VIDEO BORESCOPE - ARTICULATED

1. SAfETy
1.1. GENERAL SAfETy
9 Always perform automotive testing in a safe environment.
9 Keep your work area clean and well lit.
9 Keep clothing, hair, hands, tools, test equipment, etc. away from all moving or hot engine parts.
9 Operate the tool in a well-ventilated work area.
8 DO NOT operate the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ammable liquids, gases, or heavy dust.
8 DO NOT use the tool around corrosive chemicals which can damage the tool.
8 DO NOT abuse the exible cable. Never use the exible cable to carry the tool.
8 DO NOT drop the borescope, it is not shock proof.
9 Keep the tool dry, clean, free from oil, water and grease.
WARNING: The handheld display unit is NOT waterproof.
9 Handle the borescope with care. If it is dropped, check for breakage and any other conditions which may affect its operation.
8 DO NOT immerse the imager head and cable into corrosive substances, petroleum or oil.
8 DO NOT use near moving machinery.
8 DO NOT use excessive force to insert or withdraw the imager head or cable.
8 DO NOT use the tool while tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol, or intoxicating medication.
8 DO NOT over-reach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times.
8 DO NOT use the tool for personal or medical use in any way.

2. INTRODUCTION
High performance palm sized borescope is equipped with an LED light, 70mm colour TFT screen, high resolution camera and recorder
with playback mode. Its biggest feature is the clever 2-way articulated probe tip giving you up to 350° of viewing which gives greater
control to the user. Videos and images are stored on its 8GB Micro SD card (supplied) and can be transferred to a PC via the USB
data cable (supplied). Waterproof probe pod with IP67 rating and supplied in storage case. Powered by 4 x AA (not supplied).

4. PREPARATION
4.1. BATTERIES(g.3)
4.1.1. To t 4 AA batteries (not supplied), depress end cap and slide off the end cap covering the battery compartment. Make sure battery
terminals are aligned correctly to power up unit.
4.2. PROBECABLE(g.2)
4.2.1. The cable assembly can only be arranged in one position due to the use of an alignment keyway. Once the connector is inserted use
the knurled collar to screw both parts together.
5. OPERATION
5.1. Assemble the unit as described in section 4.1 and 4.2 as shown in g.2 and g.3.
5.1.1. Insert SD card into SD slot (g.2).
5.2. UNIT CONTROLS
5.2.1. To turn unit on press the button for 2 - 3 seconds. The screen brightness can be adjusted using quick presses of this
key.
5.2.2. To begin recording or photographing use the button. Press and hold the button to swap between recording and
photographing modes.
5.2.3. To rotate the screen view use the button. This button is also used in viewing mode to cycle through photographs or videos.
5.2.4. To turn camera LED on or off use the button. This button is also used in viewing mode to cycle through photographs or
videos.
5.2.5. To browse through pictures and videos use the button and cycle through them using the buttons 5.2.3 and 5.2.4.
5.2.6. To set date and time on the unit use the button. Use the buttons 5.2.3 and 5.2.4 to cycle through and select date. Press
button 5.2.5 to conrm.
5.2.7. If the unit stops working, press the reset button on rear face via the reset aperture (g.3) using a blunt wire. This will reset the unit and
it will go into standby mode.
5.3. RECORDING
5.3.1. Use the control panel as required and described in section 5.2.
5.3.2. To control the movement of the articulated probe use the thumb wheel (g.4). NOTE: When the arrow on the thumb wheel lines up
with the marking on the body, the camera lense is centrally positioned.
5.3.3. To swap between photography and recording see 5.2.2.
5.3.4. To illuminate camera LED see 5.2.4.
5.4. VIEWING
5.4.1. Connect USB cable from borescope body (see g.2) to the computer being used to view contents.
5.4.2. Follow computer instructions to either view and/or download the contents of the SD card.

6. MAINTENANCE
6.1. BATTERy REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT - Refer to 4.1
6.2. CLEANING
8 DO NOT use abrasive or solvent cleaners. Use a mild detergent on a soft cloth, DO NOT to put excessive pressure on the
display screen.

Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid
waste authority for recycling information.
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to
a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely
unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids
according to local regulations.
