Other Important Notes
MIN indicates the warmest setting.
MAX indicates the coldest setting.
Setting the thermostat dial in the middle of the MIN-MAX range should be sufficient for
regular home use.
Setting the thermostat to MAX in the “FREEZING range will cause the compressor to run
continuously and will make the interior very cold. It is not recommended to run the appliance
at this setting for long periods of time.
The temperature inside the appliance can vary based on ambient room temperature, the
frequency that the lid is opened and the amount of fresh food that has recently been added.
Do not overload the appliance as this can affect performance. Do not freeze large quantities
of fresh food at the same time.
The lid may be difficult to open immediately after closing it. This is normal and is due to the
pressure difference between the cold interior of the appliance and the warm air that has just
entered the appliance when the lid was opened. The pressure will equalize within a few
minutes.
If the lid is especially difficult to open, wait 5 minutes to allow the pressure to equalize and
then try again.
Defrosting Your Freezer
When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the freezer
when the frost on the freezer walls is excessive or ¼ to ½ inch thick.
Choose a time when the stock of frozen food is low.
CAUTION
Do not use boiling water because it may damage the plastic parts. In addition, never use a
sharp or metallic instrument to remove frost as it may damage the cooling coils and will void
the warranty. We recommend using the plastic scraper provided with your unit.
Remove the frozen food from the freezer and place it in a cooler to protect the food.
Turn the thermostat knob to 0”.
During defrosting, the ice melts into the cabinet.
Remove the drain plug on the inside floor of the freezer by pulling straight out.
Place a shallow pan outside drain outlet. Rotate the drain dial 180 degrees and pull outward.
This will allow the water to flow freely to the pan.
Check the pan occasionally so the water does not overflow.
Clean the interior of the freezer.
Replace the plug on the inside floor.
Replace the outside drain dial.
Reset the thermostat to desired setting.
Allow the cabinet to cool for one hour.
Return food to the freezer.
