User’s Manual for Fireproof Safe
WARNING
Read all instructions before using this safe.

- For security purposes, change the factory default
code as soon as possible. Factory default code
is 159#.
-Test registered pin code a few times before closing
the safe door.
- Avoid leaving door open and unattended; it will allow
unauthorized individuals to reprogram the safe,
gaining full access to the safe and its contents.
- Do NOT storage combustible materials in this unit.
- The interior will reach up to 350°F. Avoid storing items
such as pearls, digital media, back up tapes, data
cartridge, CD’s etc. These items sustain heat damage
at temperatures much lower than 350°F.
- The safe has a proprietary insulation that has a high
moisture content. To avoid humidity damage to
contents we recommend placing a desiccant or
dehumidifier inside the safe to protect the contents
from rust or mildew.
- If you are storing delicate items such as jewelry,
photos, etc. we recommend putting them in an
air-tight container, prior to placing them in the safe
for storage.
- In the event of a fire, we recommend caution when
opening the safe. If you feel unsure about opening the
safe because of the contents stored, contact your
local fire department for assistance.
- Store emergency keys in a secure place; NOT inside
of the safe.
- Keep children away from safe; they should not play
with or around the safe at anytime. Children at play
could accidentally get locked inside the safe or
accidentally pull on the safe door causing safe to tip
over if not properly mounted.
- Failure to follow these warnings could result in serious
injury or death.
NOTE: BARSKA is not responsible for any damage or
lost contents in the safe due to moisture.

or contents in the safe.

BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Remove Batter Compartment (F) cover
2. Insert 4AA batteries and restore batter cover
FACTORY DEFAULT MODE \ CREATING A
PERSONAL PIN CODE
Safe retains one 3-8 digit pin code.
1. On the Keypad (E) enter in factory default code “159#”.
2. Turn the Handle (C) clockwise to unlock and open the safe
door. You have 5 seconds before the locking mechanism
is reactivated.
3. Locate the Initialization Button (A) on the inside of the
safe door.
4. Press and release the Initialization Button (A), you will hear
one beep. The yellow Indicator Light (D) on the Keypad (E)
will be on, you can only enter your code while the yellow
Indicator Light (D) is on.
5. Enter your 38 digit personal pin code and press “*” to
confirm the new code.
TESTING PERSONAL PIN CODE
1. With the safe door open and the Bolts (B) extended in the
locked position, enter in your personal pin code on the
Keypad (E) and press the “#” symbol.
2. Turn the Handle (C).
If pin code was registered correctly the Bolts (B) will retract.
If pin code was NOT registered correctly the Bolts (B) will stay
in the locked position.
If pin code was NOT registered correctly repeat steps in
“FACTORY DEFAULT MODE \ CREATING A PERSONAL PIN
CODE”.
3. Test a pin code that is not registered to ensure the Bolts (B)
will stay in the locked position.
OPENING & CLOSING SAFE WITH PERSONAL PIN
CODE
OPEN:
1. Enter in your personal pin code on the Keypad (E) and press
the “#” symbol.
2. Turn the Handle (C) clockwise to the unlock and pull the
safe door open.
CLOSE:
To close safe, close door and turn Handle (C) counter
clockwise to the lock position.
LOCK OUT MODE
If incorrect pin codes are entered consecutively, the keypad
will stop accepting any codes and emit a continuous beep
sound.
- After 3 consecutive incorrect attempts, the lockout mode will
last for 20 seconds.
- After 6 consecutive incorrect attempts, the lockout mode will
last for 5 minutes.
The lockout mode can be terminated by removing all batteries.
CHANGING PERSONAL PIN CODE
Follow steps 3, 4 and 5 in “ FACTORY DEFAULT MODE \
CREATING A PERSONAL PIN CODE”

BARSKA warrants this new safe/lock box to be free of defects
in material and/ or workmanship under normal use for a period
of twelve (12) months from the date product is purchased. This
limited warranty is delimited to repair or replacement only. This
warranty does not cover damage caused by improper
installation or maintenance. BARSKA disclaims all liability for
incidental or consequential damages resulting from misuse,
abuse, accident (such as dropping), fire, flood, service or
repairs other than those performed by BARSKA, acts of nature,
or arising out of any breach of this warranty. Altering the
product under any circumstances will automatically void the
warranty.
For service under this limited warranty, please have available
the proof of purchase and the purchase date and location as
well as a detailed description of the problem. This warranty is
not transferable and only applies to the original purchaser with
a proof of purchase from BARSKA or from an authorized dealer.
This warranty applies only to products purchased within the
United States, excluding Alaska, the Hawaiian Islands and all
U.S. territories in the Caribbean and the Pacific.
BARSKA will examine and go through troubleshooting
procedures, product repair or replacement of defective part(s)
or units with new part(s) or provide a new unit, if necessary,
during the warranty period. Reasonable shipping/handling
charges may apply and are based on Barska sole discretion.
Purchaser shall be required to prepay Shipping/handling
charges with a check or money order to BARSKA at time
product is returned. The Return Merchandise Authorization
Number (RMA#) and shipping/handling charge MUST be
obtained from BARSKA in advance of return. BARSKA shall not
be liable for damages or loss occurring during shipping. Please

