damage results from:
Failure to follow these safety and operating instructions.
Improper handling or unauthorized modifications.
Neglect of maintenance guidelines (e.g., damage from overheating due to blocked vents).
Responsibilities of installers and operators
21.1 Training
Installers, modifiers and operators should have received sufficient training in laser safety to be able to
accurately assure that the MPE is not exceeded in spectator occupied areas and that the required
separations are maintained between spectators and projections that exceed the MPE.
Installers, performers and ancillary personnel should be instructed in procedures, as appropriate, to
avoid hazardous exposure in areas in which laser beam exposure levels exceed the MPE and in the
proper use of safety equipment.
21.2 Planning by installers and operators
Laser displays and shows should always be pre-planned and not improvised on the day of the event. The
purpose of planning is to allow a safety assessment of any proposed display to be carried out in sufficient
time for the necessary safety provisions to be made. The design of laser displays and shows should be
accomplished as early as possible.
When planning the location of laser projectors, consideration should be given to minimizing the chances
of accidental exposure to performers and ancillary personnel at performance time. For example, it is
preferable to place a laser projector above head height on stage, removing the need for a higher-risk
administrative control, of instructing persons to keep clear of the area, had the laser been mounted at
chest or stage height, and the need to enforce and monitor a laser controlled area.
Organizational arrangements should be considered and documented to confirm details of staff, chains of
accountability, and contact details. Any time when laser beams are emitted there should be an identified
responsible person in control of the laser effects, who is able to recognize and prevent hazardous
situations from occurring, and terminate laser effects as necessary.
Planning for how each phase of the project will be implemented and managed should take place at an
early stage. Consideration should be given to the risks that can be present at each phase, with an
appreciation that the nature of risks is likely to vary over the project lifecycle. A risk assessment should
be carried out that considers who can be affected by the installation and use of the laser effect, together
with any site-specific factors. The key findings and decided control measures, (precautions) should be
documented. When planning the implementation phases of the display, planning typically includes the
installation, alignment, laser effects programming and testing, the performance, and dismantling. On
completion of a project it is beneficial as part of the safety management process to record key actions
that worked well, and identify any issues that could benefit from improvement, so that these can be
considered for future projects.
For any laser effects that are not intended to be accessible, planning should consider how to prevent any
errant exposure and maintain separation from the laser effect.
Any laser effects that are not intended to cause exposure, but are potentially accessible, should be clearly
identified, and planning should include how to prevent accidental exposure.
The exposure caused by laser effects intended to create either audience illumination or performer
exposure should be evaluated and controlled to ensure the applicable maximum permissible exposure
(MPE) is not exceeded. Planning should include provision and time for testing the exposure levels, and
consider the effectiveness of any engineering control intended to limit exposure.
Emergency procedures should be clearly thought out, documented, and communicated to the
appropriate people identified during the planning phase of the project. This should include clear
instruction on what constitutes an emergency, and what action should be taken following an incident. In
the case of any emergency, the laser effects should be stopped. In the case of a suspected eye injury
through exposure to laser beams, unless an injury is obvious, in which case the casualty should be taken
to the nearest accident and emergency hospital, it is usual to conduct a reading test and Amsler grid
visual acuity test, to test macula function. If there is concern that it is possible an injury has occurred,
within 24 hours of exposure having occurred, the casualty should be taken to an eye hospital with full
details of the type of laser in use at the time of exposure.
Provision should be made so that there is a sufficient number of people available during laser operation
to monitor the laser effects' safe operation. Extra care should be taken for laser installations with large
numbers of devices or complex projection configurations to ensure there are enough laser effect
operators and laser spotters present during the installation and operation phases. In situations where
people are required to act as observers (spotters) to ensure the safe operation of the effect (such as
when using lasers outdoors and projecting into navigable airspace), sufficient designated spotters
should be employed so as to have a clear view of the display area, with the sole task of monitoring the
laser effect operation, and preventing any hazardous occurrences.
Notification to national or local health and safety authorities of the laser display or show can be required
and, if so required, should be made as early as possible during the planning stage.
21.3 Set-up and alignment
Ample time should be provided for set-up and alignment. The amount of time required, among other
things, should consider the number of laser projectors being used, their placement, and the complexity
of the effects they are creating. The time required should be factored into the build phase of an
installation; in particular, the alignment tasks, and verification of any exposure levels.
The area should be cleared of unnecessary personnel. The laser provider should liaise with the venue
management prior to setting up, and establish a process of communications that will be adopted prior to
turning on the laser projectors. The laser provider will normally inform the venue immediately prior to
laser beams being emitted.
