Your Bo M is delivered with all the tools needed for general
maintenance. You will find these inside your Owner’s Toolbox - keep
it handy for future use. We also recommend holding onto your
packaging until the end of your warranty. However, if you choose to
dispose of it, we’ve designed it to be recycled.

If your Bo M is still inside a large box in your living room, pull out the plastic
tags at the bottom of the box and lift off the top of the box. Watch out for your
ceiling light.
Follow these steps to ensure that your Bo M is in tip-top condition before
taking it for a ride.

How to ride
The perfect Bo riding position
The perfect Bo riding position is whatever makes you feel most comfortable. In our experience this
is as follows:

Stand with your feet positioned forward and back (rather than side to side).

Put most of your weight through your feet, with your hands gently holding and guiding the
handlebars.

Slightly bend your knees. This has two benefits:
a.
Firstly, this helps you absorb the bumps and dips in the road surface.
b.
Secondly, it means you are more inclined to ‘carve’ when steering the vehicle, which
improves your ride experience.

As you ride, make sure you stay central above your feet and do not grip the bars too tightly -
just enough to keep yourself stable and safe.

Keep your eyes up and shoulders back, so you can see obstacles from further away.

Maintaining Bo
How to care for your Bo
Bo has been engineered to last, however regularly maintaining your Bo M is crucial to staying safe
on the road. Read this section carefully about keeping your vehicle roadworthy. We encourage you
not to make any adjustments to the vehicle that are not outlined in this document. Doing so may
void your warranty.
Before you carry out any repairs, please contact our customer service team at hello@bo.world.
If you are not confident carrying out these repairs, we recommend that you seek out one of our
recommended service locations. Details of which can be found on our support page, along with
further information on how to maintain your vehicle.
Cleaning
Clean and dry your Bo M regularly. Not only will this keep your Bo M looking awesome, but it also
helps stave off any unwanted corrosion. Use regular car bodywork cleaning kit, avoiding anything
abrasive that will damage the paintwork.
Your Bo M is designed to be used in all weather conditions with an IP66 rated electrical system, so
do not let the wet weather stop you from enjoying your Bo M. You should, however, avoid full or
partial submersion.
Routine
Maintenance
Perform the following checks regularly:
•
Tyre pressure.
•
Front and rear axle fasteners (for more information on how to do this, check out the next
section on removing the wheels). Over time these fasteners may loosen and need to be
tightened.
•
Drum brake performance.

Drum Brake Maintenance
Your Bo M uses a sealed drum brake which is super reliable and requires little maintenance. If you
feel like they are not performing correctly, this may be a reduction in braking force or a strange
noise, let our customer support team know and we will help diagnose and sort the issue. You may
find that the brake cable has slipped and needs to be re-adjusted. For information on how to adjust
your drum brake head, check out the ‘Reinstalling your front wheel’ section on page 42.
Your front wheel has bearings either side where it mounts into the front fork. It is important to
lubricate these with a water-dispelling lubricant such as GT85. Place the nozzle of the canister near
the bearing and apply a short squirt to the bearing on each side of the wheel. To prevent squeaks or
wear aim to carry this out every 400-500km, more regularly when riding in wet weather.
Battery
Care
Your Bo M has a 672Wh lithium-ion battery, which gives you up to 50km of range. To get the most
out of your battery’s performance, follow these care guidelines.
•
Turn your Bo M off before charging the battery.
•
Charge your Bo M in a clean and dry environment.
•
Unplug the charger from the socket first, and then from your Bo M.
•
Do not use 3rd party charging accessories.
•
Avoid charging in extreme temperatures. Ideally only charge the battery in temperatures
between 5°C and 40°C.
•
Do not leave your Bo M unattended while charging.
•
Give the battery a full charge at least once a month, especially if you are only using your Bo M
infrequently.
Battery safety and performance is hugely important to us, so if you have any concerns with your
battery’s performance, please contact our customer support team.

Maintenance
As stated in the previous section, you should not be carrying out repairs unless you are completely
The tyres fitted on your Bo M are tubeless, pneumatic tyres for maximum comfort. Check your tyre
pressure regularly. It can be dangerous to have over or under pressurised tyres. Your tyres should be
between the recommended range of 30-50 psi (30psi for comfort, 50psi for range). As stated on
the tyre, a tyre pressure of 50 psi should not be exceeded.
Using solid (non-pneumatic) tyres will void your warranty. When replacing the tyres, use only Bo
approved tyres which available to buy from www.bo.world/pages/accessories.
Should you need to remove a wheel, the next few pages will guide you through the setup. After any
wheel maintenance, double check the stability and the reliability of any changes you have made
before riding.
WARNING!
As with any mechanical component, a vehicle is subject to high
stresses and wear. The various materials and components may
react differently to wear or fatigue. If the expected service life
for a component has been exceeded, it may break suddenly,
therefore risking causing injuries to the user.

Cracks, scratches and discolouration in the areas subject to
high stresses indicate that the component has exceeded its
service life and should be replaced.
Self-tightening nuts and fasteners may lose their efficiency
over time and may need to be tightened.
For your front wheel, you will need:

tips
Go into your Bo toolbox to find the necessary tools and setup your Bo M on it’s kickstand
somewhere with plenty of space. We find that wheel removal and installation is easiest with the
vehicle upside down, so if you have the space, carefully place your Bo M with the Airdeck face down
on a table.

