Package Contents
The NG8POE-1 is designed to pass both data and electrical power to
multiple PoE-compatible devices via standard Cat5e or Cat6 network cables.
Equipped with eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, this switch can power wireless
LAN access points and bridges, VoIP phones, IP video cameras and more
while delivering network speeds of up to 1000 Mbps.

Installation
Prior to use, place/position the switch:
• On a level surface that can support the weight of the switch (and any
other items that need to be considered)
• With a minimum of 25 mm (approx. 1 inch) of clearance on the top and
sides for adequate ventilation
• Away from electric-noise sources: radios, transmitters, broadband
amplifiers, etc.
• Where it cannot be affected by excessive moisture
Ports
All ports on the switch support Auto-MDI/MDI-X functionality. You can use
straight or crossover UTP/STP cables to connect the RJ45 ports to PCs,
routers, hubs and other switches.
Ports 1 – 8: 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, IEEE 802.3af/at compliant, providing
a maximum of 30 watts to connected PoE devices. The total PoE budget for
this switch is 60 watt. The per-port average power distribution is 7.5 watts.
• Port 1: The designated uplink port can be used the same way as any of
the other ports. However, this port remains accessible from all other
ports when port isolation (VLAN mode 1 or 2) is active.

Installation
LEDs
The LED indicators allow for easier monitoring and troubleshooting. If a
status LED does not indicate a link or activity, check the corresponding
device for proper setup and operation.

Use the included power adapter to connect the receptacle on the back of
the switch to a power outlet and confirm that the Power LED is on.

Installation
VLAN Mode
The NG8POE-1 features port isolation, also referred to as “Private VLAN”. It
isolates all ports from each other and only allows access to the uplink port.
This is useful in VLAN applications such as hotels where each room has
access to the internet, but rooms are prevented from accessing one
another.
Mode Operation
Normal The switch operates as a standard Ethernet switch. All ports
can communicate with one another.
VLAN1 Ports 2 – 8 are isolated from one another but have access
to port 1.
VLAN2 Ports 2 – 8 are isolated from one another but have access
to port 1. In addition, the connection speed of ports 2 – 8 is
limited to 10 Mbps.

Instalación
Antes de utilizarlo, coloque/posicione el switch:
• Sobre una superficie nivelada que pueda soportar el peso de switch (y
de cualquier otro artículo que deba tenerse en cuenta).
• Con un mínimo de 25 mm (aproximadamente 1 pulgada) de espacio

Puertos
Todos los puertos del switch admiten la función Auto-MDI/MDI-X. Puede

Modo VLAN
La NG8POE-1 ofrece aislamiento de puertos, también conocido como "VLAN
privada". Aísla todos los puertos entre sí y solo permite el acceso al puerto

Le NG8POE-1 est conçu pour transmettre des données et de l'énergie

Installation
Avant l'utilisation, placez/positionnez le commutateur:
• Sur une surface plane pouvant supporter le poids du commutateur (et
de tout autre élément à prendre en compte).
• Avec un minimum de 25mm (environ 1pouce) d'espace libre sur le

Ports
Tous les ports du commutateur prennent en charge la fonctionnalité Auto-
MDI/MDI-X. Vous pouvez utiliser des câbles UTP/STP droits ou croisés pour
connecter les ports RJ45 aux PC, routeurs, concentrateurs et autres
commutateurs.
Ports 1 – 8: ports 10/100/1000Mbit/s, conformes à la norme IEEE
802.3af/at, fournissant un maximum de 30watts aux appareils PoE
connectés. Le budget PoE total de ce commutateur est de 60watts. La

Mode VLAN

Der NG8POE-1 ist so konzipiert, dass er sowohl Daten als auch Strom an
Multiple PoE-kompatible Geräte über Standard Cat5e oder Cat6
Netzwerkkabel weiterleitet. Ausgestattet mit acht Gigabit Ethernet Ports,
kann dieser Switch Wireless LAN Access Points und Bridges, VoIP-Telefone,
IP-Videokameras und mehr mit Strom versorgen und dabei
Netzwerkgeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 1.000 Mbps liefern.

