Allow to cool before cleaning or handling.

10. Do not place toaster on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a

12. Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted
in the toaster, as they may involve a risk of re or electric shock.
13. A re may occur if the toaster is covered or touching ammable
materials, such as curtains, draperies, or walls, when in operation.
Do not operate under wall cabinets.
14. Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged into an
electrical outlet.
15. To avoid possibility of re, do not leave toaster unattended during use.
16. To disconnect, push the Cancel button, then remove plug from wall
outlet. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
17. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage or under a wall
cabinet. When storing in an appliance garage, always unplug the unit
from the electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of re,
especially if the appliance touches the walls of the garage or the door
touches the unit as it closes.
18.
When heating toaster pastries, always use the lightest toast color setting.
19. Toaster is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
20. The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below
combustible material, such as curtains.
21. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
22. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords
are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop
or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
NOTICE: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Unwind the power cord. Check that the crumb tray is in place and that
there is nothing in the toaster slots. Plug power cord into the wall outlet.
GENERAL OPERATION
1. Insert slice(s) of bread
Be sure that the lever is in the up position.
2. Select bread option if desired
BAGEL or DEFROST or REHEAT.
3. Set the browning level
Turn dial to desired shade setting number 1–7 or Reheat. Shade range
is as follows:
SETTING COLOR
1–2 light
3–5 medium
6–7 dark
4. To begin toasting
Press the carriage lever until it locks in the down position and toasting
will begin.
5. To stop cycle
When the toasting cycle is nished, the toast will be raised. If you wish
to stop the cycle before it is nished, simply press the Cancel button.
6. After use, unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet.
NOTE: After 5 minutes of no operation, toaster will go into idle mode, and
all LEDs will turn off. To wake toaster, press any button or push down the
start lever, and the LEDs will turn on.
FUNCTION

QuickView™
The QuickView™
feature allows you to check on
the toasting progress without interrupting the cycle.
Simply lift the high-lift lever to temporarily raise
and view your bread, and then release lever to
automatically lower and continue toasting.
Bagel
The Bagel function is designed to toast bagels to perfection by reducing
heat on one side of the toasting slot. This toasts the cut side of the bagel
slightly more than the other side.
A directional icon located on the top of the toaster shows you
the correct way to insert your bagel. (The cut side should always
face away from the center of the pair of toasting slots.)
Defrost
The Defrost function is a longer cycle designed to rst defrost and then
toast the bread to the desired browning shade.
Reheat
The reheat function reheats bread without browning or toasting. Note,
when the dial is in the REHEAT position, the DEFROST and BAGEL
functions cannot be selected.
Front Crumb Tray
The removable crumb tray is conveniently located at the front of the unit
to make cleanup a breeze. Simply pull the crumb tray out from the toaster,
empty the crumbs into the trash, and push back into place.
Rear Cord Stuff Box
Excess cord can be stored in the rear stuff box to keep countertops look-
ing neat. Push any excess cord into the hole on the back of the toaster.
To keep the cord in place, slide the cord into the upper hole position to
prevent it from moving.
Cancel
The Cancel function will stop the toasting process and automatically lift the
bread. The indicator light around the button will be illuminated whenever
the toaster is running.

TIPS AND HINTS
Notes on Browning
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread. Therefore,
differences in moisture level from one item to another can result in varying
toasting times.
• For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
• For very fresh bread or whole-wheat bread, use a higher setting
than normal.
• Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English mufns) will
require a higher toast setting.
• Thickly cut pieces of bread will take longer to toast, sometimes
signicantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the
bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
• When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose fruit,
from the surface of the bread before placing into the toaster.
This will help prevent fruit pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking
on the guide wires in the slots.
• Before toasting bagels, slice into two equal halves.
Frozen Bread, Waffles, Pancakes, French Toast, and Bagels
Use the Defrost function to defrost and then toast these items.
Simply insert the frozen item, select desired function, select Defrost, select
desired browning setting (1–7), and then press down the lever to start.
Toaster Pastries
Exercise caution with toaster pastries; the lling can become quite hot
long before the surface of the pastry becomes browned. Start by using the
lightest setting. Never leave toaster pastries unattended while toasting or
warming.
For Best Results
• Never force foods into the toasting slots. Foods should t freely
between the guide wires.
• Do not place buttered breads in the toaster, as this could create
a re hazard.
• Uneven toasting is usually due to inserting slices of uneven thickness.
Single-Slice Toasting
If you are toasting a single slice of bread, set the heat selector to a lighter
setting than you normally would. The toaster is designed to heat the whole
toasting chamber for two slices. By lowering the heat for a single slice, you
won’t overtoast.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning.
1. Always unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean,
damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
3. To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs.
Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb
tray in place.
4. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the
toaster upside down and gently shake. Never insert any hard or sharp
instruments into the slots, as this could damage the toaster and cause
a safety hazard.
5. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster. Use the rear
cord stuff box to store any excess cord length.
6. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized
service representative.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO GENERALES
1. Introduzca rebanada(s) de pan en la(s) ranura(s)
Compruebe que la palanca de elevación esté en la posición alta.
2. Elija la función deseada (opcional)
Presione el botón deseado: BAGEL (tostar bagels), DEFROST
(descongelar) o REHAT (recalentar).
3. Elija el grado de tostado
Gire la perilla para elegir el grado de tostado deseado, de 1 a 7.
Grados de tostado:

