1. SAFETY
WARNING! To prevent the risk of sparking, short circuit and possible explosion, DO NOT drop metal tools in the battery area, or allow
them to touch the battery terminals.
8 DO NOT cross-connect unit to battery. Ensure positive (RED) clamp is to positive terminal and negative (BLACK) clamp is to negative
terminal.

9 Use in conjunction with manufacturer’s workshop manual and or information.
9 Maintain this product in good working order and condition. Take immediate action to repair or replace damaged parts.
9 Use approved parts only. Unapproved parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
8 DO NOT use to perform a task for which it is not designed.
8 DO NOT allow untrained persons to use the unit.
8 DO NOT use when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or intoxicating medication.
8 AVOID direct inhalation of smoke.
9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.
9 Keep work area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials.
9 Ensure the work area has adequate lighting.
9 Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. DO NOT wear jewellery, and tie back long hair. A full range of personal safety equipment is

WARNING! Unit may get HOT!
8 DO NOT remove ller cap when unit is ON.
9 Keep unit upright at all times, to avoid oil leaking out.
9 When not in use, clean unit and store in a safe, dry, childproof location.
9 Ensure that mineral oil (baby oil) safety data sheet has been read, and that user understands the health risks involved and uses
appropriate personal protective equipment.
2. INTRODUCTION
Allows the technician to pinpoint all manner of system leaks, including the air intake, cooling, evaporation, fuel, exhaust and vacuum systems.

4. FEATURES
5. PREPARATION
5.1. OIL RESERVOIR
5.1.1. Total amount of oil must NOT exceed 30ml. Overlling will result in insucient internal heating and therefore poor smoke output.
5.1.2. Ensure sealing O ring remains in place.
5.1.3. Before lling with fresh oil, pour out the remaining oil in the reservoir.
5.1.4. Fill oil reservoir with 30ml, not over this amount.
5.1.5. Replace oil regularly.
Only use Sealey LDO50 Leak Detector Oil.
5.2. SMOKE OUTLET PORT
5.2.1. Connect smoke outlet pipe.
5.2.2. Remove threaded collar and place over end of pipe.
5.2.3. Push pipe over the smoke outlet and screw on threaded collar.
5.3. HOOK
5.3.1. Unit can be hung from the vehicle with the hook provided. Ensure lock nut is wound down enough to prevent the unit falling if it rotates.
6. OPERATION
6.1. POWER CONNECTION
6.1.1. Connect 12V power to car’s battery, (red clip positive, black clip negative).
6.1.2. When 12V power is connected, press the On/O switch, and the power indicator light illuminates.
6.1.3. The smoke pump will operate once the unit is turned on. Expected time for smoke to accumulate would be approximately 1 minute.
6.2. CUT OUT INDICATOR LIGHT
8 DO NOT run the unit for more than 8 minutes. If the unit exceeds this time limit, it will power o automatically and the cut out indicator
will turn on.
6.2.1. The cut out indicator light will turn o when the unit has cooled down enough and the unit will start working again.
6.3. ATTACH SMOKE DETECTOR ACCESSORY
6.3.1. Attach accessory to desired part of the vehicle’s engine etc. Block the ‘end’ of the pipe, and run the unit for up to 8 minutes.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.

Warranty: Guarantee is 12 months from purchase date, proof of which is required for any claim.
WEEE REGULATIONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way.
Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
6.4. AFTER USE
6.4.1.1. Remove from power.
6.4.1.2. Clean rubber accessories with mild water-based detergents. DO NOT use petroleum based cleaning agents..
6.4.1.3. Drain oil: after each use, to prevent deposition of particles in the reservoir. Invert the unit to drain the remaining oil.
6.5. NOTES:
Only smoke test components that are not smoke sensitive.
7. MAINTENANCE.
7.1. With use the oil will oxidise and deteriorate. Change oil regularly.
7.2. Empty old oil from reservoir before relling.
7.3. Keep unit clean with a soft dry cloth.
7.4. Store in a dry, child free place.