Installation
Platzieren Sie den Schalter vor der Verwendung:
• Auf einer ebenen Fläche, die das Gewicht des Schalters (und aller
anderen zu berücksichtigenden Elemente) tragen kann.
• Mit einem Mindestabstand von 25 mm (ca. 1 inch) an der Oberseite und
den Seiten für eine ausreichende Belüftung.
• Außerhalb von elektrischen Geräuschquellen aufstellen: Radios,
Sendern, Breitbandverstärkern usw.
• Wo er nicht durch übermäßige Feuchtigkeit beeinträchtigt werden kann.
Anschlüsse
Alle Ports des Schalters unterstützen die Auto-MDI/MDI-X-Funktionalität. Sie
können gerade oder gekreuzte UTP/STP-Kabel verwenden, um die RJ45-
Ports mit PCs, Routern, Hubs und anderen Schalter zu verbinden.
Ports 1 – 8: 10/100/1000 Mbps Ports, IEEE 802.3af/at konform, liefern
maximal 30 Watt an angeschlossenen PoE-Geräten. Das gesamte PoE-
Budget für diesen Schalter beträgt 60 Watt. Die durchschnittliche
Leistungsverteilung pro Anschluss beträgt 7,5 Watt.
• Port 1: Der vorgesehene Uplink-Port kann genauso wie alle anderen
Ports verwendet werden. Dieser Port bleibt jedoch von allen anderen
Ports aus erreichbar, wenn die Portisolierung (VLAN-Modus 1 oder 2)
aktiv ist.

Installation
VLAN-Modus
Die NG8POE-1 verfügt über eine Portisolierung, auch als „Private VLAN“
bezeichnet. Sie isoliert alle Ports voneinander und erlaubt nur den Zugriff
auf den Uplink-Port. Dies ist nützlich bei VLAN-Anwendungen wie z.B. in
Hotels, in denen jedes Zimmer Zugang zum Internet hat, aber die Zimmer
untereinander nicht erreichbar sind.

Normal Der Schalter funktioniert wie ein Standard-Ethernet-Switch.
Alle Ports können miteinander kommunizieren.

NG8POE-1 è progettato per trasmettere sia dati che energia elettrica a più
dispositivi compatibili con PoE tramite cavi di rete standard Cat5e o Cat6.
Dotato di otto porte Gigabit Ethernet, questo switch può alimentare punti di
accesso e bridge LAN wireless, telefoni VoIP, videocamere IP e altro ancora,
offrendo velocità di rete fino a 1000 Mbps.

Installazione
Prima dell'uso, posizionare lo switch:
• Su una superficie piana che possa sostenere il peso dello switch (e
qualsiasi altro elemento da considerare)
• Con almeno 25 mm (circa 1 pollice) di spazio libero sulla parte superiore
e sui lati per una ventilazione adeguata
• Lontano da fonti di rumore elettrico: radio, trasmettitori, amplificatori a
banda larga, ecc.
• Dove non può essere soggetto a umidità eccessiva
Porte
Tutte le porte dello switch supportano la funzionalità Auto-MDI/ MDI-X. È
possibile utilizzare cavi UTP/STP diritti o incrociati per collegare le porte RJ45
a PC, router, hub e altri switch.
Porte 1 - 8: porte 10/100/1000 Mbps, conformi a IEEE 802.3af/at, che
forniscono un massimo di 30 Watt ai dispositivi PoE collegati. Il budget PoE
totale per questo switch è di 60 Watt. La distribuzione della potenza media
per porta è di 7,5 Watt.
• Porta 1: la porta uplink designata può essere utilizzata come qualsiasi

Modalità VLAN
Il NG8POE-1 è dotato di isolamento delle porte, definito anche "VLAN
privata". Isola tutte le porte tra loro e consente l'accesso solo alla porta
uplink. Questa configurazione è utile nelle applicazioni VLAN, come gli hotel,
dove ogni camera ha accesso a Internet, ma le camere non possono
accedere l'una all'altra.
