to play with the product. Cleaning and
user maintenance must not be performed
by children without supervision. The use
of this product by young people under the
age of 16 is not recommended.
Intended use:
The GARDENA Holiday Watering Set / Holiday Water-
ing Set with Container is intended for fully automatic
watering of indoor plants, independent of the water supply.
The pump is completely submersible (watertight encap-
sulation) and is submerged in the water (to a max. depth
of see 8. TECHNICAL DATA).
The product is not intended for continuous operation.
DANGER! The pump should not be used for the
delivery of salt water, muddy water, corrosive,
easily inflammable or explosive liquids (e. g. petrol,
paraffin, thinners), oil, heating oil or foodstuffs.

The product must be supplied through a residual
current device (RCD) having a rated residual
operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
Safe operating practices
The water temperature should not exceed 35 °C.
The pump must not be used when people are in the
water.
Leaking lubricants can contaminate the pumped liquid.
Circuit breakers
Dry-running protection: If no water is pumped (under-
current) the pump switches off automatically.
v Refill the container with water.
Anti-lock protection: If the motor blocks (overcurrent),
the pump switches off automatically.
v Contact the GARDENA Service.

DANGER! Cardiac arrest!
This product makes an electromagnetic field while
it operates. This field may under some conditions
interfere with active or passive medical implants.
To decrease the risk of conditions that can possibly
injure or kill, we recommend persons with medical
implants to speak with their physician and the medi-
cal implant manufacturer before you operate the
product.
DANGER! Electric shock!
Risk of injury due to electric shock if the pump is
connected directly to the mains.
v Connect the pump only via the supplied plug-in
power supply with timer.
Check the plug-in power supply housing for damages
before usage. Don't use a damaged plug-in power
supply.
Please regularly check the connecting line.

Before using, always subject the pump to a visual inspec-
tion.
A pump which is damaged should not be used. In the
event of damage, have the pump checked by GARDENA
Service.
Damaged connecting cables to the pump can only be
replaced by GARDENA Service.
Disconnect the plug-in power supply from the outlet
socket for all work on the holiday watering.
The pump may only be operated with 14-V protected
low-voltage in combination with the GARDENA plug-in
power supply for pump.
Protect from rain. Use the plug-in power supply only in
a rain-protected area.
Personal safety
DANGER! Risk of suffocation!
Small parts can be easily swallowed. There is also
a risk that the polybag can suffocate toddlers. Keep
toddlers away when you assemble the product.
Only use Original GARDENA parts, as the function of the
system cannot otherwise be guaranteed.
Do not let the pump run dry.
Observe the minimum water level in accordance with the
technical Data given for the pump.
Do not use the product while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment
of inattention while you operate the product may result in
serious personal injury.
Do not open the pump further than delivery status
(only exception: the foot).
3. INSTALLATION

v Disconnect the product from the mains before
you install the product.
To calculate the water quantity:
The Holiday Watering system allows up to 36 plants to be
watered (by using one drip pipe per plant). Here, all 3 drip
distributors must be used.
Drip distributor:
There are 3 drip distributors with different daily application
rates. Each drip distributor has 12 connections for drip
pipes.
– Light grey: For plants with low water requirements
(application rate 15 ml per day = slightly less than
a shot glass).
– Medium grey: For plants with average water
requirements (application rate 30 ml per day
= 1.5 shot glasses).
– Dark grey: For plants with high water requirements
(application rate 60 ml per day = 3 shot glasses).
If a plant has a water requirement of over 60 ml per day,
you will need to use more than one drip pipe for the plant.
Calculation example:
– You have:
8 plants with low water requirements (15 ml/day)
6 plants with average water requirements (30 ml/day) and
3 plants with high water requirements (60 ml/day)
– One drip pipe should be used to water each plant.
– The water quantity should be sufficient for 14 days.
Daily requirement
= 8 x 15 ml + 6 x 30 ml + 3 x 60 ml
= 120 ml + 180 ml + 180 ml
= 480 ml ∼ 0,5 litres
Water quantity for 14 days
= daily requirement x days
= 0.5 litres x 14 days
= 7 litres
v You will need a container which can hold more than
7 litres (as a certain amount of water will also evaporate
from the container in 14 days).
For Art. 1266 Holiday Watering Set with container,
the 9-litre-capacity reservoir is included in the contents.

v Disconnect the product from the mains before
you fill the container.
To start the watering [ Fig. O1 ]:

v Make sure that the container is always
sufficiently filled with water.
1. Fill the container with the previously calculated
amount of water (make sure that the container
stands in a secure position).
2. Place the pump in the container filled with water
(make sure that the pump is level with the bottom of
the container).

solvents. Some can destroy critical plastic parts.

6. STORAGE
To put into storage:
The product must be stored away from children.
1. Unplug the Holiday Watering system.
2. Clean the pump and the Holiday Watering system
(see 5. MAINTENANCE).
3. Store the pump and the Holiday Watering system in
a dry, enclosed space which is free of frost.
Disposal:
(in accordance with RL2012/19/EC)
The product must not be disposed of to normal
household waste. It must be disposed of in line with local
environmental regulations.
IMPORTANT!
Dispose of the product through or via your municipal
recycling collection centre.

In the event of a warranty claim, no charge is levied to you
for the services provided.
GARDENA Manufacturing GmbH grants a warranty for all
original GARDENA new products for two years from the
date of original purchase from the retailer, provided that
the devices have been for private use only. This manufac-
turer’s warranty does not apply to products acquired sec-
ond hand. This warranty includes all significant defects of
the product that can be proved to be material or manufac-
turing faults. This war ranty is fulfilled by supplying afully
functional replacement product or by repairing the faulty
product sent to us free of charge; we reserve the right to
choose between these options. This service is subject
to the following provisions:
• The product has been used for its intended purpose as
per the recommendations in the operating instructions.
• Neither the purchaser nor a third party has attempted to
open or repair the product.
• Only Original GARDENA replacement parts and wear
parts have been used for operation.
• Presentation of the receipt.
Normal wear and tear of parts and components (such as
blades, blade fixing parts, turbines, light bulbs, V-belts /
toothed belts, impellers, air filters, spark plugs), visual
changes, wear parts and consumables are excluded from
the warranty.
This manufacturer’s warranty is limited to replacement
and repair of products in accordance with the abovemen-
tioned conditions. The manufacturer’s warranty does not
constitute an entitlement to lodge other claims against us
as a manufacturer, such as for damages. This manufac-
turer’s warranty does not, of course, affect statutory and
contractual warranty claims against the dealer / retailer.
The manufacturer’s warranty is governed by the law of
the Federal Republic of Germany.
In case of a warranty claim, please return the faulty prod-
uct, together with a copy of the receipt and a description
of the fault, with postage paid to the service address.
Consumables:
The impeller and filter are consumables and are not
included in the warranty.
