Passworddialog,whichopenswhentheproductisaccessedforthersttime.
Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS
certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The
HTTPScerticateensuresencryptedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPSonpage51.
Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe

TosetthepasswordviaastandardHTTPconnection,enteritdirectlyinthedialog.
TosetthepasswordviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,followthesesteps:

Atemporarycerticate(validforoneyear)iscreated,enablingencryptionofalltrafctoandfromtheproduct,andthe
passwordcannowbesetsecurely.
2.Enterapasswordandthenre-enterittoconrmthespelling.
3.ClickOK.Thepasswordhasnowbeencongured.
PTZMode
PTZmodeissetthersttimetheAxisproductisaccessedandcanonlybechangedbyresettingtheproducttofactorydefault
settings.TheproductcanuseeitherOpticalzoomforinstallationorOpticalZoomformonitoring.ThedefaultmodeisOptical
zoomforinstallation.Inthismodeopticalzoomisdisabledformonitoring,butitispossibletoenableviewareasanddigital
PTZ.TheGatekeeperfunctionisnotavailableinthismode.
SelectOpticalzoomformonitoringtouseopticalzoomonlyformonitoring(suchasforGatekeeper).InthismodedigitalPTZ
andviewareasaredisabled.
CameraOrientation
Thissettingisdenedthersttimetheproductisaccessed.DependingonhowtheAxisproductisinstalled,selectceilingorwall.
Tochangethesesettings,theproductmustberestoredtotheoriginalfactorydefaultsettings.Toresetorrestoretheproduct,goto

Selectthepowerlinefrequency(50Hzor60Hz)usedatthelocationoftheAxisproduct.Selectingthewrongfrequencymaycause
imageickeriftheproductisusedinuorescentlightenvironments.

Powerlinefrequencyvariesdependingongeographicregion.TheAmericasusuallyuse60Hz,whereasmostotherpartsof
theworlduse50Hz.Localvariationscouldapply.Alwayscheckwiththelocalauthorities.
AboutPTRZ
ThePTRZfeatureisonlyintendedforinstallationpurposes.ThePTRZpageappearsinthesetupsequencewhenstartingthecamera
forthersttime,orafteraresettofactorydefault.TochangethePTRZsettings,seeSetPTRZandfocusonpage27.
