1. SAFETY

9 Components to be measured and the dial bore gauge to be stored at room temperature (21°C).
2. INTRODUCTION
Precision mechanism with Ø55mm dial and locking rotating bezel, offering an accurate method of measuring a bore or detecting a taper or
ovality. Will indicate the deviation from set size by up to 3mm with an accuracy of 0.01mm. Probe body, dial indicator, anvils and spacer rings
are also included. Supplied in wooden storage case.

5. OPERATION
Note: The dial bore gauge is a comparator not a measuring device.
5.1. ASSEMBLY
5.1.1. Loosen the clamp screw at the top of the shaft. Insert the dial indicator into the probe
bodyuntilthepointermovesaminimumof10graduationmarks(g.1)onthedial.
5.1.2. Use a ruler and measure the diameter of the bore. Match the diameter by selecting
a combination of anvils, spacer rings and if necessary use the distance piece
(seeg2foroneexample).Testitinthebore,youmayhavetochangethespacer
rings, make a note of the length of the pieces used.
Note: Make sure everything is secure before using.
5.2. ZERO POINT ADJUSTMENT
5.2.1. Use a ring gauge or micrometer as a reference for setting your zero point.
5.2.2. Using the ring gauge/micrometer, insert the measuring head into the ring gauge.
Pivot the gauge, and watch the dial. The largest reading on the dial is the zero point.
Turn the bezel until the pointer points at the zero.
5.3. MEASUREMENT
5.3.1. Insert the measuring head into the bore.
5.3.2. Pivot the gauge while checking the dial. The movement of the pointer will indicate if
the diameter you are measuring is oversized or undersized and by how much.
6. MAINTENANCE
8 DO NOT drop the gauge or assembled parts.
9 Wipe clean with a dry cloth.
9 If the gauge ceases to operate properly contact your Sealey stockist.
