Usin the self-cleanin oven.
Wipe up heavy soil on the oven
bottom.
Before aSelf-Clean Cgcle

FIREHAZARD:Wipegreaseand heavysoil from the
ovenbottom beforeself-cleaning.Failureto doso
may resultin an oven fire.
Werecommendventingyourkitchenwith anopen
windowor usinga ventilationfan or hoodduringthe
firstself-cleancycle.
Removeany broilerpan,broilergrid,probe,all
cookwareand any aluminumfoil from the oven.
NOTE:
tfyour ovenisequippedwithshiny,silver-colored
ovenracks,we recommendyou removethem
beforeyou beginthe self-cleancycle.Theymay
remainin the ovenduringthe self-cleancycle,but
they will darken,losetheir lusterandbecomehard
to slide.
tfyour ovenisequippedwithgray porcelain-
coatedovenracks,they may be left in the oven
duringthe self-cleancycle.
Soilonthe front frameof the rangeand outside
the gasketon the door willneedto be cleanedby
hand.Cleantheseareaswith hotwater,soap-filled
steel-woolpadsorcleanserssuchasSoftScrub_.
Rinsewellwith cleanwater and dry.
Donot cleanthegasket.Thefiberglassmaterialof
the ovendoorgasketcannot withstandabrasion,it is
essentialfor the gasketto remainintact,if you notice
it becomingworn or frayed,replaceit.
Makesurethe ovenlightbulb coveris in placeand
the ovenlightisoff.
IMPORTANT:Thehealthof somebirdsisextremely
sensitiveto the fumesgivenoff duringthe self-
cleaningcycleof any range.Hovebirdsto another
well-ventilatedroom.
DoubleOvenand CanadianModelsOnly:
Thesurfaceunitsare automaticallydisabledduring
the self-cleancycle.Makesurethat all surface
unit controlsareturnedoff at alltimesduringthe
self-cleancycle.Any surfaceunitthat issetto an
"on"positionwhilethe self-cleancycleis operating
willautomaticallycome on after the self-cleancycle
isfinished,andcouldresultin an "on"unattended
surfaceunit.Wait untilthe self-cleancycleisfinished
to setandusethe surfaceunits.

How to Set the Oven for Self-Cleaning
Theovendoors mustbe closedand all controlsset
correctlyfor the cycleto work properly.
[] Touchthe SELFCLEANpad.
[] If a time other than the default time is
needed,usethe number pads and enter the
desiredcleantime.
Youcan change the clean time to any time
between3 hoursand Shours,dependingon how
dirty your ovenis.
r_ Touchthe STARTpad.
Theoven door locksautomatically,Thedisplay
will show the clean time remaining.Itwill not
be possibleto open the oven door until the
temperature drops below the locktemperature
and LOCKED/DOOR_ goesoff inthe control
display.
Theword LOCKED/DOOR_ will flashand
the word DOORwill display if you set the clean
cycle and forget to closethe oven door.
Tostop a clean cycle,touch the CLEAR/
OFFpad.When LOCKED/DOOR_ goesoff,
indicatingthe oven has cooledbelow the
lockingtemperature,you will beable to open
the door.
Double Ovens:
Youcan seta cleancycle in both ovensat the
sametime; however,they will not self-clean
at the same time.The lastoven setwill
automatically delay its start untilthe end of the
first oven's cleancycle.
When an oven is setto self-clean,both oven
doors will lockand the cooktop controlswill lock
out.The ovensand cooktop cannot be used
whenan ovenissetto self-clean.
