TROUBLE-SHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
Most problems can be solvedby following the simple stepsbelow. If Furtherassistanceis needed, ploar_ call our

1. SYMPTOM' THEPOWER DOES NOT TURN ON
a. Make surethat the power cord isplugged in properly. (SeeOPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT.) Ifan extension
cord isneeded, useonly a 14-gauge general-purpose cord of five feetor lessin length.
b. Make surethat the safetykey is insertedfullyinto the console. Turn the speed control knob to the "reset" posi-
tion. (See OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT.)

c. Check the circuit breaker locatedon the frontof the frame. The
circuitbreaker isdesigned to protectthe electrical system.If the
circuitbreaker hastripped, the switchwill protrude as shown.
To resetthe circuit breaker, allow the CROSS WALK to cool for
five minutes,and then pushthe switchback in.
SYMPTOM: THEPOWER TURNS OFF DURING USE
a. Make surethat the power cord isplugged in.

Check the circuitbreaker locatedon the frontof the frame. If the circuit breaker has hipped, theswitchwill pro-
trude. (Seethedrawing above.} To"resetthe circuit breaker, allow the CROSSWALK to cool for fiveminutes,
and then push the switchback in.
c. Remove the safely key from the console. Relnsertthe safetykey fullyintothe console. Turn thespeed controlknob
to the "reset" position.
3. SYMPTOM: THEMOTIVATIONAL FITNESSMONITOR DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY
a. Check thehatteries in the console. (See OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT.) Most problems are the resultof
drained batteries.

4. SYMPTOM: THE PULSEEARCUPDOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY
a. Make surethat the pulse earclip is plugged fully into the console,A#ach the metal clip to your collar.
b. Rub your ear lobe and reposition the earclip.
c. Stand still while measuring your pulse.
d. The pulse earclip may need to be cleaned. Press the earclip open, and wipe the twoclear circles insidethe
earclip, usinga cotton swab saturatedwith denatured alcohol.
