Service Indicator LED (Fig. A)
Your chipping hammer has one LED, indicating a service
indicator. Refer to the table for more information on
LEDfunctionality.
Wireless Tool Control™ (Fig. A)
CAUTION: Read all safety warnings, instructions and
specifications of the appliance which is paired with
thetool.
Your tool is equipped with a Wireless Tool Control™
transmitter which allows your tool to be wirelessly paired
with another Wireless Tool Control™ device, such as a
DeWALT dustextractor.
To pair your tool using Wireless Tool Control™, depress
the trigger switch

and the Wireless Tool Control™
pairing button on the separate device. An LED on the
separate device will let you know when your tool has been
successfullypaired.
Setting the Electronic Impact Energy
Control Dial (Fig. A)
Turn the dial

to the desired level. The higher the number,
the greater the impact energy. With dial settings from 1(low)
to 7(full power) the tool is extremely versatile and adaptable
for many different applications.
The required setting is a matter of experience, for example:
• When chiseling soft, brittle materials or when minimum
break‑out is required, set the dial to 1or 2(low);
• When breaking harder materials, set the dial to
7(fullpower).
1. Insert chisel in the tool holder/sleeve

and apply
downward pressure while rotating to secure the chisel
into place. The chisel shank must beclean.
2. Ensure the chisel is properlyengaged.
NOTE: The chisel needs to move several centimeters
in and out of the tool holder/sleeve

when
properlyengaged.
3. To remove the chisel pull back the tool holder/sleeve

and pull the chiselout.
Indexing the Chisel Position (Fig. D)
The chisel can be indexed and locked into
12differentpositions.
1. Insert the chisel as describedabove.
2. Rotate the chisel position index collar

in the direction
of the arrow until the chisel is in the desiredposition.
NOTE: After finding the desired position, slightly
maneuver the chisel back and forth to ensure the chisel is
properlyengaged.
Chisels and Chisel Holder
WARNING: Burn hazard. ALWAYS wear gloves when
changing chisels. Accessible metal parts on the tool
and chisels may get extremely hot during operation.
Small bits of broken material may damage barehands.
WARNING: Do not attempt to tighten or loosen drill
chisels (or any other accessory) by gripping the front
part of the chuck and turning the tool on. Damage to
the chuck and personal injury mayoccur.
The demolition hammer can be fitted with various
chisels depending on the desired application. Use sharp
chiselsonly.

NOTE: Accessories and attachments used must be lubricated
around the SDSMax® fitment beforeinstallation.
Bail/Loop Style Auxiliary Handle (Fig. B)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury,
ALWAYS operate the tool with the bail/loop style
auxiliary handle properly installed and securely
tightened. Failure to do so may result in the bail/loop
style auxiliary handle slipping during tool operation
and subsequent loss of control. Hold tool with both
hands to maximizecontrol.
