IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be
taken, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Always unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before cleaning or handling.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or lever.
4. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or place any
part of the toaster in water or other liquids. See instructions for cleaning.
5. This appliance should not be used by or near children, or individuals with
certain disabilities. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is

appliance has malfunctioned or has been dropped or damaged in any way,

12. Oversize foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the
toaster, as they may involve a risk of re or electric shock.
13. A re may occur if the toaster is covered or touching ammable materials,
such as curtains, draperies or walls, when in operation. Do not operate under
wall cabinets.
14. Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged into
electrical outlet.
15. To avoid possibility of re, do not leave toaster unattended during use.
16. To disconnect, push the Cancel button, then remove plug from wall.
17. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts.
18. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage or under a wall cabinet.
When storing in an appliance garage, always unplug the unit from the
electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of re, especially if the
appliance touches the walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as it
closes.

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer
cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
NOTICE: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug
does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

INTRODUCTION
Your new Custom Select™ Toaster is designed to ensure that everything
toasts to the precise shade you like best. With preset settings for Wafes,
Bagels, Pastries, Bread, & English Mufns, this toaster knows just how long to
toast for your selection. Depending on sugar content, density, and thickness,
breads may toast a little faster or slower, so you might want to experiment with
a lighter or darker shade settings. And if you want to toast something that’s
frozen, the Defrost button thaws it before the toaster starts toasting. For those
making just one slice, the Single Function gives you the perfect shade, side to
side. Everybody loves toast just their way, and this is a toaster everybody will
love!

USE AND CARE
Unwind the power cord. Check that the crumb tray is in place and that there is nothing
in the toaster slots. Plug power cord into the wall outlet.
1. Insert slice(s) of bread.
Be sure that the carriage is in the up position.
2. Select bread type.
3. Set the browning control.
Slide lever to desired shade:
Setting Color
1–2 light
3–5 medium
6–7 dark
4. To begin toasting
Press the carriage lever until it locks into the down position.
To stop cycle
When the toasting cycle is nished, the toast will be raised. If you wish to stop
the cycle before it is nished, simply touch the Cancel button.
After use, unplug
the toaster from the electrical outlet.
Some notes on browning:
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread. Therefore,
differences in moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying
toasting times.
• For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
• For very fresh bread or whole wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal.
• Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English mufns) will require a higher
toast setting.
• Thickly cut pieces of bread will take longer to toast, sometimes signicantly
longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting
can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
• When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins, etc., from
the surface of the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent
fruit pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking on the guide wires in the slots.
• Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves.
Bagel
This toaster reduces heat on one side of the toasting slot for bagels. This toasts the cut
side of the bagel slightly more than the other side.
An embossed icon (
) located on the top of the toaster shows you
the right way to insert your bagel. (The cut side should always face
away from the center of the pair of toasting slots.)
Frozen waffles, pancakes, French toast and bagels
These items should be warmed before toasting, using the Defrost function.
Select bread type and then your preferred browning shade. Press carriage lever
and then press Defrost. For example, when toasting a frozen bagel, select Bagel,
and then select the browning level, press carriage lever and Defrost.
Toaster pastries
Exercise caution with toaster pastries; the lling can become quite hot, long before the
surface of the pastry becomes browned. Never leave toaster pastries unattended while
toasting or warming.
Tips
• Never force foods into the toasting slots. Foods should t freely between the
guide wires.
• Do not place buttered breads in the toaster, as this could create a re hazard.
• Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices of uneven thickness.
• After use, unplug your toaster from the electrical outlet.

Single Slice Button
The Single Slice function generates balanced heat for even toasting on just one
slice of bread. While both slots heat up, the heaters automatically adjust time and
intensity to ensure great results with even side-to-side browning.
1. Insert slices of bread.
Be sure that the carriage is in the up position.
2. Select bread type.
3. Set browning control.
4. Press the carriage control level until it locks into position.
5. Press the Single Slice button. Blue LED indicates feature is active.
To Stop Cycle
When the Single Slice cycle is complete, the toaster will raise the bread. If you
wish to stop the cycle before it is nished, simply touch the Cancel button to
interrupt. After use, unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet.
Defrost Button
The Defrost button is designed to rst defrost and then toast the bread to your desired
browning shade.
1. Insert slice(s) of bread.
Be sure that the carriage is in the up position.
2. Select bread type.
3. Set the browning control.
4. Press the carriage control lever until it locks into position.
5. Push the Defrost button. Blue LED indicates feature is activated.
To stop cycle
When the Defrost cycle is complete, the toaster will raise the bread. If you wish
to stop the cycle before it is nished, simply touch the Cancel button to interrupt.
After use, unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning.
1. Always unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth
and dry thoroughly.
3. To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe clean and
replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
4. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside
down and gently shake. Never insert any hard or sharp instruments into the slots,
as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
5. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster.
Use the cord storage cleats on the underside of the toaster

6. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

™
ha sido diseñada para tostar cualquier
artículo de manera precisa, hasta el grado de tostado que usted prefiere. Con
ajustes preprogramados para tostar pan, panecillos, hojaldres, gofres/wafles y
"muffins" ingleses, esta tostadora sabe exactamente cuánto tiempo tostar cada
artículo para su selección. El tostado puede resultar un poco más largo o rápido
dependiendo del contenido en azúcar, de la densidad y del grosor del pan. Por lo
tanto, no dude experimentar con varios grados de tostado hasta encontrar el que
mejor le conviene para cada artículo. Su tostadora también cuenta con una
función DEFROST que descongela los artículos congelados antes de tostarlos, y
con una función SINGLE para tostar a la perfección solamente una rebana.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
Desenrolle y enderece el cable. Asegúrese de que la bandeja recogemigas esté en
su puesto y cerciórese que no hay nada en la ranura. Conecte el cable a una toma
de corriente.
1. Introduzca la(s) rebanada(s) en la(s) ranura(s).

Importante:
Las tostadoras secan y asan el pan simultáneamente. Por lo tanto, el contenido
de humedad del pan (el cual varía de un pan a otro) afectará la duración del
ciclo de tostado.
• Si el pan está ligeramente seco, utilice un ajuste más bajo de lo normal.
• Si el pan está fresco o si tuesta pan de trigo integral, utilice un ajuste más alto
de lo normal.
• Utilice un ajuste más alto de lo normal para tostar pan con superficie irregular
como los "muffins" ingleses.
• Las rebanas gruesas necesitan más tiempo – a veces mucho más tiempo
– para tostarse, debido a su alto contenido de humedad. Las rebanadas muy
gruesas pueden requerir hasta dos ciclos de tostado.
• Antes de tostar pan con pasas u otras frutas secas, quite las frutas sueltas
antes de introducir el pan en la tostadora; esto evitará que los pedazos de
fruta caigan en la tostadora o peguen a la rejilla.
• Corte los panecillos ("bagels") longitudinalmente a la mitad antes de
tostarlos.
PARA TOSTAR PANECILLOS
La función BAGEL reduce el calor emitido por las resistencias exteriores de la
ranura, tostando el lado cortado de los panecillos ligeramente más.
Un diagrama estampado ( ) en la parte superior de la tostadora
indica cómo posicionar los panecillos en las ranuras (el lado
cortado siempre debe apuntar hacia el exterior).
Gofres/Wafles congelados, panqueques, tostadas ("French toasts") y
panecillos ("bagels") congelados
Estos artículos deben ser recalentados antes de tostar, usando la función
DEFROST.
Seleccione el tipo de pan y el grado de tostado. Baje la palanca, y luego presione el
botón DEFROST. Por ejemplo, para tostar un panecillo congelado, seleccione
"bagel", elija el grado de tostado, y luego presione el botón DEFROST.
Tartas tipo "Pop-Tarts":
Tenga cuidado al tostar tartas tipo "Pop-Tarts". El relleno se volverá muy caliente,
mucho antes de que el hojaldre parezca tostado. Siempre vigile estos artículos
durante el recalentamiento o el tostado.
Consejos
• Nunca introduzca los artículos a la fuerza en las ranuras; deben caber libremente
entre las rejillas.
• No tueste pan untado con mantequilla; esto puede crear un riesgo incendio.
• Si el espesor de la rebanada no es uniforme, el pan no se tostará uniformemente.
• Desconecte el aparato después de cada uso.

