PRODUCT SAFETY
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following:
1. WARNING: Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure
to follow the warnings and instructions may result in fire and/or
serious injury.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put the Motor
Body, USB Adapter, USB Cable, or Battery in water, or other
liquid.
3. This appliance is not intended for use by children or by persons
with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge. Close supervision is necessary
when any appliance is used near children. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
4. Turn the appliance off (O), remove the Battery when not in use,
before assembling or disassembling parts and before cleaning.
5. Avoid contact with moving parts. Do not attempt to defeat any
safety interlock mechanisms. Do not override any safety
controls.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged Battery, adapter
or plug, after the appliance malfunctions, is dropped or
damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest
Authorized Service Facility for examination, repair, or electrical
or mechanical adjustment.
7. The use of attachments/accessories not recommended or sold
by KitchenAid may cause fire, electric shock or injury to
persons.
8. Keep hands and utensils away from the cutting blade while
chopping food to reduce the risk of severe injury to person, or
damage to the appliance. A scraper may be used, but only
when the appliance is not running.
9. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.
10. To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting blade on the
Motor Body without first putting Bowl properly in place.

EN
3
13. Do not use an extension cord. Plug adapter directly into power
source.
14. Use only with the adapter provided with the appliance. Do not
attempt to use this adapter with any other product. Likewise, do
not attempt to charge this appliance with any other adapter.
15. Do not incinerate this appliance even if it is severely damaged.
The Battery can explode in a fire.
16. Allow the appliance to cool completely before putting on or
taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
17. Refer to the “Care and Cleaning” section for instructions on
cleaning the surfaces in contact with food.
18. Disconnect the Battery from the appliance before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the
appliance accidentally.
19. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off
position before connecting to Battery, picking up or carrying the
appliance. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the
switch or energizing an appliance with the switch on invites
accidents.
20. Recharge only with the adapter specified by KitchenAid. A
adapter that is suitable for one type of battery may create a risk
of fire when used with another battery.
21. Use appliances only with KitchenAid 12 V Battery. Use of any
other batteries may create a risk of injury and fire.
22. When Battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal
objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other
small metal objects, which can make a connection from one
terminal to another. Shorting the Battery terminals together
may cause burns or a fire.
23. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the
Battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with
water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
Liquid ejected from the Battery may cause irritation or burns.
24. Do not use a Battery or appliance that is damaged or modified.
Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable
behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
25. Do not expose a Battery or appliance to fire or excessive
temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 265°F may
cause explosion.

4
26. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the Battery
or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the
instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of
the specified range may damage the Battery and increase the
risk of fire.
27. Use only UL listed ITE/Class 2 USB source to charge this
device. Use of any non-UL listed USB sources may create a
risk of fire.
28. Never service damaged Battery. Service of Battery should only
be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service
providers.
29. Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric
burner or in a heated oven.
30. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
31. Do not expose the appliance to rain. Store indoors.
32. Do not use the appliance in rain or wet conditions.
33. Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the Battery