RMA#, Shipping/handling amount, and for more information.
BARSKA reserves the right to modify or discontinue, without
prior notice to the purchaser, any model or style of the product.
BARSKA will determine, at its sole discretion, whether a
product will be repaired or replaced. BARSKA reserves the right
to discontinue or change any feature of its products at any time.
If an exact replacement or product is not available, BARSKA
reserves the right to provide a part or product that matches as
closely as possible.
LIMITATION OF REMEDIES
BARSKA disclaims any warranties, express or implied, whether
of merchantability or fitness for a particular use, except as
expressly set forth herein. The sole obligation of BARSKA
under this limited warranty shall be to repair or replace the
covered product, in accordance with the terms set forth herein.
BARSKA expressly disclaims any lost profits, general, special,
indirect or consequential damages which may result from
breach of any warranty, or arising out of the use or inability to
use any BARSKA product. Any warranties which are implied
and which cannot be disclaimed shall be limited in duration to a
term of one year from the date of original retail purchase.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages or limitation on how long an implied
warranty lasts, so the above limitations and exclusions may not
apply to you.

BEEP SOUND OPTIONS

OPENING THE SAFE WITH THE EMERGENCY ACCESS
KEY
1. Turn Keypad Cover (E) counter clockwise to reveal the
Emergency Key Access (G). Hold the Keypad Cover (E) with
one hand.
2. Insert access key into Emergency Key Access (G) and turn
clockwise to open.
NOTE: Store keys in a secure place. NOT inside of the safe.
SAFE ALARM
Press "*00" to activate the Alarm-U System. If anyone tries to
temper with safe, the safe alarm will sound for 20 seconds. To turn
off the alarm from sounding, please enter the correct pin cod or
use the emergency key to open the safe and remove the batteries.
LOW BATTERY WARNING
When a button is pressed on the Keypad (E), a red Indicator Light
(D) will come on momentarily warning that the battery is low. To
replace the battery, see steps in “BATTERY INSTALLATION”.
NOTE
After replacing the batteries safe retains the last pin code saved.
FLOOR MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
The safe may be mounted to the floor. Be aware of the load
bearing. Failure to do so can result in personal injury and/or
damage to property. Use appropriate tools when performing work
and always use eye protection.
- Barska recommends that this safe be anchored to the floor.
- Your safe must be shimmed level to assure proper lock functions
and to keep the door from swinging open too quickly or closing
by itself.
- To avoid rust on the safe, never set the safe directly on a cement
floor. We recommend a spacer be placed between the safe and
the cement.
- Exposure to chemicals or other adverse environments may cause
the warranty to become invalid.
- The safe is designed to support itself when the doors is opened.
However caution should be used to avoid pulling it over. To
maximize security and stability, bolting the safe to the floor is
recommended.
- This safe come with a pre-drilled electrical hole, measuring
3/8" diameter, located on the bottom right-hand side of the
safe (if you are facing the safe, it is on your right-hand side).
- Use proper drill tools depending on the type of floor you are
mounting the safe (wood, tile, or concrete).
- Measure the location of the pre-set drill holes; mark their
exact position onto the floor.
- Drill the appropriate size holes for the anchors you are using.
- Carefully press the anchor into the holes at this time.
- Mount the safe by running screws from inside of the safe and
securing to anchors; ensure the safe is mounted securely.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Your safe is built to last a lifetime. However, please
understand that the locking mechanism has some precisions
parts. If you experience ANY difficult opening or closing your
safe, DO NOT FORCE THE HANDLE, call 888.666.6769 for
technical support. If the handle is forced or ABUSED, it may
jam the components in the lock, which will require a safe
technician to unlock your safe. This causes an inconvenience
for both the owner and Barska and may lead to a
claim denials.
- Keep liquids away from the keypad. Spills on the keypad will
cause damage and possibly electric shock.
- If necessary use a damp cloth to clean the safe. DO NOT use
chemicals or cleaning agents.
- Keep liquids away from the control panel. Spills on the control
panel will cause damage and possibly electric shock.
- Secure safe in a proper area to prevent it from falling and
causing damage or injury.
- The mechanism inside the door and the hinges are
permanently lubricated, this needing no maintenance.
Occasionally it may be necessary to lubricate the door bolts.
To do so, extend the door bolts completely with the door
open. Wipe a small amount of oil around each bolt.
- DO NOT over stuff the contents of the safe, it can damage
the motor mechanism or the contents.
- DO NOT disassemble the product. For all repairs and
maintenance, contact BARSKA Customer Service.
