Introduction
Welcome, and congratulations on your purchase of the Triplett TMP40. The TMP40 Digital Food Thermometer is a
reliable and high-precision tool designed for fast, accurate temperature readings in cooking and food safety
applications. Featuring a wide temperature range, ±0.5°F (±0.3°C) accuracy, auto-rotating backlit display, and
water-resistant construction, it is perfect for professional chefs, home cooks, and food service personnel. With a
foldable stainless-steel probe, magnetic back, and auto shut off, the TMP40 combines convenience and
performance for everyday kitchen and grill use.

Safety and Cleaning Instructions
1. Use Caution with Heat: Always wear heat-resistant gloves when handling the stainless-steel probe during or after
cooking. Never touch the hot probe with bare hands.
2. Keep Out of Reach of Children: The probe tip and wire can become extremely hot and should be always kept away
from children.
3. Cleaning After Use:
a. Wash the stainless-steel probe with hot soapy water.
b. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth.
c. Do not immerse the unit or the probe in water.
4. Weather and Water Exposure:
Do not use the device in rain or immerse it in water during use or cleaning.
Although water-resistant (IP67), the unit is not waterproof.
5. Avoid Heat Damage:
Do not expose the thermometer to direct flame or hot surfaces.
Do not use stainless steel probe in microwave ovens.
6. Maximum Temperature Limit: Do not use the probe sensor above 300°C (572°F), as it may cause permanent
damage.
7. Handle With Care: Avoid dropping the thermometer or subjecting it to impact. Do not attempt to disassemble the
unit.

Operation
Getting Started
1. Remove Protective Film: Before using the thermometer, peel off the protective film from the front panel.
2. Access Battery Compartment: Use the included screwdriver to remove the battery cover.
NOTE:
Once the screw is loosened, gently pull the battery cover to open. Install the two AAA batteries
included into the slot with the minus sign going in first. Push the battery cover back on and tighten the
screw.
3. Switch Temperature Units: The thermometer defaults to Fahrenheit. To change to Celsius, press and hold
the main button for 3 seconds.
4. Data Hold Function: To freeze the temperature reading, press the main button once before removing the
probe from the food. Press again to release.
5. Replacing the Battery:
Use the included screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
Replace with two AAA (1.5V) batteries. Insert with the negative (-) end first.
Close the battery cover and tighten the screw.

Power ON/OFF:
Power On: Unfold the probe to activate the display.
Power Off: Fold the probe back into its stored position.
