TURNING THE KETTLE ON/OFF
Plug Power Base into the power outlet and turn power ON. The LED Indicator (above the
Power Button) will glow red and the LED Display will display "Open".
Place Kettle (filled with contents) on Power Base. The LED Display will show the current
ambient temperature inside the Kettle.
Press the Power Button. The LED Indicator will turn green, and the Kettle will beep. The
Kettle is now Switched ON. If you do not set any temperature, the Kettle will boil the
liquid contents up to 100°C at sea level and maintain temperature for 60 minutes.
To switch OFF the Kettle, press the Power Button. The LED Indicator will turn red and the
LED Display will show the present temperature of the liquid contents.
SETTING TARGET TEMPERATURE
1. Switch Kettle ON. By default, the temperature is set at 100°C (the maximum). Turn
Temperature Control Knob to set your target temperature (anticlockwise lowers temperature,
clockwise raises temperature). Once set, the LED Display will blink, the Kettle will beep
once and show the set temperature for a moment, and then start heating to reach the set
temperature. For example, you want water to be heated to 70°C, turn Knob anticlockwise
till the display shows "S 70". After a second the display will blink twice, indicating that the
target temperature is set at 70°C. Once the Kettle reaches the target temperature, it will
beep thrice and shift to 'Keep Warm' mode.
2. In Keep Warm mode, the Kettle will maintain the target temperature for 60 minutes,
and will beep periodically after every 5 minutes as a reminder.
3. To change the Keep Warm time, press knob once – the LED Display will show
"A 60". Turn the knob clockwise or anticlockwise to set the desired time (maximum
16 hours 30 minutes). The LED Display will blink twice (within 2 seconds if the said time is
changed, or 5 seconds if it is not). After the set Keep Warm time, the unit will beep thrice
and the Kettle will Switch OFF automatically. The LED Indicator will turn red.
4. Turn knob at any time during operation to change the target temperature – the Kettle
8
background
will beep once and display the new temperature (80°C, for example, will be displayed as
"S 80").
STEAM MODE
Turning the knob clockwise beyond 100°C will shift Kettle into Steam mode (the LED
Display will show "S St") in which the Kettle will keep boiling the water for up to 10 minutes,
after which it will beep thrice and switch OFF automatically. The LED Indicator will turn red
and the LED Display will show the current temperature of the Kettle contents.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
To reach a target temperature lower than the current temperature, consider adding some
cold water to speed up the process.
The LED Display will show the temperature progression till the target temperature is
reached.
Be watchful for steam that is likely to emerge from the spout. Keep spout pointed away
from your person.
The Water Temperature Sensor (a small sensor sitting atop the inside base, towards handle)
constantly monitors the temperature of the contents inside the Kettle. The Sensor will
not work properly if there is insufficient water in the Kettle (less than 1 cup/240 ml). As
a thumb rule, ensure that it remains covered by liquid throughout operation.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
"Boil-Dry" occurs when the liquid contents fall to an unacceptably low level, which can
cause the heating element to burn out if not handled promptly and properly.
A boil-dry event will switch the Kettle OFF automatically. The LED Display will show "dry"
and the LED indicator will turn red.
Immediately remove Kettle from the Power Base to reset the device.
Set the Kettle down on a suitable surface and wait 5 minutes. Add minimum 1 cup/
240 ml water at room (or cooler) temperature before restarting.

High Altitude Use
Water boils at a lower temperature at high altitude owing to lower atmospheric pressure.
At sea level, water boils at 100°C/212°F. It is estimated that, for every 500 feet/152 metres
of altitude gain, the boiling point reduces by approximately 0.5°C/0.9°F. When using this
Kettle at a high altitude, we recommend that you follow the guidelines given in the table
below, making adjustments to suit the ambient conditions as desired by you.
Altitude

How to Clean
Unplug the Kettle and allow to cool naturally before cleaning.
Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the Kettle body and its Power Base. Do not allow the
electric socket on the exterior base of the Kettle – to get wet, sit on a wet
counter, or be wiped with a wet cloth.
Never immerse Kettle or its Power Base in water.
Dry all parts after each use.
Do not wash Kettle or any of its parts in a dishwasher. Hand wash only.
If food is stuck in the Kettle, fill to maximum level with water. Bring to boil. Allow to
cool naturally. Empty out water. Clean with a non-abrasive kitchen cleanser and a plastic
scrubber. Wash and wipe dry.
Be very gentle when cleaning the temperature sensor inside to avoid damage.
Descaling
Scaling is a naturally occurring build up generally caused by mineral deposits present in
hard water. Descaling the Kettle regularly can increase the useful life of the Kettle, allowing it
to boil water faster with less energy. The ideal descaling cycle depends on the water hardness.
The guarantee is void if descaling is not carried out in accordance with these instructions. If
scale deposits build up inside the Kettle, please follow these steps to descale it:
1. Squeeze half a lemon or add
1
/2 cup/120 ml of distilled vinegar into the Kettle.
2. Add 2 cups/480 ml of fresh water. Bring the mixture to a boil.
3. Let mixture cool about 15 minutes to loosen the deposits, then pour out contents.
4. Use a soft damp cloth, sponge or brush to clean off any remaining deposits.
5. Rinse inside surface thoroughly with fresh water.

Troubleshooting
The Power Base won’t turn on.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the power outlet.
Check that the outlet is in working condition – test in another outlet as a cross check.
Check and reset the MCB if it has tripped.
If using an extension board with multiple connections, detach other connections prior
to retrying.
The Kettle does not heat up.
If the LED Display shows "Open", ensure the Kettle is properly seated on the Power Base.
If the LED Display shows "dry", overheat control may have tripped. Follow the instructions
in "BOIL DRY PROTECTION" on page 9 to re-use.
The Kettle is not reaching the target temperature.
If the Kettle doesn’t reach the target temperature, but operates for an unusually long
time at a temperature lower than the target temperature without reaching the target
or shutting off, it may be due to scaling or hard water. Read and follow "Descaling"
instructions.