Locations where the exposure levels from laser beams may exceed the MPE should be posted with
appropriate warning signs and barriers erected to restrict entry, prior to emitting any laser beams.
Alignments should be made at the lowest possible emission levels. However, it should be recognized
that the ambient light level will critically influence the lowest possible emission levels for alignment work
if this is being carried out by eye. A check should also be made at full operating power at the conclusion of
the alignment to identify any spurious beams so that corrective action can be taken.
During alignment, access should always be maintained to the control system and its emergency stop
control, so that the laser output can be quickly turned off if something unexpected happens. Often two
people are required in order for this to be the case: one making the adjustments at the laser projector,
and the other at the control system.
During set-up and alignment when laser beams can be projected in other than their final intended
directions, temporary and permanent laser controlled areas should be established and warning notices
posted in accordance with IEC TR 60825-14.
Checks should be made of controls including the correct placement and effectiveness of aperture
masking and emergency stop controls. Checks should also be made that warning signs and barriers are
in place as appropriate. Checks should be made that all components are securely mounted and locked
into position. If scan-fail safeguards are used, the correct operation of such systems should be verified.
For laser installations where multiple performances take place over a period of time, regular checks
should be carried out between performances to ensure the projection area alignment remains consistent,
and safety controls are in place and operational. A record of these checks having taken place should be
kept, and reviewed.
Coordination with safety and security personnel should be established and agreement developed of
action to be taken for notifying the operator in the event of an emergency. Spectators should not be
presumed to be cooperative with laser safety procedures or to be aware of proper procedures to follow to
protect themselves from exposure or to avoid exposing others to hazards. Spectators should not be
permitted to bring items, such as reflective balloons, flags, or phones on "selfie sticks", into the show site
if overhead beam projections are to be used.
If the laser display installation makes any part of the venue accessible to laser effects in excess of the
relevant MPE for the people expected to be present in that zone, the installer should communicate where
these areas are, and what the exposure risk is, ensuring that the appropriate management are aware so
that sufficient controls can be employed to prevent personnel being exposed to laser beams in excess of
the MPE. A record of what risks have been identified, the controls that have been agreed, and between
whom, should be kept.
The operator should have copies of any official clearances, records of alignment and operational or
pre-show checks, and operating instructions in his or her possession at the show site.
21.4 Operation
Prior to beginning high power operations, the operator should, if at all possible, perform a final low power
alignment check to assure that components have not moved since completion of the set-up. An auditable
record of this check should be maintained.
The operator should make certain that there is visual control of all projections during the laser display or
show. It is acceptable to employ observers who are in immediate communication with the operator if the
operator cannot maintain personal visual control.
In the event of an emergency shut down, the laser should not be used again until it is understood what
went wrong, and controls have been reviewed and updated to reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence. If an
incident of excess exposure is suspected, the appropriate contingency plan should be carried out,
where medical attention should be sought. Vision can initially be checked, using an Amsler grid test.
The operator and venue should record how the event proceeded, noting successful operation, or if there
were any difficulties or incidents encountered during the performance. It is beneficial to create the record
at the time of the event, which can additionally be used to review and improve the safety management on
future laser display projects.

This fail-safe mechanism ensures that the laser beam remains within the predefined safe scanning field at all
times, preventing stationary or uncontrolled laser emission that could pose a risk. The protection is effective
across the full operational range of the projector and requires no user intervention.
The system continuously monitors scanner performance in real time through integrated optical sensors. It
compares the command signal sent to the galvanometer motors with the actual mechanical feedback from
the scanners. If any discrepancy is detected between the intended and actual scanning motion—whether in
scanning speed or scanning angle—the system will immediately and automatically disable laser output.
The device will automatically detect the DAC connection and switch to ILDA operation mode.
To connect, use a splitter and ILDA adapter cable to link the software's Digital-Analog Converter (DAC / ILDA
interface) to the device’s Mini DisplayPort (Mini DP).
Once connected, open the app and enter the corresponding DMX address (device number) to activate and
confirm DMX control.
Use a splitter and DMX adapter cable to connect the controller to the device’s Mini DP port.
How It Works: Once set up, the machine will require a password to operate. Only users with the correct
password can start or control the device.
Getting Started: Before you can connect and control the laser via the app, you'll need to create an account
and set up a password for login.
The warning symbol will appear and blink on the upper right corner of the software interface whenever the
laser is actively emitting.
This alert is designed to immediately inform the operator of active radiation, prompting the use of appropriate
protective measures.