1-2 claro/ligeramente tostado
3-5 medio
5-6 muy tostado
4. Para iniciar el ciclo de tostado
Baje la palanca de elevación hasta que se bloquee; el ciclo de tostado
se iniciará.
5. Para interrumpir el ciclo de tostado
El pan tostado subirá automáticamente al final
del ciclo de tostado. Para interrumpir el ciclo
antes del final, presione el botón CANCEL.
6. Desenchufe el aparato después del uso.
NOTA: Después de 5 minutos sin uso, la tostadora
ingresará al modo de espera y todos los indicadores

FUNCIONES
Función QuickView
™
(vista rápida)
La función QuickView™ permite comprobar el grado de tostado sin
interrumpir el ciclo de tostado. Simplemente levante la palanca de
elevación para ver el pan. Luego, suéltela para reanudar el ciclo
de tostado.
Función “BAGEL” (tostar bagels)
La función “BAGEL” está diseñada para tostar las mitades de bagel a la
perfección, reduciendo el calor emitido por la resistencia exterior de cada
ranura y tostando el lado cortado del bagel ligeramente más que el otro
lado. Nota: Las funciones “DEFROST” (descongelar) y “BAGEL” (tostar
bagels) no pueden seleccionarse cuando el control de tostado está
en “REHEAT”.
Un diagrama estampado en la parte superior de la tostadora
indica cómo posicionar las mitades de bagel en las ranuras (el

Bandeja recogemigas frontal
La bandeja recogemigas removible está situada en la parte delantera
del aparato para una fácil limpieza. Simplemente saque la bandeja
recogemigas de la tostadora, tire las migas y vuelva a colocarla en su sitio.
Espacio de almacenamiento del cable
Permite guardar el exceso de cable para mantener la encimera ordenada.
Simplemente introduzca el cable en el orificio en la parte posterior de
la tostadora. Para mantener el cable en su sitio, deslícelo en la posición
superior del orificio para evitar que se mueva.
Función “CANCEL” (cancelar)
La función “CANCEL” interrumpe el ciclo de tostado y levanta
automáticamente el pan. Nota: El aro luminoso alrededor del botón se
enciende durante el ciclo de tostado.
CONSEJOS Y SUGERENCIAS
Consejos generales
Las tostadoras secan y asan el pan simultáneamente. Por lo tanto, el
contenido de humedad del producto (que varía de un producto a otro)
afecta el tiempo necesario para tostarlo.
• Si el pan está ligeramente seco, use un ajuste más bajo de lo normal.
• Si el pan está fresco o si tuesta pan de trigo integral, use un ajuste
más alto de lo normal.
• Use un ajuste más alto de lo normal para tostar artículos con
superficie irregular, tales como los muffins ingleses.
• Las rebanadas gruesas necesitan más tiempo (a veces
significativamente más tiempo) para tostarse, debido a su alto
contenido de humedad. Las rebanadas muy gruesas pueden requerir
hasta dos ciclos de tostado.
• Antes de tostar pan con pasas u otras frutas secas, quite las frutas
sueltas antes de colocar el pan en la tostadora;
esto evitará que los pedazos de fruta se caigan en la tostadora o se
peguen a la rejilla.
• Corte los bagels por la mitad.
LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
Deje que el aparato se enfríe completamente antes de limpiarlo.
1. Siempre desenchufe el aparato antes de limpiarlo.
2. No use limpiadores abrasivos. Simplemente limpie la carcasa del aparato
con un paño húmedo, y séquela bien.
3. Para eliminar las migas, deslice la bandeja recogemigas hacia fuera.
Limpie la bandeja con un paño y vuelva a colocarla en su sitio. Nunca
haga funcionar el aparato sin la bandeja recogemigas.
4. Para desalojar pedazos de pan atascados en las ranuras, desenchufe el
aparato, voltéelo y sacúdalo suavemente. Nunca introduzca ningún
utensilio duro o afilado en las ranuras; esto puede dañar la tostadora u

5. Nunca enrolle el cable alrededor del aparato; use el espacio de
almacenamiento del cable en la parte posterior del aparato para guardar
el exceso de cable.

de materiales o fabricación durante 3 años después de la fecha de compra original,

Esta garantía excluye expresamente los defectos o daños causados por
accesorios, piezas o reparaciones no autorizados por Cuisinart, así como los
defectos o daños causados por el uso de un convertidor de voltaje. Esta garantía
no cubre el uso comercial o industrial del producto, y no es válida en caso de
daños causados por mal uso, negligencia o accidente. Esta garantía excluye todos
los daños incidentales o consecuentes. Algunos Estados no permiten la exclusión o
limitación de daños incidentales o consecuentes, de modo que las limitaciones
