HOW TO USE

SWAN CATERING KETTLES are constructed almost entirely of hygienic

stainlesssteelandshouldgivemanyyearsoftrouble-freeserviceaslongas

theyareusedinaccordancewiththeseinstructions.

For all models:

Beforefirstuse,removeallpackaging,rinseoutthekettlewithwarmwater

(withoutdetergent).

Removethelidandfillthekettlewiththedesiredamountofwatertakingcare

nottofillpasttheMAXlevelindicator.Avoidunderfillingthekettleasthiswill

causetheoverheatprotectionsystemtooperateandcouldreducethelifeof

theelement.

Alsonotethatthiskettleisdesigned tobe filledviathelidratherthanthe

spout.

Afterfilling,connectthekettletothemainssupplyandswitchon.

Oncethewaterhasboiled,thekettlewillswitchoffautomatically.

Alwaystakeextracarewhenpouringveryhotwater.Alsotakecareifrefilling

immediatelyafterboiling!

TIPS & TROUBLESHOOTING

Safety first!

• DO NOT site the kettle when it can be knocked off the counter top or where

someonecouldleanonitaccidentally.

• ALWAYSsitthekettleonasurfacethatcanwithstandtheweightoftheproduct

andthewaterinit.For3.5Lmodelsthat’saround6kg.

• DONOToperatethekettlewithoutthelidsecurelyfastened.

Boil Dry Protection Switch

Ifthekettleboilsdry,itisequippedwithacut-offswitch.Ifthekettleboilsdryitwill

disconnectitselffromthemainssupply.Toreset,proceedasfollows

• Switchofftheurnandunplugfrommains.

• AllowtocoolFULLY.

• Refillwithwater.

• Re-connecttomainssupplyabdswitchon

Descaling

Excessivelimescalebuild-upcancausetheelementtooverheatandcancausethe

kettle to malfunction! Make regular checks of the inside of the kettle for signs of

limescale.Itisessentialthatlimescaledepositsbecleanedusingproprietarydescaling

tablets,powdersorliquids(availablefrommostsupermarkets).Thoseinhardwater

areasmayneedtodescalethekettleeveryweek.Thoseinsoftwaterareaswon’t

needtodescalethekettlequiteasoften.
