1. SAFETY

9 Wear approved eye protection. A full range of personal safety equipment is available from your Sealey stockist.
9 Wear suitable clothing to avoid snagging. Do not wear jewellery and tie back long hair.
9 Renew the dipstick if bent or damaged in any way.
8 DO NOT touch hot parts of the vehicles engine or transmission when accessing the dipstick.
8 DO NOT touch live parts within the engine bay when accessing the dipstick.
9 Vehicle should be in a well ventilated area.

2. i INTRODuCTION
Transmission dipsticks for checking the fluid level on mercedes 722.6, 722.7, 722.8 and 716.5 automatic transmissions, fitted to most mercedes
vehicles from 1996 to 2006. The dipstick is a service tool, therefore must be removed after the fluid has been checked. made from spring steel with
plastic measuring tip for accurately checking the fluid level.
3. i OPERATIONo

Whenllingforthersttimeorafteroilchangeadd5litres.Start
engine and idle in P, shift through the gears with brakes applied
several times then back to P, waiting 2 minutes before checking
the level. Reading when cold - between max and min
(25ºC range). Precise checking is done at 80ºC. Once to
temperature the oil level must be between the max and min
(80ºC range). Perform cold and hot checks with engine running.
