WARNING
TO AVOID INJURY. NEVER TOUCH MOVING PARTS.
NEVER PUSH FOOD DOWN BY HAND OR WITH UTENSILS INTO THE FEED CHUTE OR WORK BOWL DURING PROCESSING.
ALWAYS USE THE FOOD PUSHERS PROVIDED WITH THE FOOD PROCESSOR TO PUSH INGREDIENTS INTO THE WORK BOWL.
NEVER remove ingredients from the appliance during operation. Ensure the motor is o, the blades have completely stopped,
and the appliance is unplugged before removing the snap-on lid.
If the machine shuts o prematurely or the work bowl wobbles or rocks during processing, turn the appliance o and wait until
the motor comes to a complete stop and the blades have completely stopped before attempting to remove the food processor
from the motor base. Adjust the ingredients and/or reduce the load in the appliance.
NEVER process frozen meat, meat with bones, or fruit/vegetables that are frozen, hard, or larger than the size of the palm of a
human hand with the chopping blade.
If using the appliance to blend hot food, extreme caution must be used to avoid burns from escaping steam or splashes.
NEVER use ingredients above 2120F (1000C).
NEVER touch the drive socket in the motor base or the drive spline on the work bowl. Parts will become hot with extended use.
NEVER place the appliance or its accessories on or near a hot gas or electric burner, in or on a heated oven, or in a microwave
oven.
DO NOT continuously use the appliance for more than 3 minutes.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
The Vitamix 12-Cup Food Processor was designed to be used with our SELF-DETECT line of blenders. The food processor will not work on a blender base without
the SELF-DETECT feature.
The Vitamix 12-Cup Food Processor pairs well with Vitamix blending containers, cups, and bowls and allows the blender to be used as a complete kitchen system.
NEVER fill the work bowl higher than the marked maximum capacity line (12 cups for dry ingredients and 8 cups for wet ingredients).
When processing dry and liquid ingredients, put liquid ingredients into the bowl before dry ingredients to ensure consistent processing.
Before slicing and shredding ingredients, trim the food to fit the food chute opening.
Partially chill soft ingredients to just firm prior to slicing or shredding.
Use the small food chute to add liquid to mixtures.
Stir nut butters if the oil has separated.
Use care when processing hard cheeses as they may damage the multi-use blade or discs.
