EXHAUST REQUIREMENTS FOR CANADA
The appliance shall not be exhausted into a chimney, wall, ceiling, space, or concealed space of a building.
Only rigid or flexible metal duct shall be used for exhausting.
In Canada, only those foil-type ducts, if any, specifically identified for use with the appliance by the
manufacturer shall be used.
In the United States, only those foil-type flexible ducts, if any, specifically identified for use with the
appliance by the manufacturer and that comply with the UL2158A, shall be used.
In Canada, the exhaust duct shall be 102 mm in diameter.
In the United States, the required exhaust duct diameter shall be 100 mm.
The maximum duct length shall be 1.8 m (6 ft), and 1 bend.
The total length of flexible metal duct shall not exceed 2.4 m.
The duct shall not be assembled with screws or other fastening means that extend into the duct and
catch lint.
Exhausting refers to removal of moist air from the drying compartment to the environment through an