Riding Rules and Safety
Essential
reading
Your Bo M is classified as a ‘Personal Light Electric Vehicle’, and therefore, at the time of writing,
Riding on public roads may constitute an offense. It is legal, however, to use your Bo M on
private land. Check for the latest regulations on the government’s website.Regulations for this
classification of vehicle vary by area, so it is important (and your responsibility) that you familiarise
yourself with and abide by the law where you ride. Neglecting the following rules will void your
warranty.
•
The vehicle may only be used by those over the age of 16, however local regulations vary by
region.
•
The maximum permissible weight of the rider is 120kg, including any baggage that is carried.
Exceeding the weight limit will void your warranty, and will increase the likelihood of damaging
yourself or your Bo M.
•
The maximum permissible height of the user is 2.2m.
•
Only ride your Bo M if you feel confident and safe to do so.
•
Do not use your Bo M when under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication that may
impair your judgement.
•
The vehicle may only be used by one person at a time.
•
Check your local regulatory guidelines for the maximum permissible speed of your area.
•
Warning - Fire hazard and electric shock. Users are prohibited from repairing the parts.
•
It is not recommended to use it at an altitude higher than 2000 meters.
•
Exposure to UV rays, rain and elements for a long time may damage the shell material. Store it
indoors when not in use.
As you start riding your Bo M, take time to learn the basics to avoid any mishaps when out on the
road. As with any vehicle, there are risks to riding your Bo M. Make sure that you become familiar
with the controls whilst riding in a quiet and safe area away from hazards, and before riding in an
environment where there are risks of collision.Your Bo M is intended for personal use on clean,
level and dry tarmac and paved surfaces. Take particular care when riding on a loose surface,
such as gravel.

•
Consider visibility, road surface conditions and other road users at all times. Take precautions
accordingly.
•
When riding in low light conditions, make sure your Light Halo and headlights are toggled on.
•
Do not stand on the mudguard while riding your Bo M; it is not a braking mechanism.
•
Do not stand on your Bo M while the kickstand is deployed.
•
Do not use your Bo M in temperatures below -5°C, as this will affect the performance of the
vehicle.
•
Avoid high traffic areas or overcrowded areas. Respect the code of the road, the sidewalk, and
the most vulnerable at all times.
•
City traffic has many obstacles such as curbs and steps. It is important to anticipate and adapt
your trajectory and speed to those of a pedestrian before crossing these obstacles. When
crossing a protected pedestrian passage, get off your Bo M and walk.
•
Take care of yourself and others and use your bell when approaching a pedestrian or cyclist if
you remain unseen.
•
Always keep both tyres in contact with the road surface to ensure adequate grip and riding
safety.
•
We encourage you to wear protective equipment (e.g. helmet, knee pads etc.) when riding
your Bo M.
•
Always wear shoes (flat soled and closed) when riding. Keeping both feet in contact with the
Airdeck at all times will ensure a safe and stable ride, as will keeping both hands in contact with
the handlebar.
•
Ask a local e-scooter store to refer you to appropriate training for the vehicle, should you
require it.
WARNING!
Caution, the brake drum may become hot during use. Do not
touch after use.
Do not change the use of your Bo M from its intended use.
Do not use the vehicle for acrobatic use.
Regularly check the tightening of various bolted elements,
in particular the wheel axles and the brake cable clamp, as
outlined on page 42.
Eliminate sharp edges caused by use.
Do not modify or interfere with your Bo M. Modifications may
interfere with safe operating and could lead to serious injury
and/or damage.
Do not use additional items or accessories that have not been
approved by Bo.

Troubleshooting
Experiencing an issue?
We have designed your Bo M to be resilient and reliable, but should anything be troubling you,
please contact our customer support team at hello@bo.world and they will help troubleshoot and
resolve the issue.
Keep your eyes and ears open for any strange noises, or any change in riding sensation, as this may
be an indication that there is an issue with your Bo M.
If there is an electrical fault, you can help our customer support team by providing them with the
error code visible on the battery level indicator LEDs. The various error codes are outlined below.

Common problems and how to solve them
Your Bo M won’t turn on.
Check that the vehicle has charge.
Check that you are pressing the power button
for 1 second.
Try giving it a ride.
The accelerator doesn’t work.
Check that you have given your Bo M a
kickstart to 3kph before using the accelerator.
Check that the vehicle is on.
The lights are not working.
Check the lights are toggled on in the app.
Check that the vehicle is on.
The rear brake is not working.
The rear brake has a reduced braking force at
walking speeds. If there is no regen braking at
speeds above 8kph, contact customer support.
The front brake is not working effectively.
Re-adjust the brake cable (page 42).
The kickstand is getting stuck.
Clear any debris out of the mechanism.
There is noise coming from the mudguards, or
theyare rubbing against the tyres.
Clear any debris from under the mudguard.
The app will not connect to your Bo M.
Check that the vehicle is on.
If the issue persists, screenshot the issue and
contact customer support.
Airdeck shows signs of wear.
Take a photograph and contact customer
support.
Your tyre is flat or running low on air.
Try to pump it up again to 40psi. Sometimes
you may need to massage the tyre rim slightly
to seal it well against the rim.
Contact customer support before replacing
the tyre (page 36).
There is a lackof power from the motor.
Check that your tyres are correctly pressurised.
Check the battery level.
Check your riding mode.

Living with Bo
Warranty
Your Bo includes a comprehensive 24-month warranty covering any defective components or
workmanship, from the date of purchase, to keep you riding. All labour and part costs are included.
This warranty does not include any consumable items (tyres, brake cables, brake pads, grips,
Airdeck, grommets). The warranty is not applicable in these circumstances:
•
Consumable items as listed above.
•
Cosmetic damage.
•
Evidence of more than one rider on the vehicle at any time in the past.
•
Evidence of damage caused by misuse of the vehicle, intentional damage, incorrect
maintenance or a crash.
•
The vehicle has been modified with non-Bo components or has been repaired by a non-Bo
qualified technician. This includes using third party tyres, including solid tyres.
Your Bo also has a Lifetime Chassis warranty. For further information and the terms and conditions,