PARA TOSTAR SOLAMENTE UNA REBANADA
La función “SINGLE” (una rebanada) ajusta la temperatura para tostar a la
perfección una sola rebanada de pan. Mientras ambas ranuras se calientan, las
resistencias ajustan automáticamente el tiempo y la intensidad del calor para
garantizar excelentes resultados con un dorado uniforme en cada lado del pan.
1. Introduzca la rebanada en la ranura.
Asegúrese de que la palanca elevadora esté en la posición más alta.
2. Seleccione el tipo de pan.
3. Elija el grado de tostado.
4. Baje la palanca elevadora hasta que se bloquee.
5. Oprima el botón SINGLE.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
Permita que el aparato se enfríe completamente antes de limpiarlo.
1. Siempre desconecte el aparato antes de limpiarlo.
2. No utilice limpiadores abrasivos. Simplemente limpie el cuerpo del aparato con
un paño ligeramente humedecido y séquelo bien.
3. Para eliminar las migajas, deslice la bandeja recogemigas hacia fuera. Limpie la
bandeja y regrésela en su puesto. Nunca utilice el aparato sin la bandeja
recogemigas.
4. Para desalojar pedazos de pan atascados en las ranuras, desconecte el
aparato, voltéelo y sacúdalo suavemente. Nunca introduzca ningún utensilio
duro o afilado en las ranuras; esto puede dañar el aparato u ocasionar riesgos
para el usuario.
5. Nunca enrolle el cable alrededor del cuerpo del aparato.

uso personal, familiar o casero. A menos que la ley aplicable exija lo
contrario, esta garantía no es para los minoristas u otros consumidores/
compradores comerciales, ni propietarios/consumidores que compren a
revendedores no autorizados por Cuisinart

Cuisinart garantiza este producto contra todo defecto de materiales
o fabricación durante 3 años después de la fecha de compra original,
siempre que el aparato haya sido usado para uso doméstico y según las
instrucciones.
Se recomienda llenar el formulario de registro disponible en https://
cuisinart.registria.com a fin de facilitar la verificación de la fecha de
compra original de este producto. Sin embargo, no es necesario registrar
el producto para recibir servicio bajo esta garantía. En ausencia de prueba
de la fecha de compra, el período de garantía será calculado a partir de la
fecha de fabricación del producto.
RESIDENTES DE CALIFORNIA
La ley del estado de California ofrece dos opciones bajo el período de
garantía. Los residentes del estado de California pueden regresar el
producto defectuoso (A) a la tienda donde lo compraron o (B) a otra
tienda que venda productos Cuisinart
®
de este tipo. La tienda podrá, a su
elección, reparar el producto, referir el consumidor a un centro de servicio
independiente, sustituir el producto, o reembolsar al consumidor el precio
de compra menos la cantidad directamente atribuible al uso anterior
del producto por el consumidor. Si estas dos opciones no satisfacen al
consumidor, podrá llevar el aparato a un centro de servicio independiente,
siempre que se pueda arreglar o reparar el aparato de manera económica.
Cuisinart (no el consumidor) será responsable por los gastos de servicio,
reparación, sustitución o reembolso de los productos defectuosos bajo
garantía. Los residentes de California también pueden, si así lo desean,
mandar el aparato defectuoso directamente a Cuisinart para que sea
reparado o sustituido. Para esto, deben llamar a nuestro servicio de
atención al cliente al 1-800-726-0190. Cuisinart será responsable por
los gastos de reparación, reemplazo, manejo y envío de los productos
defectuosos durante el período de garantía.

Este producto satisface las más altas exigencias de fabricación y ha
sido diseñado para funcionar con 120 V, usando accesorios y repuestos
autorizados solamente. Esta garantía excluye expresamente los defectos
o daños causados por accesorios, piezas o reparaciones no autorizados
por Cuisinart, así como los defectos o daños causados por el uso de
un convertidor de voltaje. Esta garantía no cubre el uso comercial o
industrial del producto, y no es válida en caso de daños causados por
mal uso, negligencia o accidente. Esta garantía excluye todos los daños
incidentales o consecuentes. Algunos Estados no permiten la exclusión
o limitación de daños incidentales o consecuentes, de modo que las
limitaciones mencionadas pueden no regir para usted. Usted puede tener
otros derechos que varían de un Estado a otro.
Importante: Si debe llevar el producto defectuoso a un centro de servicio
no autorizado, por favor informe al personal del centro de servicio que
deben llamar al Centro de Servicio al Cliente de Cuisinart, al 1-800-726-
0190, a fin de diagnosticar el problema correctamente, usar las piezas
correctas para repararlo y comprobar que el producto aún está bajo
garantía.
